It's fun to speculate since there are so many. Trying to figure out where it's going and stuff, well where Kaidan is concerned mostly. Can't wait for more information, what's next on the agenda?

I'm sorry and maybe I'm reading too much into it, but this sounds a lot like people who would say - I hope I can punch/kill/refuse VS in the beginning of the game, becasue I don't like them.

I hope that ME2 character fans don't have to go through what Kaidan/Ash fans went through with ME2.  becasue it sucked (not ME2 specificaly, bath rather having your favorite characters written badly and then pushed to the sidelines).

plus, you won't be able to experience all the array of choices in one game anyways.

Yea, you totally misunderstood.  I said I'm hoping a character isn't so important that it means missing out on content if they aren't in your game for whatever reason. If you miss out on some Cerberus mission because of no Miranda or Jacob, miss out on some Flotilla stuff because of no Tali, miss out on Geth stuff because you sold Legion. There's so many variables to deal with I don't know how they'll do it. It would be cool if Tali could be replaced by Kal'Reegar but he can die too. How do you replace Legion though? Some other platform finds you? I just don't know how they will incorporate all the choices without gimping our content.
I never said I didn't like any of them lol. Miranda and Tali are love interests for 3 of my characters. I have a ton of characters and it will be awesome if they have DIFFERENT content...but I won't be happy if I'm missing hours of content on some playthroughs.

I kind of wonder if some of the characters are going to be a bit interchangable depending on who survived. I get that there are going to be character-specific missions that you miss out on if they died, but if Shep's going to be rallying the galaxy and goes to say, the Krogans, a mission will involve Wrex, or if he's dead, modified with Grunt, and if they're both dead, might be completely different or not available at all.

The GI article got me really excited, but I'm trying to lower my expectations so I don't get disappointed. It seems very complex, but I think because it's the final chapter of Shepard's story, it won't be so open ended that players won't be satisfied.

And I still can't stop smiling about Kaidan being back, and my husband totally doesn't get it. He romanced Liara in his Paragon playthrough but dumped her for Tali and didn't look back. He has a renegade playthrough where he went with Ashley, so he was a bit excited to see how that plays out. Both times, he left Kaidan on Virmire. I think he's jealous

@ Quaay - actually, I think it would be in character for bioware to do that... like Feros mission, if you kill Shiala - you don't get her quest and as a result, you also don't get a discount on maps. or if you keel the rachni - you don't get a visit from the queen's messenger.

I do hope that content and its availability varies depending on who you have, who has survived and I believe they said that what you have available to you will vary depending on which team members you have recruited/brought with you (something they toyed with before, but it sounds like its going to be taken to the next level) I like it because it means that the game is extremely replayable and that your choice actually truly mean something in a long run. I believe that if Wrex is dead, you still get to deal with Wreav, but since you don't have the same friendship - it might be tougher if not impossible to convince him to help... or it will take different measures

@ ebidebby - are you sure he wasn't just following http://tvtropes.org/...waysSaveTheGirl ?

@ Chignon...I beleive that this was the first poll I haven't been able to automaticaly vote for Kaidan in O_O  as much as I love Sbarge's voice....there's just something about Hacket.... I cannot help it >_>

I had a bit of trouble, cause yeah Kaidan is my baby but I also adore Anderson, and Garrus, and Mordin, and HACKETT!!

Bioware specifically says that they don't want to punish people for losing some of their squad.  They said in the GI article that they want it to be different, not worse.  So, I don't think you have anything to worry about there.

Yes...please be connected...please please please...Actually I kind of thought the fact that Liara and Kaidan were standing next to Shep in the picture in GI might mean that they were the two main characters with Shep like Ash/Kaidan in ME1 and Miranda/Jacob in ME2...in ME3 it would be Ash or Kaidan/Liara...what did they call them the protagonist of the story.

I have to replay...my canon Shep only has four survivors as I recall.

The game certainly plays out differentlty that's for sure...didn't have Isabela in one of my playthroughs for DA2 and it made a huge difference in knowing what was going on. And even thought I couldn't stand Sebastion, his stroryline did add lot to the chantry side of things.

My thinking is if Legion died you might not be able to enlist Geth help and it might affect the outcome of the game(and so on)...they said there were multiple endings.

I wouldn't say it's punishment, but offering a greater challenge for those who specifically aimed for it.  I know a guy who's got at this point 20+ ME2 playthroughs with another currently going on just to see all options possible for ME3.

It's odd, even though I want to return to making a new Shenko piece...I'm rather reluctant in doing so, because I'm not sure just how much Kaidan as changed. That scan doesn't reveal much other than his armor. I was under the impression that it was just an artist interpretation of Kaidan rather than an actual screenshot -- could be wrong. Ashley is a knockout with the long hair she has, but part of me wonders if after two games of her iconic bun, if they're really going to change her default look. If they're not changing her hair, kinda cruel to tease the Ashley fans like that. =p

And it doesn't really matter what Kaidan is wearing in your pieces. The fans live through your fantasy of the connection between Kaidan and Shepard. Even if Kaidan never wears the captain outfit, it's fun to see him in an office thinking about Shepard because that's totally what we want him to be doing! =D But I hear ya on inspiration and the need for an outlet. I deleted my canon in both games. Restarting allllll over again.
