Elysis, that towel is evil.. It's got to go.

And soren, can't wait to see it..!

By the way, I wasn't too impressed with Arrival but I thought there would be no VS at all in it after reading early reports. In that vision, Ash actually seemed to be quite the lead (I saw her 4 times I think, and she was better lit and more clearly shown than the others) which hasn't been mentioned here.

I know it's not much, but it's still a huge difference from not even being mentioned in a discussion about your LI with Liara. I would have faith either way, I was surprised is all. Isn't this a good sign?

Wait, Kurt, what vision? You mean the one where Shepard gets zapped by Object Rho?

*tries frantically to recall*

I don't remember seeing the VS at all in that. It came across as very fast and confusing; mostly what I remember seeing are the Reapers. Or do you mean something else?

Nah, if you let the timer run out, you see a vision of the Reapers getting through and so on. You see some of your squad, TIM and Ash (maybe Kaidan as well, that's still debatable) on Illium staring at a Reaper.

Doodle's done.

Awesome, Soren! Yea my Shepard is a paragon but if someone teased her like that they'd get airlocked for sure. Let that be a lesson to BioWare if they screw up Kaidan in ME3!

I just figure it out to, THIS only happens if you fail to stop the Reapers. You see Ashley. I watched a slowed down verison. Doesn't look like Kaidan is there.

Ashley:

Guy on the left, seemingly in Horizon armor who may or may not be Kaidan in the same shot as Ashley.

From a video that allegedly plays if you fail the mission timewise and the Reapers arrive.

is that Illium? why the hell they are on Illium? o_0

and the guy is actually Kaidan, some said that he was Thane, but Thane is more stilized than Kaidan and I can almost see his hair bump.

that is or I'm blind and crazy...

It's definitely not Thane since he's got a distinctive silhouette between his head shape and his cut of clothing.  That person's clearly wearing armour.

We can both be blind and crazy.  If it's not Kaidan, then it's "random human guy in Horizon armor who looks like Kaidan."

And, yeah... Illium I guess: because the skyscape looks cool?

I thought it was Thane at first in that picture too since his jacket has those shoulder ridge things... but then the clothing seems too thick to not be Kaidan's armor. Either way I'm annoyed that they didn't swap Ashley/Kaidan in that vision depending on which one you saved.

yeah, but it was nice to see Ash instead of other character (like Miranda or Liara, they seems to be the favourites of Bioware ), I mean, she's there (Miranda)...but I only saw a part of her.

So that's enough for me...besides I have a male shep that romanced Ash, so he's waiting for her too XD!

Well at least they have a clear shot of one of the survivors. I am surprised I did not see Tali or Liara. After I watched the slowed down version, it appears the person standing in front of Garrus is Dr. Chakwas.

I know some were thinking it was Tali in front of what might be TIM in that second posted picture, but I'm just not seeing her distinctive hip silhouette.  I'm just pleased that we have a potential silhouette of Kaidan and Ashley got some screen time again in some form.

I'm willing to say that's the most insignificant screen-time ever. Sorry, blurred silhouettes during a quick vision of doom? With TIM in it? Come on. Not motivating.

I understand putting Ashley on focus, because she's very characteristic to the franchise. Kaidan is still not good enough. He's there, just pushed somewhere, because everyone are equal in death. No, not complaining, just putting my two cents...

I agree that as far as screen time went, it was sucky.  They could've easily thwacked on a little appearance on at the end with a short dialog wheel or interrupt to at least throw us a better bone.  But something's better than nothing and we have yet to see what's going to happen for ME3.

I've been thinking about the lack of VS DLC(not that its going to stop me from enjoying ME3, one must save the galaxy and all that...) and I'm thinknig maybe we started really pushing a little too late. I was definately suprised when ME3 was announced so early, even more so to find out we are getting it this year. IMO the Devs could have already written/started animating Kaidan's scenes for 3 before there was such a huge push for some DLC and I'm assuming that the way the scenes have been written wouldn't make any sense had the VS met with Shepard earlier in added content. The only way it could work would be a brief 'hello' or like this, a vision of them, as the actual reunion scene and continuation/ending of the relationship might just already be tackled in 3...

I'm just thinking that since the announcement is for a release this year, BioWare must have been developing way back as soon as ME2 was out of the bag...they are very good at keeping hush about things.

Just my thoughts and I'm an eternal paragon who must find a silver lining or failing that, draw her own (WITH A SHARPIE!)

To me, most everything about Arrival screams rush job.  Had it been something on the order of LotSB or even Overlord as far as length and detail, I'd be kvetching differently about things.

From what I vaguely remember, work on ME3 pretty much started once ME2 went live.  Much of the work as far as engine and graphic assets was completed with the ME2 port to PS3 and freeing up more that can be put towards other avenues.  As much as some have already said elsewhere on the forums that Bioware could get away with a lackluster Kaidan handling in ME3 since it's the last of the series and nothing can be done, let's really just sit down and look at this as adults.

It really makes no sense that a corporation that's already gone through the work of creating it's own intellectual property, has repeatedly and clearly stated that there's more they want to do with that property once the Shepard trilogy's over.  It makes no business sense for them to alienate part of their known to be particularly loyal customers.

I don't know what the average age of forums goer is here, but shuffling around the assorted topics, some are acting like it's a single Snydley Whiplash type making all the calls.  A company doesn't work like that.

Yeah, fanbase kvetched about having Garrus and Tali being made LIs, but considering Tali was originally on the table as a LI for ME1, actually fairly little was needed to just thwack on some extra dialog and such for what was already established as going to happen in ME2.  I can't remember where in the forums it is, but there was an interview with one of the devs over keeping track on choices over the course of the games to ME3 and they've got spreadsheets to cover everything from major characters to the minor ones.  They do look at the forums to gauge basic interest to help delinate resources.

This, of course is not saying they're directly looking at the forums as the end all be all of decisions.  In the grand scheme of things, the forums here are just the really vocal minority compared to how many others bought the assorted versions of the game and could care less about the forums.  Equally we're not the only forums out there and it's pretty common for a company to have someone keeping an eye around to get a more varied viewpoint.

Overall we don't know how far work's come along with ME3, other than I think one of the main VAs (EDI's perhaps?) tweeted that they were starting thier recording in March.  To me that says most of it's already done save for some character work.  We can keep letting our interest of Kaidan be known as ferverently as possible so Bioware knows of it along with make any adjustments while they can to give him and us the re-appearance that's been too long in the waiting.

i can't wait when they start to say something more about ME3. Well this time i want only know if Kaidan will be a squadmate, too much information about ME2 ruined that game for me as if lack of Kaidan wasn't enough

My guess is either after the reveal of Game Informer's next issue (all I know of it that the cover story is for a highly anticipated sequel, so it may or may not be ME3 related) or durring/after E3 2011.

And hey hey, Kaidan's got a Twitter (not sure about his VA though):
http://twitter.com/Kaidan_Alenko

Also, if any of y'all have a GaiaOnline account, feel free to join the Mass Effect guild I'm a part of (link in sig it you're intrested). It's full of great people from all over, and if one of you joins then I won't be the default most Kaidan obsessed fan there! (However, I'll probably still be the mascot)
