While I fall down on Kaidan's side re: Horizon (I found Shepard's responses, or lack thereof, far more annoying than Kaidan's reaction), I don't blame Kaidan and I don't blame Shepard: I blame BioWare. Blaming the pixels is ridiculous. BW wrote the scene. Get angry with them.

Anyway, I come bearing a link of arty goodness. Linked rather than posted here as it is potentially NSFW (Kaidan's bare butt ): Sheploo and Kaidan reunited on Omega -- I commissioned the piece to fit a chapter from the story I'm writing at the moment.

I think the biggest problem with Horizon is the fact that Bioware has given us way too much time to nitpick at it. They drop this huge bomb on us and then leave us hanging forever without a word, a dossier...anything. PLEASE...Bioware give us our resolve or at least some glimpse of hope where Kaidan is concerned.

What other scene in Mass Effect 1 OR 2 have we talked about more?! Not the locker scene, not the Ilos scene, Virmire comes close but in the end we ALWAYS come back to Horizon.

Huzzah! I finally updated my fanfic. So, yeah, i was a slacker about it. been working on my own fic, which was taking me elsewhere in my headspace. but here is:

lol, we all do, but I'm afraid I'd personally lose any respect for Kaidan if he could be convinced to go against his principles that easily he'd still be hot, but just... (also pouting is pretty out of character for our Kai, methinks)

my vision would involved Shepard taking Kaidan aside and giving him few explanations so that they still stay apart, but Kaidan knows, truly knows that Shepard is with Cerberus out of pure necessity and can help Shep form the other side to get out of TIM's clutches faster. But I just don't see our principled Kai ever officially working with Cerberus (and now I just got this terrible fear that bioware will not write in that variable, so even super renegades who give the base to TIM and don't really leave cerberus will still get him on board literally or figuratively)

edited to add.  there maybe one possibility (and both my Shep and Kai would hate it)  if TIm somehow manages to revoke Cerberus's terrorist status, but it would require something exceptional to happen.

I think we're not seeing it for 2 different reasons, plus diference sence of humor and all O_O  lets just say there are some exceptionaly well written fanfics that I can only apreciate if I read them as if they were their own stories just with familiar character names, instead of seeing them as rewriting of the game from a different perspective.  and leave it at that...and with Kai.

It's not my screenshot, but I believe it was done using mods. There aren't enough mShepxKaidan art/manips out there, imo. (Hence my commission ^^ )

If I could choose, I would never work for Cerberus. Ever. And I have a hard time respecting those who do. I am as "childish" as the VS in that regard. I don't have anything else to add to this discussion, but I'm thankful to you for sharing your thoughts. We just won't see eye to eye on this.

Right. We're not going to agree. I see them as acting like a child and you don't.

And I never said the VS had to work with Cerberus. Heck I even said I was okay with them walking off. But the rant and storming off (and you only get the letter if you're their LI) was childish.
