The game certainly plays out differentlty that's for sure...didn't have Isabela in one of my playthroughs for DA2 and it made a huge difference in knowing what was going on. And even thought I couldn't stand Sebastion, his stroryline did add lot to the chantry side of things.

My thinking is if Legion died you might not be able to enlist Geth help and it might affect the outcome of the game(and so on)...they said there were multiple endings.

Arrrrggggg....3 pts and she still does not return.....i never thought she would be that hard to get (no, i dont mean THAT WAY lol)
I have only 1 member dead in my ME2 pts and that was by accident....
I may have to kill some more to see the differences :)

@Lehna: I could not romance Kaidan and then move on to another LI. All me imported games are with him as a LI and i remained faithfull. I tried the other romances with a new char tho and then deleted them :)

In one playthrough Mordin died, because I didn't pay attention while chosing the people for the right missions...*sighs*
I tell you it made me cry when he died and my Shepard stood at his casket, so I reloaded and fixed it. I wouldn't have fixed it, it I had really chosen the way, but I did not want him dead, just because stupid me pressed the wrong button ;P

All my Shepards stayed faithfull to Kaidan as well...lol...how can anyone not stay faithfull, afer looking into those chocolate brown eyes...:wub::wub:

@Jho...I was wondering often as well, what Shepard would wear beneath the armor. I'm sure she wears more than underwear, it would feel otherwise very uncomfortable at least imo:P

In ME1, with the armor she wears, it looks like she only wears underwear beneath.....you know...very tight armor ....
TOP....someone post a picccccccccc....

magazine sounds good - can't get it here (UK) - well can order it off ebay but the postage is about $12.

I'm about to romance Garrus with my second shep I played through ME1 with her to do this as I'm curious if there is going to be a show down in ME3 with Kaidan. Didn't think Horizon would bother me this time round but oh yes it still cuts.

I love Garrus, I bring him along every single time, I was even angry he didn't have more friendship dialogue in ME2...but I couldn't bring myself to romance him on my single Shepard...I was interested in seeing how it worked out pre-release but when it came down to it, Garrus is just too much of a brother to my Shepard :)

I have no problems what so ever staying faithful in ME2. Have to say you get that whole sad and alone vibe in ME2 without Kaidan. Specially when Shepard is alone in her cabin and stares at Kaidan's picture, I mean she decides to be on her own before the storm and not with her friends or crew. I've sorta accepted the whole ME2 Kaidan cameo stuff by now, though I feel sorry for Shepard who has to fix so much and doesn't really have someone to confide in anymore. Poor thing.

My Squad in ME2 was mostly Garrus and Miranda (her after I have finished my first playthrough) and Garrus is like a brother for my Shepard as well. The only thing I wished, is like you already said it, Jho - more friendship dialogues and some words after the meeting on Horizon...I don't want to discuss Horizon, but it always dissapointed me that non of the old crew said something about it...

I really choke any playthrough when Shepard is alone in her cabin, before the final battle and staring at Kaidan's picture. It makes me sad, but the same time it gives her the strength for the final battle.
And at last it gives her hope, In a way it made me feel like in "Gone with the wind" when Scarlett is saying at the end of the movie "Tomorrow I'll think of some way . . . after all, tomorrow is another day."
First destroying the Collector Base and then trying to working on the relationship with Kaidan ^^

So, I got my GameInformer today. Two things:

1. Kaidan is not gray from what I can see. It's a high contrast photo.
2. Kaidan appears to be wearing Alliance dress blues under his armor, as you can clearly see the collar. I assume that this will be his default outfit.

Unless uniforms in the future are all exceptionally comfy, I say he was putting that armor on in a hurry :D (I always imagined they're wearing some kind of protective suits under armors, but who the hell knows).
And yeah, for me this armor seemed black too after gawking on it like an hour...

Yeah he looks great :) Wonder how the whole dress uniform thing will work underneath all that armor though, can't be comfy lol Always wondered what Shepard is wearing underneath her armor as well if you look at her collar.

My guess is that it's not supposed to be a full dress uniform under the armor, but just armor designed to reflect his superiour rank.  The fact that it's blue and has the gold stripes running down the front as well as gold trim around the shoulders reminds me a lot of the dress uniforms.  (I know the stripes down the front look white in the pic because it's so washed out, but I think they're suppoosed to be gold).  So I think the collar is just built in to the armor, as a sign of rank.
I can't remember the exactly where in ME2 it's mentioned, but Kaidan outranks Shepard in the Allience now, doesn't he?  Maybe his rank plays a part in the story in ME3, so his armor could be designed to reflect that.  (Gah, I'm dying for ME3 already, so long to wait!)

Who romanced Garrus in ME2? I would really like to see Kaidan jealous in ME3. :P

Yeah, I totally romanced Garrus.

I imagine my Shep spent many hours pacing back and forth in her loft, rehearsing what she was going to say about Horizon the next time she saw Kaidan. If it were possible to drunk-dial with an ansible, I'm pretty sure she would have; probably after a long night of cocktails with Kasumi in the Port Observation Lounge. (Sample conversation: "And then... get this... then he sends me an email, saying he 'doesn't know who either of us is anymore.' Argh!")

