from Christina Norman interview with gamer rant. notice a certain lack?

GR: Will players who opted to stay romantically involved with Liara or Ashley Williams from ME1 be rewarded for staying loyal?

CN: I can’t talk about any of the specific decisions or what they actually do. But what I can say is that decisions through all of the Mass Effect games, including the DLC, will matter for Mass Effect 3. And it’s not just like decisions that carried over from ME1 to ME2 will matter in ME3, they’ll be decisions in ME1 that did not visibly impact ME2 that will have an impact in ME3. What we looked at is the total story, everything that happened in Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 is real and matters, we let the writers draw on that as much as they want to customize the experience and to be pretty much without limits.

So this "GamerRant" is one of those people who chose the default option on the character selection screen and never knew you could play not as a soldier, or could customize your Shepard?

I'm more amused by Norman's response, but I guess that has little to do with Kaidan either.

I just checked Mass Effect web site seen that and was going to run here and post that to.
Don't you know we actually fans of Ashley "Kaidan Alenko" Willaims. The bad ass chick marine who wields an assualt rifle, isn't a biotic, and wears pink armor. FemShep doesn't exist either so why would John Shepard leave someone alive he couldn't bang. <_< (Sorry I am a bit pissy today, long hard day at work)
I guess it does get kind of old having to say "Liara, Ashley Williams, and Kaidan Alenko" very time you talk about the original LI. Honestly I would be happier if they called them both one name: The Virmire Survivor or the Alliance Officer, etc. At least then they can be equally ignored....

@Fire
That screen shots does make me laugh. The way Ash and Shep are looking at him makes me think they are both wondering what the hell he is doing.

To be fair, this "Gamer Rant" reporter did not even know that you can not play ME3 if Shepard died in ME2 and assumed that someone was just going to replace him/her.

But what if Shep is biotic to? Maybe it's a male thing? Or the flooring is tilted...

Playing both second time around with a new shep - just managed to trigger the above scene completely missed it first 2 times I played ME1. Played my first Shep as a pale blonde Gillian Anderson look alike as I wanted her to look like me - new Shep is darker skinned but it's difficult to see her face sometimes because of the shadows - not sure they got the shadings right on that. Playing as an adept when previously played a vanguard. Can't give up the biotics I find them so useful.

Hmm... trigger what scene =) maybe I've missed it too. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Yes this one:

Apparently you can only trigger it when you have Kaidan and Ash and first go to the wards - before you get to the medical clinic there's an area I always thought looked like a roller skating rink! if you walk up to the window there's a "scenic view" and a cut scene where Kaidan makes his first "slip up" - :)

Thank you guys =) I had missed that scene. I'll get it tonight, I'm just in that part of the game now. Does it have to be the first time you go to the wards or can it be the second? This will be the perfect cure for some workrelated mishap that got my mood a bit down. *Pretty please that I can still get it on my second stroll through the ward* =)

Completely pointless grumble, but I'm doing it anyway...........
That Christina Norman interview on GameRant that is being dissected in the ME general discussion area....
I'm cross with the idiot interviewer who asked about carrying over relationships with 'Liara and Ashley'...... Just assumed Kaidan is dead did you, dude?
Like I say pointless but still............... :/ *sulking*

As tempting as it is to renegade it, I find just going through the dialog bullrush more satisfying.

In my defence, I'm still reading through this thread that I didn't know existed until yesterday while speed working on 2 6 page minimum essays due today with an accompanying powerpoint for one of them to speak in front of the class on.

...Sanity...I think I might've had it at some point somewhere...
