Alright guys so I PM'd Jesse Houston to confirm the whole "the VS has not been forgotten" thing..

Here's what he wrote back...

Totally not forgotten! I cant say more however :(

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Jesse!  We all needed to hear this today!:D

I found this on the Ashley thread, and I know we saw this statement a thousand times, but still, It's good to see it again, I guess...

He can't say more?? Posted Image Total shocker!

Posted Image Thanks for posting this, ncvbrp!

I'm glad i stopped in to see this. i do not want the VS within a thousand miles of an achievement called The Ultimate Sacrifice, truthfully. and it heartens this eternal optimist that as the VS continues to be MIA, more and more fans - even sitting-the-fence-fans - are getting up in arms about it.

not real thrilled about waiting until december to see kaidan again, hoping against hope hackett has a note from him (maybe hackett can fix the "reply" button on shep's email???) but if the story turns out good, i can wait....impatiently.

edit: top o' page kaidan offering:

I agree...so long as the VS role in ME3 is big and important and I get a satisfying romance I'm okay with waiting...impatiently :P

I'd just settle for a hint that Kaidan/Ashley is alive and coming back in ME3 in Arrival. Maybe that's too much to hope for, but I'd be thrilled with that. If there's no mention of them again, welp, I won't be surprised, but I will know that I'm skipping this DLC.

i would love to hear a mention of them, too. lotsb was... well, i'm glad kaidan/ash wasn't in the SB's sh*tlist of people the dirty yaarg was watching, but i still wanted to hear something. and i've fully convinced myself that kaidan/ashley being left out of kasumi was probably because lotsb was slated to be part of the main game and so they probably recorded the kasumi dialog with the expectation shep could have made up with liara by then.

alright, so their ignoing of the VS has been an annoying oversight, but it all depends on ME3 for me. i guess it has to at this point. but i won't be skipping a DLC. i'm addicted enough to ME in spite of it's oversight of my favorite love story that i can't NOT. besides, if there's a chance to tell cerberus to F-off in this one, then i would buy it ten times over.

I was excited when I heard that Hackett would be in this one, but the preview did nothing for me.  Hearing that this DLC was made by Bioware Montreal made me wary too...no offense to them, but what made LotSB so great for me, despite the lack of VS, was the story and atmosphere.  This looks like the writing will be taking a back seat to combat again, and I can pass on that without regret.  I am glad I bought Kasumi and LotSB, but I could have skipped Overlord, for example.  I think this will be skippable for me again, unless they just haven't shown us the good stuff yet.  But who knows.  If I hear good things about it on the forum, I'll probably be back on board right away.

I'm not quitting Mass Effect and I'm buying this DLC because I FRACKING love the game...despite everything happening to my one and only Kaibear.

I am however going to protest and not buy games from BW if the ME3 role for VS isn't satisfying (Unless they make an exceptionally good game that would heal my broken heart)

So yeah...I'm excited for this DLC because of the conclusion it's supposed to give us and it's effect on ME3. i'm worried, but I'm hopeful that I'll have a few more hours of fun with ME2 before we begin the long, tedious wait for ME3.

I'm definitely skipping 'Arrival" (or any other dlc -__-') until I could get Kaidan back as squaddie and LI with (hopefully) a satisfying conclusion with him in ME3. If not, then my Shep's story will just end in ME1 and pretend that ME2 & the rest did not happened

So now I'll just throw my arms around Bethesda, sitting snugly together by the campfire waiting for Skyrim.
Honestly my faith in Bioware is starting to evaporate, thus don't really have high hopes for ME3 :( sparing me from the pain of being hopefull.

Sorry for being such a downer here -____-' but I just had to let it out

edit: better wording & smileys

I'm not so optimistic now about this "Arrival" DLC...:(

I want some "Kai love", why did they keep ignoring us? this isn't fair.

What's with the gloom and depressing posts in here...
Seriously? Arrival looks like a sweet DLC, even without Kaidan.

Mass Effect is a trilogy. Which is why I believe people should hold judgement AFTER ME3 is released. I know a lot of of you guys in this forum consider Mass Effect like a Shepard/Kaidan story. But it's not, it's a Shepard/Bust some Reapers' ass story.
Personally, I'm super hyped about this DLC, and ME3, because Bioware never let me down so far. If ME3 doesn't hold a nice conclusion to Shenko, I'll get over it if the plot blows my mind away. If not, THEN I'll be able to rage and say how much BW sucks on these threads.
And I'm confident that everything will turn out great :wizard: So Cheer up guys!

I have faith that there will be a lot of Kaidan in ME3...its just been a long wait already and we don't get anything to go on. We don't even know where he is! Citadel? Arcturus Station? If you had this awesome relationship just waiting in limbo with only 1 email to read over and over again with no way to respond or even know what planet your lover is on you'd freak out right? I think BioWare wants us freaking out for some reason. It's torture though.
*spoiler* In Arrival they say that Object Rho is out in the open and we see everyone indoctrinated turn on Shepard. So I hope Kaidan isn't stationed there. Hopefully the area of effect is small and doesn't effect everyone there though. I do want to play the DLC no matter what but some sliver of hope that Kaidan is ok wherever he is would be nice.

Sorry! The only thing I'm honestly qualified to comment on is Lair of the Shadow Broker, as it's the first credited thing I ever worked on at Bioware. (I arrived two weeks before ME2 shipped)

Well, thanks for responding anyway! :) I honestly wonder sometimes if anyone but the people posting on this thread actually read it. I had no idea LotSB was done so much later; I seem to remember someone saying something about Liara sound files hidden in the main game, but that could have been something else. Looking forward to Tuesday! :o

I agree, I don't think we should give up before ME3 gets here. Sure, Liara got a DLC, but she's the SB now, so it's highly unlikely that she will be a squadmate in ME3. On the other hand, keeping Kaidan (or Ashley) out of ME2 and the SM garantees that this character will be alive to (hopefully) have a larger role in ME3. And (also hopefully), no VS DLC = biggest role in ME3?

On another note, where to we post our prompt project entries?

Audio files were found on the ME2 disc pointing to the Liara Shadow Broker DLC when the game came out, here's a video someone made of them using ingame footage to illustrate it:

I guess the idea was always to follow up Redemption with Liara's DLC, but other than some audio, the real work had not been done yet when the game came out.

Yes indeed. I like Kaidan. I like the Mass Effect squadmates from both games. They all bring something interesting and/or fun to the table. (I know "I love everyone!" is a pretty boring answer, but it's how I feel)

And I totally, asbolutely cannot talk about Mass 3. At all. You guys just have to wait!

My pleasure. I don't always post but I occasionally lurk. (This'll be the last post of the day)

There are: I wondered about that too when I saw them. As it was explained to me, the ME2 team knew it was likely we'd do something with the Shadowbroker in DLC, so we stubbed in lines there because changing dialogue files after a game has shipped is a nightmare.
