I wonder how quiet the thread will be now the LIs for DA2 have been announced?
I feel bad for cheating on Kaidan D:

I will be here.....i always am..just dont talk too much :)

Ok...Ok...and playing DAO again and again may have something to do with that :)

Kinda made me wonder though, will Bioware ever hire Sbarge again to voice a LI once the ME trilogy is finished? Kaidan got a lot of hate for just being associated with Carth because of this voice (crazy I know), so that probably killed any chance of Sbarge getting a LI part again. Question is, do we even want to hear it again? Personally I wouln't mind it if there's enough time between the ME trilogy and the new game. I think it would be stranger to hear Sbarge voicing some party member without being a LI ;)

I don't see them using him as a LI again for precisely that reason, sadly.......
However, it doesn't bother me because Kaidan is who I associate with the voice tbh (and yes, I did play KOTOR long before ME came out, but I think he sounds different as Kaidan to Carth)
It also doesn't bother me because BioWare have a pretty decent track record for LI VA's :) The guy voicing Fenris has a wonderful depth and I love Alistair and Anders voice actors too. Sbarge isn't the only man with a lovely voice, it *might* be the best.............. but that is another discussion entirely ;)

Well besides the eyes, I love the voice as well. It can really make or break a character for me. The moment I met Carth I took a moment to really listen to the guy and loving it. When I heard Kaidan for the first time, I already loved the voice to begin with and even prefer the way Sbarge speaks in ME than he did in KOTOR.
It's why Fenris could become appealing despite having a VA who worked on Final Fantasy as well (god knows I'm done with characters sounding like teenage boys), but since it's Balthier from FF12...it's going to be yummy.

Now that the DA2 romances have been confirmed, I can't help comparing them to Kaidan and wondering how the hell they are going to live up to the ME experience lol Different flavors, for sure but I hope there's no handwalking to be done in DA2 again...I really love how Kaidan has his own morals, opinions, values, career and stands up for them too. He complements Shepard but doesn't need her to advance in life...can't really word it very well. But it's been said before when the Kaidan/Alistair comparison was discussed. Loved Alistair, but hated having to hold his hand so often in the non-romantic way ;)

Hey, to each his/her own. I really like it just as it is, but on the other hand I could live with the eyebrows being slightly less bushy. Posted Image

But perfect is boring, right?

Now I need to know, who is Anders?

I'm not really comparing, Kaidan was my first *sigh* and playing DAO and ME2 is proving without a doubt that romances normally aren't that good. But is it the voices that have been confirmed?

Still beats the thin eyebrows from DA though...dunno what was up with that...lol
Kaidan's eyebrows do look awkward at times, but then again so do his eyes...I blame animation..yes  *nodnod*

And Anders, is the guy who's not Kaidan. See I'm helpful, never played Awakenings so know little about him, other than him having a cat....:P

edit : the DA2 romances have officially been confirmed, the VA's I dunno...I stumbled upon Fenris's via youtube.

seems I missed the boat on getting a show down with Liara and Kaidan - when I speak to her now she says she thinks I'm in a relationship with Kaidan. Maybe next run through.

Is DA worth playing, I might pick up a second hand copy on ebay - which is the first one? Origins?

Animations, that could be it.. Posted Image And it's rather logical to have every man in DAO (midieval feeling) fixing their eyebrows from time to time, while the hypermodern men in ME are roughing it.

So, Anders is a man with a cat. Posted Image I'll get Awakenings once this demon is dead and buried, so I guess I'll meet him. And his cat, of course.

Really, she cares about that? I thought I had to keep her at arms length to be clear. Posted Image

I'm really liking it (DA). Haven't played RPG before, so I'm no expert, but I'm enjoying it almost as much as ME. And Origins is the first one, yes.

DA:O is brilliant. Its strength, for me, is its story. It's an amazing story, with some great choices to make, and especially from the 2nd half onwards (at the Landsmeet) it's just spectacular.

Depending on what platform you play, ymmv as concerns actual gameplay. I played on xbox originally, and while it was still fun, multiple runs are, well, testing. I've recently got it for mac though, and am having much more fun (not least because of all the mods ... King Cailan's necroboner anyone? No? Just me then ....).

I really can't wait for DA2.

(DA:O Also has a lot of replayability because each origin is richly done and expansive. Plus it's fun to meet these insignificant minor characters in one play through that turn out ot be vitally important to you in another.)

Kaidan's voice: I think it would be silly not to use him because of a game that is getting up their in age. BW has a much larger fan base now, including people that don't go back to KOTOR,Jade Empire, etc...

Same here.

I have played ALL bioware games.....ALL of them....i was in love with Casavir long before i developed an addiction to templars...actually i think he's the reason i suffer from the "Templar syndrom"
Im a bio fan...not only a ME fan.

In every new game they make, the romances are getting better and better.....trust me......(well. there's the little issue with them writers having a preference in tragic endings but noone is perfect ^_^ )

Gaider lives on our tears ... that's why he's incapable of writing a romance that doesn't end in utter despair. (And it's why I'm nervous that I like Fenris so much ... Gaider wrote him ... it'll end in tears and heartbreak, I just know it.)

I absolutely love DA:O, Awakenings is OK, serves more as an intro to Anders as a LI now though, than as a standalone game, lol!

As far as voices go, Fenris VA just has the edge atm, over Anders, not Kaidan, of course.... Kaidan's still the best.

Speaking of which, where's the DLC? :P I could use a healthy new dose of Kaidan, thanks :D

If Fen is heartbreaking i cant even start imagining what Anders's will be....

Oh yeah, that's one hell of a tragedy just waiting to happen. Not written by Gaider though, so all we can hope is that the rest of the writers aren't as evil as him :D

I'd be fine with it, myself, but I believe BioWare went on record as saying they weren't going to hire Sbarge again as a LI, because they'd already done it too much and didn't want to retread old territory or somewhat.  Although if memory serves, they stopped short of saying they weren't going to hire him again at all, so who knows?  He might show up as a bad guy or somethin'.  :?

I like the eyebrows.  They look so soft and touchable.  :o

Then again, I'm not so fond of the chin-dimple, but, hey, can't have it all.  :innocent:

I love the chin dimple. I love the eyebrows. I even don't mind the hair bump. The front one, that is. He also has a back hair bump, down at the nape of his neck. Not so fond of that.

I got used to the chin dimple, but it took me a while. I'm fine with the hair bumps, but I assume the one on his neck is to hide the implant.

And the scars. The scars are nice too.

I doubt the implant sticks out that much. I think the hair bumps are just because his hair is that curly.

Yeah, that's what I figured.

So, if biotic Shep shaves his head ... where is his implant?

I've always pictured it kinda like the jacks in The Matrix.  But flatter to the skull.

It's probably not as drastic as it used to be, no...

But I dunno.  Experimental surgery could have left some interesting scars, even if it's not all metal back there.

Biotic Shepard is an L3 doesn't need an implant.  S/he's that special.
