All the bitterness in this thread is making me feel sad.

They said that "the VS [was] definitely not forgotten" so I'm still hoping for a reunion in ME3. It is sad that we don't see much of them in ME2 and I definitely think Horizon could have been written better (especially Shepard's dialogue), but I also understand that they may need some space after trying to mourn Shepard for two years, then learning that he/she is still alive and working for Cerberus and (understandably) assuming that he/she had left them and betrayed them. If they were really throwing the VS under a bus, I don't think they would have included them at all, or wouldn't have added the email and picture+cutscene for LIs.

But maybe it's just me. I won't give up hope until I'm certain without any doubt that Kaidan will not be in ME3, which won't happen unless a dev comes here and tells us so. Which they haven't.

So chin up, people! Please?

"in style of the DA2 the game starts with you being divested of your weapons, armor, and then being lead, cuffed to the cell. here you are stuck in jail, waiting for the trial, when the guard comes up and tells you, you have a visitor - and that visitor is VS. and they ask you - how could you Shepard. I really tried to believe you weren't the terrorist? but before you have a chance to explain, alarms start blaring...and its your crew, come to save you! (there would have to be a list, ala suicide mission, which crewmembers are more likely to come up and get you out) and while they are getting you out? they also take VS hostage, just cause they were there you know? and then you get to be on the opposite sides, with them prisoner and you talking....and that's how you reconcile your differences (or completely break off from them if you so chose) what happens next I have no clue, other then you are basically space Mal Reynolds, on a ran from everyone with no one to turn to and very little time to prove your innocence before reapers show up and its proven for you.. in a very bad way"

I think there might be some 'lost in translation', here.....
If you watched the interview with Jesse and the gameplay footage, he makes a big deal of how combat heavy Arrival is. I am guessing that when pulled up on this statement on Twitter he replies saying that they shouldn't have overdone the bit about it being combat heavy and downplaying the story behind Arrival because it has a good story............. That is my interpretation anyway.
I don't think the VS has been forgotten, I am visiting this thread less and less because it does bring me down a bit tbh. They didn't make Ash/Kaidan invincible in 2 for nothing.........I am not going to think the worst til I know the worst
And Arrival is rubbish imo ;P

That's what a lot of people said about Arrival.  Although I guess technically Ashley was in it, so you have me there. 



Although I don't doubt that Kaidan and Ashley will be in ME3 in some capacity, the question remains "what capacity?"  They could still be an "important" cameo.

I was hoping for something Kaidan related in Arrival and geesh, there was a lot of oppertunity to sneak in some sort of reference or whatever. To me Arrival feels like a connection to ME1 because of Hackett and thus I hoped for...something. But the whole DLC feels 'off'. Again I'm seeing potential and again it was brushed aside.
Have to say though that from the get go, this tiny, little DLC had my heart racing more than DA2 in all its glory did. The music and ambience etc were just great. I really thought there would be something in the end though and couldn't believe the DLC was over already. 

I didn't expect Kaidan to show up, mostly because a 560 point DLC is too small to bring in too many VA's and since they hired Henriksen, the budget was pretty much gone I think (Hence why Joker isn't heard either)
I DID expect there to be a reference because this was an alliance style DLC, or so I thought. But Hackett is pretty much flying solo on this one...that part of the story made little sense but oh well.
From the clip/interview I saw though, I got really excited but Arrival was nothing like I expected and it could have been. So far, this is the worst story based DLC for ME2 they've released if you ask me, despite the awesomeness that is Hackett. It felt rushed and frankly, I'm getting fed up with Bioware products feeling rushed to begin with. It is such a shame!!!!!

I will buy ME3 because, again, I want closure. I'm not going to read too much into Kaidan not being included in this DLC. Mostly because besides Joker, there's nobody else in it either. (and it was a mute Joker to boot.) Hence why it feels so 'off'. This could have been a great DLC, on par with LotSB if it was had more time and money put into it, Kaidan or not. Oh well, I do wonder about the consequences of cheating on Kaidan though...have a feeling it will have an impact on Shepard's upcoming 'trial'. I dunno.