The letter was good and touching and all, but it just wasn't enough. I died, damnit. Now I'm trying to break free from an evil organization who spent 4 billion creds on me, and you don't even want to help? I didn't expect you to come with me, but would a simple "Ok, I'll try to trust you for now." have been so hard?

(Had to watch Horizon again to get myself back into character. Yep. Still mad about it. Less mad, but still mad.)

If you want to read about all my imaginary video game emotional pain, I wrote a long blog about my ME1&2 romantic arc. I am not looking foreword to the choice I'll have to make in ME3, but Kaidan still makes my heart skip a beat, damn him.

If you just want some nostalgic Kaidan Jealousy, here's a cute video about the ME1 Triangle. (Skip about halfway through if you don't need the setup.)

Hi
Have question..is there in magazine any hint, that we will have option to end officially relationship between Shep/Kaidan, or every " loyal" Sheps saves will means, that they automatically have to be in romance with Kaidan by whole ME3?

not as of now.  however, they do mention that the choices you could make will be extensive and I suppose that could extend to relationships.  I'm not 100% sure on this one,as I haven't actualy tried it myself, but I believe you can end Me2 relationships even after consumation?   letters from both Ash and Kaidan were open ended enough to suggest that you'd have to either actively renew the relationship... or end it for good.. bear in mind, this is just me theorizing, nothing of this nature has been confirmed yet.

I think "cheating" part means tough time and some wiggling needed to figure out the old vs new relationship situation.

There's no hint of that in the magazine, as there are no hints of how characters developed between ME1->ME3.

I think you can assume that - if authors want to make ME3 stand-alone-ish episode as ME2 - there will be an option to "pick up" or "drop" the romance if it was initiated. "Pushing" new players into the romance while they weren't playing ME1/ME2 would be confusing.

Does this thing I wrote make any sense?

Yep complete sense. I think for those who "cheated" in ME2 there might be a confrontation similar to the triangle in the first game where you had to pick one. I doubt that if the player cheated in the second game it will kill the first relationship dead as it would upset to many players.

And yet Bioware says they want choices to have certain consequences. If you went for a different LI, you made a choice. I find it odd how it would upset a player who made the choice to experience a different romance and can't go back to Kaidan in ME3...that player made the choice to move on and thus 'broke up' with his/her old LI from ME1. I mean, if you want the confrontation like in ME1 between Kaidan and Liara and then make your choice in ME3...again you had the choice in ME2..you either wait for your ME1 LI and hope you can fix it in ME3(because we all knew they were coming back)...or you enter a new romance. It isn't a one night stand thing either, you have to actively go after a character so that's no excuse.

Part of me will frown if Kaidan just accepts it if, for example, it was because of the circumstances Shepard ended up in bed with say Thane he will forgive you and take you back if you break up with Thane...just like that.
What I can see is that players who didn't romance Kaidan in the first two games, might have a shot with him in part 3 if they are not involved with anybody else. (or are new to the franchise) Or players who broke things off at the end of ME2..(and the portrait goes up again)...might be able to continue the original romance. Dunno how that whole portrait up and down flag works.

And yes, I'm aware a lot of people don't consider it cheating so my views prolly belong somewhere with the minority. It's just how I view it *shrugs*

It's odd, even though I want to return to making a new Shenko piece...I'm rather reluctant in doing so, because I'm not sure just how much Kaidan as changed. That scan doesn't reveal much other than his armor. I feel like I need to go along with the 'new' Kaidan but I don't know what he looks like...does he have a darker 5 o'clock shadow? Has he aged or been made younger? Has his hair really changed or is it lighting? Frustrating ;)

I was under the impression that it was just an artist interpretation of Kaidan rather than an actual screenshot -- could be wrong. Ashley is a knockout with the long hair she has, but part of me wonders if after two games of her iconic bun, if they're really going to change her default look. If they're not changing her hair, kinda cruel to tease the Ashley fans like that. =p

And it doesn't really matter what Kaidan is wearing in your pieces. The fans live through your fantasy of the connection between Kaidan and Shepard. Even if Kaidan never wears the captain outfit, it's fun to see him in an office thinking about Shepard because that's totally what we want him to be doing! =D But I hear ya on inspiration and the need for an outlet. I deleted my canon in both games. Restarting allllll over again.

And Jho, He doesn't really have to be wearing much of anything if you get my drift;)

And Gilsa I agree...looks more like an artists rendering that a screenshot.

Sheesh, I wonder if there will be new romances in ME3, too. Can you imagine going through ME1 and ME2 romanceless just to have a save ready for ME3? =p (I'd probably do it though!)

That would be romance overload in my opinion but you never know with Bioware. Be funny if one of the consequences for cheating was that one of the acheivements was for keeping the same LI through all three games. I'm not one of those that tries to get all the acheivements but I know some people live fot that sort of thing...probably drive them crazy if they didn't have a save where they stayed loyal...course I guess it would add to the replay value of all 3 games.

I agree, I have multiple saves loyal/cheater etc just to see what will happen more than anything. I would very much like to see my choices have large consequences in 3 but I just cant see it happening especially when it comes to Li's.

I agree. Hell in Jacob's romance she can actually admits she is lonely, the one major thing I liked about that romance. You see it when she stares at Kaidan picture, but also when Liara leaves Shepard quarters after LotSB. Poor thing needs some love. Preferably Kaidan love.
