Both, Sia.

I'm even contemplating a Kaidan-less universe since y'know... he doesn't matter to BW lately. :(

he matters to us!  gah, I'm afraid to hope and I don't want to completely give up either.  please, bioware, don't let us down?

Yep.

Ash or Kaidan will probably throw themselves in front of a Reaper to save Shepard. No more pesky loose Alliance end for BioWare to deal with in ME3. Posted Image

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

They're not kiiling off the VS. They had plot armor in ME2 so that they'd be around for ME3.

Better trolling next time...

holy crap, guys, and I thought I was a pessimist. so far every single LI could be kept alive. sure, you could kill off all but ME1 love interests, but it had to be a choice or really silly decisions, it wasn't an inevitable death. if they kill off a fairly crucial character like VS in a piece of optional content then bioware is completely NOT the company I thought they were. and that would just suck beyond belief. so I refuse to think that VS will die in DLC, at least I refuse to think that it will be an inevitable scripted death.

@ Saber - Fort is not a troll :(  just a dissapointed fan and please god, let Fort be wrong, please?  look what you guys are doing, you are making me pray and I'm an atheist.

Oh, I'm sorry. Fort, Chig, (myself), we're just trolling because we have so many positive things to reflect with how BW has treated both Ashley and Kaidan since ME2.....

We have no reason to expect or hope or even be encouraged that anything positive for the VS would come from a DLC that has a "supposed" achievement entitled "The Ultimate Sacrifice"... especially if it's the "supposed" VS DLC.

I will actually be very surprised if Kaidan/Ashley is killed in this DLC. After all, as much as we might like the characters, they would hardly qualify as the ultimate sacrifice. The ultimate sacrifice would be Shepard's own life. And the description, "survive all 5 waves in the battle for Object Rho", doesn't really sound like a sacrifice at all. I'm sure it will make sense once we've played the DLC, but until there is a real reason to be pessimistic, I won't be. Killing off major characters like Kaidan and Ashley in a DLC seems pretty silly to me, and a wasted opportunity. The VS is part of a through-line of the trilogy, the Princess Leia/Han Solo of the franchise. You wouldn't just off Han Solo in a made-for-TV holiday special, would you?

Maybe this doctor we're supposed to save makes the "ultimate sacrifice." I remember when I wanted my warden to do the US ending in DAO on one of my playthroughs. I took Alistair... :crying: Needless to say I got the "ultimate sacrifice" ending without being the one to die.

I know we haven't gotten squat with the VS (my Shep misses her Kaidan), but I believe that Bioware will make it up to us in ME3.

When has BW ever given the indication that they actually cared about the VS and wanted them around for something more substantial? All they've given us is words, and their actions have contradicted those very words.

And why would I troll my own fanthread?

Frankly, I hope the VS is far removed from the DLC at this point.

QFT.  I'd actually be surprised if Kaidan/Ash are a part of this DLC; given what little we actually know about the potential DLC right now, I think I would be okay with that.

I second this! But like i said previously in the last thread, they are probably going to kill off the VS to give Shepard some kind of angst filled vengence mission against the reapers.
.....
And then have Shepard die while taking them all down.

It's either be ignored and stuck with another craptastic cameo in ME3 or be in a DLC with an achievement titled "The Ultimate Sacrifice" for Ash and Kaidan? Lovely.

And let's face it, with the track record we've had, even if they didn't kill the VS in the DLC, why would they suddenly acknowledge that we had a romance with them, when every other DLC flat out ignores it.

My hope it's something like 'Thane dies because he has a disease and we can't cure it' or probably pick a teammate to sacrifice....anything other than killing the VS please....can we kill Liara? the Godfather wanna-be needs to go.

Edit: OR!

The ultimate sacrifice is like your whole ground team, leaving Joker, Chakwas, and shepard on the normandy and in ME3 you get a new team. Seems like a trend....getting a new team each game.

To be completely honest, from what the cheevos on that thread say, this dlc has nothing to do with the VS. Recap of cheevos:

The Ultimate Sacrifice- Complete the Arrival DLC

Last Stand-Survive all five waves in the battle for Object Rho

Covert Action-Rescure Dr. Amanda Kenson without attracting hostile attention.

The Dr. was the one mentioned on the Cerb. Network that had hypothesized the age of Prothean ruins etc. to be way old. Because she's on to something, I propose that she was kidnapped by collectors and/or advanced husks by the reapers so that her story couldn't get out or something.

Conclusion: this dlc has absolutely nothing to do with the VS IMO.

Riiiight. My first day de-lurked in the thread and Kaidan will sacrifice himself in a DLC that will not even be played by all the ME fans.

Seriously, I don't think that BioWare will kill the VS, we don't know anything yet so I'll try to be at least a little bit positive, as hard as it can be.

I didn't think there would ever be either.

Kevin and Amy are those mean people that didn't like Cerberus on Horizon even though Cerberus is the valiant underdog and the Alliance is a big jerfaced jerk full of squares.

Edit: Also, Craig Boone :3

I do apologize for our negativity to the newcomers to the thread. We've been here since ME2 came out, some of us even longer, and watched our favorite character get spit on time after time. No one even acknowledges there WAS a relationship beyond friendship.

Didn't know Shep was that good an actress. *rolleyes*
