Probably not long after the first game came out on xbox. I didn't own a xbox then so I couldn't play it. But i was over at my friends house hanging out, and she was showing it to me. Started a new playthrough and let me watch the first 15-20 minutes or so, then let me try going at it on my own. I think it was the cinematic quality to it. It felt really epic and the story was engaging right from the start.

I was quite interested and really enjoyed it then, but again, having no xbox or the funds to get one, I wasn't able to pick it up myself until it was released on PC. The moment It was, I was a happy camper and have been pretty obsessed ever since.

I was staying at a friend's house and his copy arrived in the mail. I had never heard of it before, though when I saw it was from BioWare I was intrigued. From there, I was mesmerized just watching him go through the opening through Eden Prime to the Citadel... I was having so much fun watching, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I ended up being so immersed in the story, I stayed at my friend's house until we had both beaten the game.

The first time I stepped out of the Mako and looked over the vast canyons and desolate plains to look at the blue giant orbiting the red giant on the background of stars and nebulas.

Yup.

To be honest I only played ME1 because I bought ME2. But...I do like ME1 a lot now - even with the bloody Mako driving. What stands out as the moment that sold me on it?

Finding the beacon on Eden Prime I think. Its what made me realise that there might be an interesting story to be found if I kept going. And there was (is).

Vigil on Ilos, for sure.

And just playing through the whole first game captivated me.

Mine is kind of ironic. It's the conversation with Sovereign that opened my eyes and let me know that something huge was coming.

as soon as i started playing the game on eden prime, the story was already epic. the rest of the game lived up to the expectations i'd built, and the rest is history.

It first hit me when I realized I was playing a game that let me go where I wanted to go and do what I wanted to do in space! What kid growing up doesn't dream about space exploration!?!
