Yeah, it does say "to some extent."  But the fact that he's actual in the promotional material is promising.  I've been negative for almost a year now, I can stand to be optimistic, especially when given something pretty solid to go on.

It is lovely though, after so much uncertainty to hear something...... Annoying that some folk are all ''Gargh, why hasn't *insert name of squad mate who wasn't dumped for ME2 here* been mentioned, I'm going to rage if they aren't in it'', I'm sitting there thinking WHAT???....... My son called me at work to tell me that Kaidan is going to be a squad member and I literally was overjoyed. He was my favorite ME character besides Garrus. I'm beyond thrilled. I hope they write a really good romance for him for us Kaidan faithfuls.

It is hard for me to put into words how happy I am about ME3 but just having Kadian and Garrus back is icing on the cake. For me, "Shepard" and the epicness of the story resonate more than any of the romances but knowing that Kaidan is going to be around in ME3 in the squadmate capacity has me so excited.

Sentinel Shepard+Kaidan+Miranda= team PWNED. I wonder if Kaidan will have Neural Shock as a skill, he was money with it in ME1.

The "to an extent" part makes me wonder if it would be something like what we saw in DA2 ... certain events happen which cause some of the characters to become unavailable, i.e. Bethany/Carver joining the wardens/chantry/circle, for a portion of the game but maybe coming back in the end?

Hmm, Kaidan's new armor looks pretty good.

Also interesting that they are opting to promote Shepard with the Mattock as his main weapon... I wonder why.
