Tali was the first confirmed squadmate. She was a huge part of the hype machine. Why? Because she was ragingly popular. They're going to do everything they can for the majority fans.

We're not majority fans; we get nothing. It's that simple.

I highly doubt they will put VS under the rug do to not being as popular as others.

Yes, but I don't recall now how deep into the development/hype cycle we were when we found that out.  If Kaidan is going to be a squaddie in ME3, we probably aren't going to be told about it for a while.

Have a hot chocolate or something. You'll feel better. Personally, I'm already reconciled to the fact that the best ME fanfic writers (Sinvraal and some of those in this thread) already write Kaidan better than Bioware, and nothing can take that away from us. So it could be worse. :-)

At this point, I'm not even angry. I've come to expect this.

The franchise means nothing to me anymore, including the Kaidan romance. It's like ME1 was an A/U fan-made game. I can liken it to reading a good fanfic then moving on.

Here's what he wrote back...

Totally not forgotten! I cant say more however :(

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Jesse!  We all needed to hear this today!:D

I found this on the Ashley thread, and I know we saw this statement a thousand times, but still, It's good to see it again, I guess...

Thank you for posting this. It gives us a little hope! Personally, my enjoyment of the game doesn't depend on whether Kaidan is in the game or not, but it definitely makes me sad that we saw so little of the VS compared to all the other ME1 squadmates in ME2 and its DLCs. I'm not giving up until ME3, that's for sure.

I'm still holding on for ME3...if the game doesn't give me a satisfying conclusion to Kaidan's romance, then I'm probably going to throw a tantrum and and and burst into tears.

I already lost all hope for Dragon Age after the quality of DA2's plot, I'm sorry guys, the engine might be awesome, the combat is good but I need a plot...no plot...then the game isn't for me. I don't play to blow stuff up or find creative ways to behead NPCs I need a good engaging story and I just didn't find that in DA2...I found a story with great potential but poorly executed.

So my last hope is ME3...if that doesn't work out then I dunno If I'll want to play anymore BW games.

You're welcome! ^_^
As others also said before, Mass Effect became a Kaidan and Shepard story for me, and I'll be really, really sad if it doesn't gets a nice ending.
And even if I'm not strong enough to refuse playing future Bioware games or ME3 because Kaidan might not be there, I'll just borrow or rent it in an act of protest.

Lair of the Shadow Broker allowed you to rekindle your romance with Liara. Will Arrival offer the same for the Virmire Survivor (Ashley or Kaidan)?
Unfortunately, no. I'm sad about this, but I hope it means that Kaidan/Ashley's role in Mass Effect 3 is super awesome.

Ok, feeling a bit better now. I am dissapoint, but maybe this means we get to see a quarter of his ass cheek as a reward for staying loyal in ME3? *shrugs*

Thanks for the article though (didn't read the second half, but it's still good to have).

So... since this mission unlocks only after you complete Horizon, it means Kaidan will definitely be mentioned, right?  Right???  That's really all that I want at this point.

I have to say that I love Kristine Steimer at IGN and her Kaidan-love because since she writes so many of the Mass Effect articles he always get a mention.

Shadow Broker unlocked after Horizon, and the VS only got a very brief (and, frankly, somewhat unpleasant) mention.

Once VS comes back in ME3( important squadmate and LI if is in ME1), will you Mass Effect franchise mean anything to you again?

I really don't get it why people even expected VS to show up in Arrival?
It was never even hinted.

Liara was included in a DLC, including romantic (and friendship) content.  It has been publically stated that "All LI's are treated equal".  By that measure, Ashley and Kaidan should get DLC at least covering the romantic angle if nothing else.

Personally, I don't expect them in Arrival, although it seems strange that Arrival contains so much from the VS DLC wishlist and doesn't include the VS.  I don't expect them to have that big a role in ME3 either, to be honest... but that's just me.

Yeah, disappointment here too. Posted Image Damn me for getting my hopes up.. Still clinging to optimism though, I keep telling myself that I don't want half-assed fan service. If they have a plan and that plan is best carried out in ME3, then so be it. I'm not worried. I'm not. Posted Image

I guess people think they're due, and when the DLC turned out to be Alliance, it felt natural to suspect the only lover still missing to return. It's been a long wait for the VS-fans...

I didn't expect the VS to be in the DLC either, I would have been plesentaly surprised had it happened but I wasn't expecting it.

I've learned the hard way not to get my hopes up over ME2 DLC.

I totally called it.

So I officially quit Mass Effect. I'll hang out on AKL because that's my group of peeps, but I'm done with BW as a whole. I'm going to use the site to socialize and that's it.

Perhaps there is some reason storywise for ME3 that they can't give the vs a dlc. Yeah, I know that's weak...a part of me just wishes they had done the Mass Effect series like Dragon Age...with a different hero in each game rather than playing Shepard each time. I know that's hard but at least I wouldn't be expecting to see the same LI each game and I wouldn't get dissappointed.
