I don't think it was much time at all, it feels like they recalled Shep in a hurry and barely gave time to settle on the ship before hopping to Eden Prime. there might have been run ins in Mess hall and definitely during debriefings and Nihlus had time to follow Shepard around so it was at least a few days, but I think those were very busy days. Heck Shepard didn't even get to meet all of the crew until after Eden prime (Jenkins gets more of an introduction then Kaidan, which is somewhat ironic)

Ironic? More like hilarious.

Though yeah it must've been a few days at least if Nihlus managed to stalk Shep around.

Shepard's questions to Chakwas about Kaidan give the impression that Shepard hasn't had anything beyond a brief introduction at the start of ME1.

Yeah...I have no idea what's going on right now, but I think it's safe to say that Bioware isn't going to make Kaidan bisexual in the last portion of this trilogy.   I do think that whatever other players do in their games will not affect my own enjoyment of the game, however, and I feel for those who want this option.  There is no need to get on a "soapbox" about bisexual romance options in video games in the Kaidan thread, there is the "Fight for the Love" thread in the Mass Effect General Discussion Forum, and the various threads on this topic in the DA forums.

We'll be lucky if we get more than a cameo, and continuing the romance we started in ME1 would be a miracle, so this should not be an issue to worry about.  I really hope ME3 information starts flowing soon.

Truth TeenZombie. With the way BW has been treating the VS you guys'll be lucky to even have Kaidan in the party.

I get the feeling they have been onboard for a short time but haven't really had a chance to talk yet. But they haven't just met, they know each other even if only nodding terms so far.

Kaidan is head of the Normandy's marine detail and Shepard is the leader of the ground team. I was wondering how a professional relationship would work. Wouldn't they have to talk a lot? Reports? etc?

There is a ****** scene in dragon age 2. I demand kaidan performs oral sex on shepard. It's the only logical conclusion.

High five bioware for telling the critics to take a flying fornication...literally.

agreed. now if they'd only have the quad to add in same-sex romance for ME3.

/climbs on a soapbox

I honestly don't think it has ANYTHING to do with a lack of quad.  its not like bioware has never done any bisexual romances (including m/m) ever.  oh wait....

is it so hard to beleive that maybe, just maybe they have a different vision for Mass Effect relationships?  I understand that Kaidan is a biotic god and everyone wants him and some only hate him cause they are jealous,  and Shepard is the biggest most desirable Mary Sue in known and unknown universe, but why is it so hard to accept the established in game preferences without trying to push your fantasies (which you are definitely entiteled to)  into actual canon?  Fanfiction is great, its awesome, its entertaining.  but its F A N F I C T I O N

I know that this will mostl likely cause an intence dislike in my direction from quitea few people, but for the love of god.   sometimes, cigar is just a cigar.  and sometimes people are straight and sometimes, you really do end up with no bisexual or homosexual people in a near vicinity.  it happens.  can't we just leave it at that instead of turning everything into equality issues?

/climbs off the soapbox  /puts on flame retardant suit.

Even if it means I cannot be part of this group anymore, I feel that it had to be said.

hm, if i thought it was going to cause that misunderstanding, i wouldn't have said anything.

first, kaidan was not straight to begin with. he, ash, and liara were all going to be bi, as i understand the original vision for ME1. this plan was changed, because - i suppose - the assumption was a shooter for manly players should not allow the protaganist to be gay.

second, if bioware has since decided that kaidan is straight, fair enough. my complain is that shepard must be canonically straight, (and it has been asserted that shepard is, to the complete annoyance of the liara/femshep crowd). i don't mind if kaidan is straight - from a personal point of view, i i rather prefer that he is, because that means he only has eyes for (my?;)) femshep. but i don't see why there are NO same-sex romance options in a story set in THE FUTURE. okay, i get it that they assume the shooter crowd can't handle it, but i think that's unfortunate. i find it distracting to know that shepard cannot be gay, even though i doubt i would ever play a gay shepard. the fact they've limited shepard in that way is what annoys me.

so when bioware goes and plays all "open-minded", as if they're thumbing their noses at the critics of sex and violence, i sort of roll my eyes. truly, they're primarily motivated by the dollars. if they don't think ME can sell with a potentially "gay" hero, then they won't do it. with DA, they've found the sex - for any orientation - sells. i wish they'd have the guts to try the same formula for ME, but i, sadly, don't think it will happen.

my 2 cents.=]

That is well put, Sage, I agree :)
I guess the focus here should be - Male or female - Gay or straight, we appreciate Kaidan and that is the tie that binds us. Anything else is moot at that level.

