Well, I do like the Necromorphs. The body of the Necromorph host is forced into new twisted shapes to fit the function of the newly spawned creature, gruesomely disfiguring the body of the host. They are an extraordinarily aggressive species, having no sense of sympathy or mercy; they slaughter every sentient non-Necromorph being on sight, regardless of species or age. The sole purpose of the creatures' aggressive behavior is to spread the infection. =]

Oh yeah, I like thoese perticular Necromorths from Dead Space, though I would have to also vote for Smokers from the Left 4 Dead series. I really like the idea of being able to contrict a PC at a range, before running away and coming back a while later, when the PCs are busy.

I must admit, I have not been following the details of Dead Space 2, but I am very critial by nature. I hope co-op will make working togeather matter, rather just slapping "co-op" onto it, otherwise I will be dissapointed.

I don't think he appears in any d&d video game ( mabye a user created NWN module? ) but Anthraxus the Decayed would be truly twisted. Nothing beats the old school d&d monsters, imo.

Well...

Film

Aliens - The Xenomorphs. One of the best realized monsters in film history, bar none.
Posted Image

Predator - The Predator. Cheesy movies aside, that is one the best designed alien baddies ever put onscreen.
Posted Image

Lord of the Rings - Goblins. Or Moria Orcs if your prefer. Unlike the Uruk Hai or Mordor orcs, these buggers truly looked inhuman.
Posted Image

Dragonslayer - Vermithrax Pejorative. It may be fantasy 80's cheese, but damn if that isn't the finest looking dragon onscreen.
Posted Image

Videogame

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Scary buggers, and it's a kick that you can ride once you beat them down a bit.
Posted Image

Alan Wake - Shadow monsters. God those things scared the crap outta me.
Posted Image

Mass Effect - The Geth. Okay, so maybe they aren't all that bad, but back in the first game they were creepy. Probably one of best realized visions of artificial intelligence in any medium.
Posted Image

Dragon Age - The Ogres. Out of all the Darkspawn, they looked the coolest (along with being the meanest!).
Posted Image

Well, that's all so far. I'll add more later on. :)

@Horacethegrey. Wow, your first four picks are exactly what I would have said. Good to see a nod to Dragon Slayer. Love that movie. It had amazing special effects for the time.

~edit~

Just to name a few lesser known ones from games...

Posted Image

The Hammer Haunts from the Thief games. Not only are they quite nasty, they also manage to creep me out immensely, with that haunting speech and laughter of theirs.

Posted Image

The goblins from Dark Messiah. They're so ky00t and cuddly when they bravely charge you...only to then be kicked around mercilessly.

Similarly to the aforementioned Dark Messiah goblins...the Xvarts in Baldur's Gate. Bald, angry, blue little men with a serious deathwish.

Also, the Psi Monkeys from System Shock 2. Jebus, the nightmares I've had from those after the one time I played the game co-op with a friend. It was ridiculous the way we were being chased and killed by them in the starting levels of the game. The sound of their screams alone...*shudders*

Finally, the Chrysalid/Tentaculat from UFO: Enemy Unknown/XCOM: Terror from the Deep (XCOM 1&2). Horrible alien monstrosities that on a touch turn your soldiers into a zombie-like state after which they start attacking your own forces, only to turn in to a Chrysalid themself after a few turn (or after they're killed).
Dealing with them involves such strategies as making sure every one of your soldiers carries a primed grenade with them. Then if a Chrysalid gets them, they'll drop the stuff they carry and the primed grenades goes BOOM.
I love them for being so damn creepy, yet I also really, REALLY HATE THEM.

Thanks. :) And to be honest though, I didn't really like Dragonslayer that much. But like I said, that is the most impressive dragon I've seen on film. I only hope when The Hobbit comes around Smaug will be just as impressive.

@horace the grey yeah I liked most of them too. The Taken from Alan Wake were one of my favorites. I loved them moving in the darkness at high speed and yelling random things.

 Mr. X from resident evil.

Honestly is there anymore creepy about this giant humanoid monster in a trench coat taking up an entire hall slowly walking towards you while you unload your gun on him to trying to stop him.

And he would never die too and would always stalk you extra creepy.

Sure he would die, didn't Ada Wong give you a rocket launcher?

He would never die mid game i mean.

Ofc you frag him near the end but coming across him any other time during the game was freaky.

Also the butcher from diablo 1 -hearing "Ahh fresh meat" and stepping into his room filled with people hung on meathooks and impaled on the walls was bone chilling.

Agreed, he put the sh*ts up me back in the day. The Nemesis was just as bad if not worse though.
