Here's a question for you all...
Now that I've played the DA2 demo, I am having a heck of a time keeping to my spoiler-free status.
When ME3 is close to coming out, are you all going to try to remain spoiler free?  Or are you going to want to know ahead of time?

I don't think I could stay spoiler free if I tried. I haven't been slavishly following all the DA2 information, but I've seen most of the gameplay vids and follow the companion threads.

I remember watching a ton of gameplay footage of ME2 shortly before it came out. I already knew about Shep dying at the beginning, so that wasn't a surprise, but I also watched something like the first 3 recruitment missions. I really, really wish I hadn't. I certainly won't do the same this time around.

I'm that person that leafs through every new book she gets and reads the ending before reading the beginning, reads the movie spoiler synopsis before actually watching the movie, etc. I won't be able to remain spoiler free, but I will do my best not to talk about spoilers until everyone else is ready. the suspense is already killing me

I was pretty well spoiler-free for ME2 before I played it. All I knew about Kaidan was that he wasn't a squadmate, but he did make a cameo and he and Shepard had a fight. That much I was glad I knew ahead of time. I think I may have been even more crushed otherwise that he wasn't with Kimbri and that the romance wasn't continuing in that game.



I think I would want to know if Kaidan was a squadmate or not for ME3. But probably not much more than that. But I don't know how much self-control I will have to keep from watching scraps of info that come out. I've been good with DA2, but it doesn't have a S'barge-voiced character as LI in it, so DA doesn't hold a candle to the ME series for me.

I'm pretty good about not divulging spoilers, but it's rare that spoilers actually "spoil" an experience for me. It's the journey, not the destination. If the journey is diverting, knowing the destination beforehand won't detract from it. If the entire experience relies upon a 'twist' or something, generally it's only going to be satisfying for a brief time. Heavy Rain is a good example. Great game, awesome twist, but no replay value.

I stayed mostly spoiler free for ME2...I read about Shepard dying and saw a trailer for Thane's recruitment mission. I heard about the interrupt system and that's about it. For ME3 I haven't decided how much I want to know. If I hear my favorite characters will only have cameos I think it would ruin it for me but part of me needs that info. It will be hard to steer clear this time around though because I'm addicted to this site and twitter.

Kaidan just better be a squadmate. I need my moral compass to guide and advise me. I would hope to know that before ME3 comes out.

This time i will wait to read all the Kaidan-related endings before i even think of buying the game. Yeah, I'm a sucker for the romances also. I'm addicted to BioWare's style of NPC's and its kinda ruined me for all other RPG's.

Just as Kaidan and Carth have ruined me for all other LI's.



I agree that the ME story for me now revolves around Shepard's romance with Kaidan. ME3 HAS to have a satisfying ending at least possible for them--it doesn't have to happen in all endings (like DAO and Alistair--several outcomes are possible depending on how you play the game). But I want them to be able to ride off into the sunset.



I don't know how I feel about wanting to know ahead of time if Kaidan is *gulp* sacrificed. I'm sure it would be a big epic moment. But it would be heartbreaking and it would also ruin the whole series for me. I don't know if I would want to know that going in or not.
