The problem I have is that: I get game crash constantly and randomly. I dont know if its due to my audio settings or applications or graphics. Does anyone have the same problem, or anyone has any ideas please post, thank you.

Same here. The game crash actually. I'm returned to Windows desktop just like I had pressed ALT-TAB. Very annoying indeed.

I usually get back into game by prerss ALT-TAB or clicking on the game icon at bottom of the screen.



This problem doesn't occur with any other game.

Computer is powerful enough to run Fallen Earth, Age of Conan and other demanding games with no problem (exept the usual lag in hubs).

exact same problem over here..... i alt tab and it works for like a few minutes then it freezes up again....... it ruins the game experience and i fear i wasted my money unless they patch this problem up or find a solution to the problem.... others besides us have the same problem...

Well for me its different screen goes black and whole system stops working, this usually happens when I talk to people for quests and such.

At the moment I hit rock bottom, I am at bit where you go into Redcliffe Castle Thats part of main quest and game crashes when I talk to him so I am stuck there, but I suppose I could go elsewhere do other quests....

I had the blackscreen/freeze error as well, my video card was afactory OCed 3870, get rivatuner and try turning down the OC, worked great for me, haven't had the black screen error since

Since we all seem to be having same issues (crash/freezes during gameplay...mine locks my PC up forcing me to hardboot) yet we can play other games no problem (I play L4D, Killing Floor, Empire a War, Champions Online....pretty safe to say this product is bugged to the core.

The question is, how quickly will they fix this and what is causing it?

Sucks we have to go through this.

If they cant fix this, I want my money back.

Question for you. Do you own Nvidia? If so, it is possible it isn't the game. NVIDIA cards have been having issues lately.



Try turning off PhysX. (go into your NVIDIA control panel).



Also, run in windowed mode. I crashed a lot until I turned of PhysX, and disabled sound effects. (I left music and dialog alone). I can now run the game at the highest graphic settings for over 5 hours, and no crashing.

Yes I do have NVIDIA and they are having problems with the drivers. Thanks for the advice.

I cant turn mine off because i cannot find the option to do it in INVIDIA control panel, but i'll try ranning it in windowed mode and see what happens.

How old is your card?  I'd suggest updating the drivers.

I have latest driver, but I started to play after the update so I dont know if game wouldn't crash with older version

if I skip convesation where game crashes every bloody time then i can proceed with the game, so what is this crashing due to any ideas?

DA:O doesn't seem to have a strong grasp on its "Focus" and when interrupted by a variety of ill-behaved programs, will minimize itself.  Many of the interruptions are caused by hyperactive AV software, but IM / PM / Xfire type stuff is also problematic.   You should all visit the Microsoft site, look up the discussion of Clean Booting that applies to the Windows version you use, and follow it.  Don't forget that your test should be performed offline, so a new game, without DLC, is required for the purpose.