Let me get this straight - because Kaidan did not share stories of his past relationships with a superior officer, you - or Ryzaki? - assume that he never had any and, therefore, he is "creepy" or a "closet homosexual"?

Medigel lol XD

But I think he's just thinner than previously assumed. I mean, he's been upgraded to medium armor in ME2 so some of that bulk is armor bulk.

I mean, from LOTSB it's obvious that the ME1 appearances aren't final for the ME1 LIs. I'm sure the VS will get an upgrade somewhere alonge the line... maybe :/

oh, dare we hope that the hair bump gets some...help? i mean, i don't want it to go away. after all this time, i've gotten attached to it. but it could use some work. maybe if it looked less like it had a pound of gel in it? like, all coming loose and such?

i hope they don't change kaidan TOO much. i do so like him the way he is. but a little time-worn as he was on horizon would be smexy.

I wouldn't mind them getting rid of the bumps. The back of the head one is just illogical and has to go. The top one needs a trim.

Idk, IMO Kaidan needs a tex rehaul just like Liara got. Ash still looks good though; her textures 'aged well', for lack of a better term.

Off Topic.

I'm not against (heck I'm all for it if its done well) same sex romance in a future though it seems unlikely if developers do maintain that Shepard is straight and liara is not really a woman (considering that asari sex while can involve physical contact is mainly through melding of nervous systems - its a stretch but not as much of a stretch as it might seem at first). I don't know how every writer works, I won't even claim to know how most writers work, but I do know that quite often some ideas don't last past brain storming stage and some ideas get changed and developed in a different direction based on how the rest of the story and the characters are shaping up. whatever might have been planned originally is no longer relevant.

I don't think bioware is playing at being open-minded, I think they ARE. and they are genuinely trying to please their customer base, even if sometimes they take it a bit farther then people have expected (from super tedious inventory, to no inventory to speak of, for example). they are willing to try all sorts of novel ideas so if same sex romance doesn't happen in ME3, I don't think it would be due to lack of guts, but rather because they couldn't find a way to write it in in a believable way.

and I'm going to attempt to keep my mouth shut for at east some time on this subject, as this thread should be about biotic god and the many ways we appreciate him O_O

Back to topic.

its true that Shep and Kaidan would have to touch base on regular basis. (and they do, much to my personal enjoyment, I bug that poor guy after every mission, even small side ones >_> ) I don't think they would have an opportunity to do so alone though, I rather think they would have staff meetings, like the kind you get every time you complete a storyline mission. Not enough time to really get to know each other, but enough time to develop some appreciation for each other's professional ability

hair bumps - I always felt that Kaidan has this super springy curly fast growing hair that just kinda takes the shape ala hedge bush.  it seems like it constanly grows out of his regulation hair cut, ending up with those bumps.  My theory anyways

*snipped a bunch of quotes*
You know I'm over the whole , 'but Kaidan was bi/gay to begin with' arguement.  Regardless of what may or may not have been planned before the game was released, the fact is that he isn't bi/gay.
I just don't want to be in a situation where a character who wasn't bi/gay in ME1 suddenly becomes bi/gay in the next chapter.
I get that bi/gay players want the option and it doesn't worry me that much as I won't take that option,  but I don't want to get to a point where every character in game has to be bi or gay to satisfy everyone.

As for fornication, I don't know why they changed the way it ws done in ME1, because it was extremely well done.  I personally don't need full on graphic sex scenes, but maybe thats just because I'm old, lol.  I also have a good imagination.Posted Image

and on a non Kaidan related note : if anyone wants a dark, gritty, shocking, extremely well wriiten Omega fic to read I highly recommend Thymes latest fic :  http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6724211/1/

to further clarify: i don't want kaidan to turn bi either. it would be OOC at this point. and truly, i think at this point a s/s romance in the ME universe would probably not fit, given what they've done. they'll probably just leave in the ability to hack the PC version (The way they've been doing).

@Kaidan's wonderful hair

I love his hair, it always reminds me of James Dean or Elvis Presley. I find it very cool and very vintage. *heavenly sigh*

Now that I cracked up the graphics for ME2 to max I can really tell its curly. Which actually has me slightly disappointed. I had always envisioned it more straight and when he doesn't have it combed back in hangs down a bit.
