I could see Kaidan getting on very well with Miranda if she quit Cerberus. They've both got similar stories of a rough childhood and could relate at how people misunderstand them.
I don't think so. I think he would be quite annoyed at the fact that she talks about her perfection a lot.

She talks to Shepard about it because she's in the middle of a self-identity struggle. I'd hate to be her, confiding in Shepard that she never feels good enough, only to have her thoughts on her self-worth brushed aside as an inflated, vain ego.Sashimi_taco wrote...

I voted Ashley, just because of all the squadmates in ME1 they had the most back and forth. But I think Kaidan and Kasumi might get along great. They both have that dry sense of humor and I could see Kasumi wowing him with her collection of old books.
I voted Ash, too, for the same reasons.

That being said, I think he could relate to Miranda. They have both had difficult childhoods, are the same age, and both know what being biotics could be like, whereas Ashley would sympathize, but wouldn't understand.
Kasumi? Maybe. I think Kaidan would appreciate her spunk and wit. But Kasumi might continuously compare his tech skills to Keiji's, who was much likely a superior tech.

I think Ashley, they seem to rub along nicely together when you have them in your party. I certainly think that Kaidan who romances Shepard would not get on that well with Liara. He is quite abrasive with her in the 'choose me', scene..
I would disagree.
He tells Shepard his honest opinion: "Make a choice. If it's not me, I'll be hurt, but I'll get over it." How much more unabrasive could he be?
And regarding that situation: why should he get stringed along? Why would anybody get stringed along? He has every right to confront Shepard about it.
He's actually VERY diplomatic about the whole situation, and only objects when Liara says that she is not female (when she clearly is, but that is for another thread).

He seems abrasive to me. Everything is open to interpretation and that is mine.
I don't see it as him being unreasonable, or in anyway rude, he justs seems frustrated.

He seems pissed off at Shepard specifically to me. He seems to think she's toying with him, and I think any annoyance at Liara is spilling over from that. If memory serves, he specifically expresses sorry for what Liara's going through if you follow the right dialogue choices and he wishes Shepard and Liara the best (in a very non-sarcastic way) if Shepard chooses Liara.
I dunno, though, like you say: it's open to interpretation.

He does seem sympathetic to her after the fact, no argument there. And it is just my opinion, which is all I can give, I am not qualified to speak for anyone else, lolFireEye wrote...

Really it was a hard choice. Yes Kaidan is a very handsome man. Half the reason I'm here, the other half is because he is a very interesting character. He could look like a CHUD and I would still love him. But Joker and Jacob are both good looking. Even Anderson and TIM are both kind of debonair.
@SilentK
You are totally right about that. I just finished a romance with Jacob and found it kind of lacking. (Although I did get a great screen shot of Shepard with her man-hunting face. And no this is a non-Kaidan-romantic Shepard. And yes Kaidan is still alive 'cause I'm weak and I can't kill him)
The romantic subplot seems to be tied into the story of ME1. Kaidan was the one who almost got caught in the beacon, he was the one by Shepard side when she woke up, etc. If you wait to talk to Sha'ira until after you activate the romance Kaidan will get jealous at the consort. The game acknowledges there is a romance going on more then when you are alone talking to the LI.
Hell, in my romantic Jacob play through, in the scene after you kill the Reaper baby, it was Miranda my Shepard did the slide save not Jacob. I was more then a little be disappointed in that.
My point I guess, is in ME1 the LI has more screen time then they would normally, like a LI in a movie would have. Kaidan steps up from being a background character to the co-star of the Shepard Vs Reapers movie. You have extra scenes and dialogue because of the LI and not just the sex scene.

11 shepards, 5 female, 6 male. Kaidan is alive for 9 of them. lets be weak together
I actualy just created a new femshep and other then her general personality, I wasn't exactly sure where I'd be taking her...I think she's going to end up with Kaidan too. do you guys know if he gets pissed off at you when you send him away before Ilos? (I want to play her as extremely atracted but unwilling to break regulations, regardless of how she feels. but I don't want to remove the romance flag - she still feels what she feels even if she didn't act on it)

No he doesn't get pissed at all. He just says something along the lines of not making him wait forever but he completely understands.

Wow =) never been by the consort, have to try that with the next shepard. I never do everything with one shep, always keep something unknown for later replays. When your LI reacts to the things that happens to shepard you feel that they are involved, they are concerned. Shepard matters to them, and that makes them more important to me, and my shepard =) That extra screen time is really important. Hope that he will still have that in ME3.
Gahh... just did horizon with my latest shep. Poor poor Kaidan. This time he's a friend to my shep that has Liara as LI. Actually I would like to play it so that shepard moves away from Liara in ME3 and ends the game with Kaidan. Don't know if it will be possible but I would love it. Just to see the game from a new point of view. On Horizon shepard realised that Kaidan still has feelings for her, it feelt like losing a limb. Then after hearing that Liara left her to cerberus she will feel betrayed. They had a triangle going before so it would be fun to play it out. Guess I'll just have to see if that is a possible outcome along the way.

The only reason I think this way is because adding at least 2 new LI would just bog things down. Without adding anyone new, people who just play ME3 can still experience a romantic subplot but Bioware won't have to spend the time, energy, and money making scenes for 9+ love interests. And those of us who have already played will get a chance to romance someone else or the same LI if we like.
Well hell, honestly I don't care if they add anyone new or whatever. I just want a realistically happy ending with Kaidan. No rainbows and unicorns, but no death and tragedy either.
@SilentK
It's charming as hell. I love making Kaidan just a little just. Shepard is totally a sure thing for him but it never hurts to ruffle some feathers before giving him what he wants.
