you get to Horizon while abductions are still in progress and its just a lucky break that KaidAn/Ash were among those that were still left.  plus indocrination takes time and continuous exposure.

It is called plot armor I believe. Never thought too much about that as there's not much to discuss unless you throw some plotting evil crap into the "discuss bucket". Edit: "Indoctrination" example just doesn't fit.

@Biotic Warlock - yes I wondered this - it was implied that they attacked Horizon because Kaidan/Ash was there - it seemed a personal attack on Shepherd and then they leave without taking him/her?? Seems a bit odd to me.

AH! That doesn't help. Can next winter get here? Like now? I think this is the most anticipation I've had for a game. I'm already planning on taking vocation days for the release. It's going to be me, my computer, ME3, and food stocks. Police might need to be called to make sure I'm still alive.

On a unrelated note. Did another play through of ME2 and drinking with Chakwas got me wondering. You catch the tail end of a story she was telling about Jenkins and Kaidan. You guys remember Jenkins? The red shirt who dies five minutes into the ME1 after telling you about his youth on Eden Prime. Anyways, Chakwas says that she thought "Kaidan's biotic display might have broken Jenkin's back." I was wondering how the hell Kaidan could have let loose enough to nearly injury someone like that. I just can't imagen him doing something as childish as showing off.

My theory is he was doing something: combat sparring or maybe moving something and Jenkins got in the way. But still it would have to be early on their time on the Normandy. Chakwas never served with Kaidan before that and from what I can tell, the Normandy had only just left port at the beginning of ME1. So what could have happened in the day or so before the opening of ME1.

Just me nitpicking again.

I was thinking if Shepard is captured and Kaidan has to save her then maybe he would go to Tuchanka to get Wrex to help and I could see Urz following him around too. I would love to see the wall of my prison destroyed and Kaidan, Wrex, and Urz standing there. I'm totally stuck in this dream world now where I get my original squad back plus my pet varren to share with Kaidan! Argh.

If we are already on the topic of nitpicking then I'd like to say that I'll have to politely disagree wtih Chakwas when she says that soldiers like Jenkins are what makes the Alliance great.

No, it's actually soldiers like Ash and Kaidan.

Regarding the "biotic display," I suspected Jenkins just pestered Kaidan for one until Kaidan relented, grudgingly.  The circumstances, as I might imagine them:

Jenkins: "Please?"
Kaidan: "No."
Jenkins: "Please?"
Kaidan: "No."
Jenkins: "Please?  Just a little one?"
Kaidan: "Drop it, okay?"
Jenkins: "Look, pretend I'm a bad guy, okay?"
Jenkins: *swings a punch*
Kaidan: "Gah!"
Kaidan: *biotic reflex*
Jenkins: *goes flying back*
Bystanders: "..." :? (and so on)
Chakwas: "Oh, WTF..."
Jenkins: "That was awesome!" 
Kaidan: "Oh, Thank God." 
Jenkins: "Man, that was so cool.  Give it to me again!" 
Kaidan: "NO!" 

I didn't think much of it before, but it could also be inconsistent character writing.

Reminds me of Aimo's comic Joker Shepard and Kaidan's reaction makes me laugh every time.

Yeah sometimes I wonder just how much is plot holes... <_<

@Quaay - yep, it was me nap time (one of these days, when I had a great deal more practice, I'm going to try and do a color drawing of that...and the one with Kaidan petting a kitten while slouching in an armchair, reading....one day...someday O_O)

Apparently, the Normandy crew (including Chakwas, I imagine) were written by the level designers because the writers proper didn't have the time.  Seeing as how whoever wrote Chakwas remembered that Kaidan, Ashley, and Jenkins exist and got her reasonably on track with her ME1 self, I can't really begrudge them much.

But then, poking at ME2's story too much is what sent me from "Eh, it's okay," to "Wow, this game is terrible."  I don't recommend it.

I guess I should put up my 'ye olde poking stick' before I make something bleed. Still I would have loved to see Kaidan knock Jenkins on his ass. Anyone really. Okay let's be honest, I just want to see Kaidan knock someone out.



Arg, Arrival and DA2 need to get here quicker. Hopefully whatever awesome we'll be seeing in the new DLC and Anders will keep me occupied until this winter. Doubt it...

I actually think it was into the character, I mean surely Kaidan jokes around a bit, here's how I see it. 
Jenkins kept nagging about Kaidan giving it to him, when Kai-bear finally decided to just do it, he went real easy on Jenkins, enough to knock him on his ass but no actual damage. Chakwas was watching and she of course exaggerated because she's like an old grandma...add a doctor to that, and she'd OF COURSE exaggerate...but yeah, and then everyone burst laughing and so on and so fourth. but that's just how I see it.

I think it's within the believable boundaries for his character, but it's kinda pushing against the "After Eden Prime, I'm not holding back anymore" sentiment, which could be taken to the extreme that, before Eden Prime, he didn't want to use them at all, least of all for a frivolous reason.

It could have been a lot different, too; he could have also been told to give a biotic demonstration by Anderson, so that the crew (who knows how many of them have seen a biotic in person) could know what they're looking at and wouldn't be afraid of it.

Hooray! This is awesome.
About throwing Jenkins - migraine and someone's constant irritating requests can cause an outburst. I agree that Chakwas is likely exaggregating, but who knows which part of Jenkins was damaged so she had to patch it:P.
And about what I was doing all this time - EA Russia apparently gave a role of intendant of Vigil's Keep to the VA of ME1 Kaidan. I'm a Grey Warden, and this is my favourite store in the Ferelden!

wait a second.  are you saying that Russian version of ME has actual voice over and not just text?  OMG.  where and how can I get it????  ok, now I have to find out who was the actor voicing Kaidan... eeek.

edited to add - I found some vids on youtube.   Kaidan and Joker sound so angry in intro O_O  and they promoted shepard to captain?  or I may just be confusing russian army ranks, its been too long :/