This is what I'm worried about.  I saw the stills and don't think Kaidan is there from the back (and I REALLY don't want to think about the implications of the person of Virmire being alive in ME3), so if there's only one file, it means that Kaidan is apparently magically dead and Ashley is always alive???  Why even bother putting Ashley in there if they could not do two versions?

BUT, I'm still waiting to hear from someone who is willing to "fail" and had Kaidan alive in their game.  Maybe I'm overreacting.  Please, if anyone is willing to try this and see if the video is different, let us know!

Dunno if there will be such a thing, but my Shepard agreed to turning herself in to face the music after the ME2 mission is done. That's what I meant and I think that will be where the whole cheating on Kaidan thing could come into play.

It's just on my mind, how are they going to work in some effect created by cheating on your LI...hmmm. Because cheating on has little to do with all the crap that's coming Shepard's way Or maybe it's just Kaidan being recruitable or not in ME3...but again how to justify him not rejoining the crew because Shepard broke his heart?

sometimes i think that they did this (not recruitable LI) just to have all the triangle thing in ME 3 so its not about punishment or something just to have more content

I am not buying it due to ashley not being in it but since Ash/Kaiden are in essence the same character I feel your pain.

Problem with that is, that there are a LOT of LI's to really get some in depth triangle story going for 1 of them. Especially since romances are just so 'small' on the overall scale. Which is why I sorta hoped there would be something in Arrival so the VS got a little bit of the spotlight to kickstart whatever is coming in ME3.

After playing DA2, counting the number of LI's in that game and viewing how much romantic content there really is and then taking into account how many LI's there are for ME3....I do wonder how much depth we'll be getting for the Kaidan/Shepard conclusion.
Not trying to be negative, just really wondering where it's going now that there won't be any more story based DLCs for ME2

Hmmm.... I'm not that worried. I think that ME3 will bring Kaidan back and all will be good. I didn't get arrival because it feelt like more action and less story. I waited for DA2 and now I'm having a ton of fun with it =) If you really feel sad and blue I guess you want to talk about it. Me, I get so little time for my games that in general I'm just happy when playing and being on the forum. A little time of the day just devoted to having fun and not working my butt of in the lab or writing papers. Cheer up =) dig up a old save of some fav mission or convo and play it for lolz. Have fun in the tread, hubby just left the cool gamecomputer so now my second Hawke is waiting for me =)

Good call And I'm really looking forward to seeing/hearing Kaidan return in ME3 later this year. Geesh, so many years passed since the moment I fired up ME1 for the first time till the moment I'll be done with ME3...pretty amazing  Which is prolly why we care so much!

I dunno. This whole Arrival DLC thing and how DA2's companion stuff worked, I've lost a lot of respect for BW and hope for ME3. I remember Christina Norman talking about how if you had a ME2 LI and Liara was your ME1 LI, that in LotSB you'd have some explaining to do. From what I understand, that wasn't any big deal either. So I can't believe anything that the devs say anymore.

I will buy ME3 for closure only. If they make good on promises, great. I'll be back onboard with BW. But for now, the only game I am looking forward to is The Old Republic, and that's because I have faith in Lucasfilms, not in BioWare.

That IS Kaidan, I'm sure of it And Ash. But um...what does that scene mean?

Edit : imo..it's Kaidan...Mordin....Garrus with Tali in front of him most likely...Ashley....TIM with Miranda in front of him...Jacob...Joker...Kelly and...um...either Grunt or Wrex but judging by the bulky armor, most likely Wrex?

Nice pics and it looks like ashley is to the left of the guy in the middle which I believe is Illusive Man is it not....him standing next to your entire squad is weird though since hes always hiding. At least we know who the far right person is haha.
