Kaidan and MIranda would make a great pairing, although I admit my bias for a Kaidan/Ashley couple. Sadly it'll never be. :(

I know...Kai and Ash would go good together

my cannon world would be Shep/Liara and Kai/Ash...but Virmire ruins that!!

I quite like Kaidan/Miranda, obviously. You have two rational people with somewhat, though not identical temperaments, who are fiercely loyal to organizations that don't deserve them and have very different morals. I think they'd get along fine once they get past their initial distrust.

Yes, I feel like Miranda has many of the traits that Kaidan would find attractive in Shepard...she's definitely adventurous, she's a natural leader, and she cares deeply for her cause. The Cerberus/Alliance conflict would obviously be a roadblock, but depending on the ending of ME2, it's not as much of a problem, and even if she were still affiliated with them, it could be written as interesting tension.

I like them both, though, so I like the idea of characters I like having relationships beyond the main character. Kaidan/Ashley could be pretty interesting too.

I'm the odd one out then, none of the other female cast of ME really strike me as the type for Kaidan. MAYBE Chakwas if she was much younger. Hell, in a way I'm not 100% on Shep and Kaidan staying together. Ekk! Don't hurt me!! It kills me to say that, but when they are not riding on the high emotional roller coast of battling the Reapers, could they actually find a way to be together? I'm not saying Shep and Kaidan don't love each other. Just how could they make their relationship work? Kaidan isn't just going to retire and Shepard sure as hell isn't either. What are they going to do post ME3?

When everything is said and done I would expect Kaidan to settle down was a 'normal' woman. I expect Kaidan with a woman in a driven career, doctor, lawyer, businesswoman. A woman who won't gun someone down in cold blood or can go a year without getting blown up. Someone who is going to wait for him back home.

I'm not apposed to the idea of KaidanXAsh or KaidanXMiranda, they just don't feel right to me.

I kind of hate myself right now for this post... :?

Don't get me wrong, i'm one of those people who LOVES every character in ME1 and ME2. I might like some characters more than others, but I love them all.

I really have an attachment to Miranda, ever since I saw her tell tIM to eff off and die twice. Her loyalty mission happens to be my 2nd favorite mission right after Samara's. It was really touching seeing her like that.

However my Shepard belongs to Kaidan and Kaidan belongs to Shepard.

What I'm saying is: I'm so effing biased LOL.

I agree with your opinions, that yes, Shepard and Miri have a lot of traits in common; but I have to disagree about some fundamentals. Shepard and Miri are leaders, but Shepard is the kind of leader who want everybody to trust her, and be loyal to her. She'd sacrifice efficiency if it meant endangering her people, basically she does things the right way not the fast way; she doesn't cut corners. Miri in my opinion is more of an efficient leader, but she would sacrifice people to get the job done, she'd do ANYTHING to get the job done...at least that was Miri imo before she worked with Shepard. I'm hoping that working with Shepard taught her otherwise...

Again, I'm talking from my opinion, in my canon, with my Shepard. :)

Why, actually, I feel the same. That's why I ask the question. Miranda and Kaidan don't appear to me a great pairing. I try to understand the view of others, but for now I'm not convinced. They don't feel right to me.

It's the same for Kaidan/ Ashley.
I see them like brothers, not a couple, even if shep isn't with Ashley.

Thing is, that Kaidan could fall for any variety of paragon or renegade Shepard doesn't do a lot to discount the other squadmates (or NPCs in general). The malleability of Shepard makes it nigh impossible to determine what Kaidan's "type" even is.

... other, I guess, than not unrepentantly anti-alien without a high enough charm/intimidate rating.

I actually don't agree with you entirely...

It solely depends on how you interpret Kaidan and Shepard. it would be hard, for sure, for them to be together if they both stayed soldiers, but a 'normal' woman won't understand, appreciate, or know how to deal with Kaidan. My Shepard doesn't want to stay 'Commander Shepard' for the rest of her life, she told Grunt so. So yeah, I see them settling down eventually, but even if they don't, I don't think Kaidan does actually fit with the 'Mrs. Alenko back home' criteria.

Now, "Mrs. Alenko" kicking reaper hides is another thing...:D

I hate myself for saying that Shep and Kaidan might not end up together. But I very much agree about Kaidan and Ash. I seen them as more big brother/little sister. My opinion on that comes from ManShep version of the Wards scene in ME1. Kaidan kind of scolds Ash for her comment to Shepard.

Then Ashley and Kaidan's personality seem too opposed to me.

Yes, I am strengthened in my opinion with this video, but it's especially the interactions between Kaidan and Ashley in the game, in the elevators that make me think that. :)))

Brother and little sister. The first calm, wise, the second impulsive and impetuous.

@ Red and Mizz - I kind of agree and disagree with both views... because war changes you. The view that Kaidan will never retire and Shepard will never stop being Shepard, I have a problem with because ... First, death does change you, so once Shepard has finished with the Collectors and the Reapers ... it will change... plus the fact that After you save the universe... There isn't much that could top that. From Kaidan's point of view, if he gets Shepard back after loosing her to death, is he really going to look at this differently.

Will it work, who knows... In my head it will - in real life it might... depends on who changes and how much. Depends on how intense the feelings were.

Ultimately - it depends on who is holding the pen..

*evil grin* (okay that may or may not be my evil grin.... probably not)

When it comes to "Zody" Shepard I completely agree. If I was writing Shepard I would say they settle on some remote colony where no one knows who they are and live out the remainer of their years in obscurity with a handful of rugrats. But Bioware writes Shepard. I know there is going to be multiple endings for ME3 but I seriously doubt my ending will be among them. I'm sure, beside a "everyone DIES" ending, they would leave it open ended enough to say for ourselves what happens to Kaidan and Shepard after the endgame with the Reapers.

But then again games in the past have pulled that "happily ever after" rug out from under me several times. Once with Revan leaving behind Carth and the known galaxy never to be seen again. Or the Warden also disappearing. Can I get at least one character who stays home getting old and fat?

LOL, this reminds me of my entry for a "worst possible ending" contest that I made:

I'm all for an open ended epilogue.  One of my Shepards would be perfectly happy settling down, the other one, not so much...

Speaking of Miranda and Kaidan, would anyone like to do a "does this make sense" check for the outline of a Miranda/Kaidan story. My beta isn't a Kaidan expert.

I'd say yes, but since it sadly looks like my oldest cat may not be here for much longer, I don't think I should commit to anything now.Posted Image

I don't blame them for Revan because in StarWars comic, Revan DOES disappear...so yeah.

The warden..hmm...in my canon, my warden doesn't disappear, I refuse to believe she does. But, yes, Geider is evil...we established that.

I think Mac Walters will give us the option to a sappy picket fence ending, or as picket fence as Shepard could get...because he gave us the option in ME2 (save everyone) so yeah...but I swear to god, if Shepard disappears, I'm suing!:bandit:

Oh my god, I"m so sorry *BIG TIGHT HUG* :crying:

I have to Persians, but they're quite young (only a year and a half) and I can't imagine life without them!

I don't know, I think I can see Shepard and Kaidan staying together. If they can get back together in ME3, they can last. I'm sure they won't retire into boring careers - and someone said it a while back, but they understand each other and can handle giving each other shape. If the loss of the excitement of being Commander Shepard is the problem, then she wouldn't settle with anyone.

I feel like a bad Kaidan fan because sometimes I think I prefer Thane. :x
