eh...they won't kill Kaidan/Ash. It is DLC....which means it would be confusing for those who didn't buy it when ME3 comes out. They wouldn't just send an e-mail sayin...btw your lover died even especially since they have the scene with the picture pre-suicide mission. I would suspect it would mean someone else...Hackett or someone else that is introduced as a close character.

Edit...top of page.

Riiiight. My first day de-lurked in the thread and Kaidan will sacrifice himself in a DLC that will not even be played by all the ME fans.
Seriously, I don't think that BioWare will kill the VS, we don't know anything yet so I'll try to be at least a little bit positive, as hard as it can be.

I posted this in the DLC thread. I am actually pretty optimistic. What the hell to cheevos say about anything? We don't even know if that's all of them, BioWare is still developing the damn thing, and more could be developed.

Ashley and Kaidan were researching something to do with the Reapers, yes?
The Alliance is based on Arcturus Station.
Dr. Kenson is from the University of Arcturus.

What have we been asking for in the next DLC?

1) To feature the Alliance
2) To see Arcturus Station
3) That there would be something to do with the Reaper threat

This sounds like it's tying in together nicely. All we need is Ashley and Kaidan featured in it.

They could also be saving Ashley and Kaidan information for the big announcement and reveal.

I think that these bridging DLCs are considered canon.  I'm not saying that I think that they will kill Kaiden or Ashley, but if they are in a bridging DLC, then the conclusions to that DLC may be canon in ME3.

Hmm, I wonder if this doctor mentioned in this Arrival DLC is the doctor Kaidan is currently seeing?

Right, however, its has also been said in interviews that the LI's from ME1 weren't squadmates in ME2 so that they could be saved for an important role in ME3. If they are killed in DLC, then they weren't saved for ME3 were they? I don't think that they will be killed in the DLC.

I am hoping that since it is revolving around the Alliance that the VS will be in it like Liara was in LotSB. And that friendships and relationships could be rekindled as a bridge to ME3

:o  didn't think of that.  But she's also not on the citadel  She's on the Acturus station.
*mischief*  But the thought of her being blown up is :D

Where does it say that the Arrival DLC will revolve around the Alliance? Did I miss something?

It doesn't. It just mentions the 3 cheevos in an update list for PS3. Everything beyond that, including the presence/absence of Kaidan / the Alliance / Craig Boone is speculation :/

That's what I thought, too. I was kind of hoping at this point that I missed the bit about the Alliance. But it seems like I didn't. /:

As far as I know, there has never been anything beyond fan speculation that there would be anything of a Alliance/VS DLC.

And sorry for my negativity, but I got tired of trying to be optimistic when Bioware put out such a compelling comic to bring in the PS3 users as to show fair, and equal, lights to all characters and love interests from Mass Effect 1.

At the beginning of the DLC leak thread a screenshot showed the name of the doctor.  She works on Arcturus station, which is an Alliance facility.  So that's where the assumption about the Alliance comes in.  But, its all speculation.  ;)

I'll believe that there's VS DLC on the way when I see an official statement from BW.

Pretty much the same for me.

Hell, I don't think a DLC would even begin to address the issues that need to be addressed between the VS and Shepard. Romanced or not.

@FireEye Thanks, I'm much better now!

I don't really know what to expect from this DLC.. In one hand there is a great potential for a VS role, but they could also not be involved at all. I'll just wait an official announcement too.. :?

Exactly.  Liara's and Shep's reunion wasn't even as messy as the VS promises to be.

you know, i was thinking about this and I think I'm going to chose optimism. I don't know if we get anything DLC like that has to do with VS, but I have to keep the hope that they didn't lie and we'll get satisfactory resolution when it comes to Ash/Kai. at this point I'll even be happy with: "we love each other, we just cannot be together..for now, but we will be, sometime and in a mean time, grab moments here and there while on leave" ala Liara.

no matter how bleak it might seem sometimes, I cannot lose hope, until there's proof that we have no more hope left to lose. And by proof I mean ME3 is out and VS is mistreated in it.

Jesse Houston just announced it is on the way...in a round about way of course.  He has to wait for PR to give him the OK before he gives out info.

Jesse Houston is waiting on confirmation to announce the DLC. He has not hinted in any way that it will be a VS DLC still.

At no point, has BW ever given any indication that there will be any VS DLC. It has always been fan speculation and hope.

I saw the quote on the femshep thread and agree with you, it's in no way indicating that it will be VS DLC.
I'd love to be proven wrong but I'll believe it when I see it officially reported as I said before.

Come on people, happy thoughts

Kaidan has super plot-armor, they won't strip him of that right away    ;)

Perhaps he won't be in the dlc but at least then we know that we will get him in ME3. Oki, I just recently started with ME1 so I'm quite new to Kaidan and haven't been waiting for so long but don't lose heart now. I'm sure we will have our bioware boyfriend back. Speaking of bioware boyfriend. I'm thinking that Kaidan might actually take first place from Alistair depending on how it goes in ME3. Over all the games, ME &ME2 ME3 you can play out so many scenarios and let their story shift so much. That is just awesome. If ME3 has as much Kaidan-time as ME1, I'm going to be happy beyond words, that extra screentime that just makes the LI more important. Ok, not expecting it to be fluffy bunnies and pink hearts everywhere. Just Shepard and Kaidan saving the world and please pretty please let there be one way for me to get a happy ending.

/ hopless romantic at heart   =)

Welp, I'm braced and ready. Not only will the DLC have nothing to do with the VS, I don't even expect a mention of either character in passing, even if every ME2 squadmember and some random NPCs get special files dedicated to them.

We haven't even had a hint of anything else. I can still hold out hope for ME3, but the achievement descriptions put any VS DLC hopes to rest for me.

It's not the worst thing ever, if we do get Kaidan back as a squadmate in ME3, and we get our resolution then. I can wait.
