As for the writing showing it...welcome to my nightmare. This is my biggest concern for ME3. Don't get me wrong, I will buy the game day one and play it, but the writing in ME2 was terrible when it came to major plot points. I just beat the game again last night...alas, poor Jacob, Thane and Garrus, I knew you well. Jack, WTF happened? You were loyal and Tali wasn't how did you die and not her????...and it's become a bit painful in areas to even listen to.
Why, yes, I'm still bitter about the 'good kid' thing.

Well, Mac Walters -I think- said that they'd revert back to ME1 style of writing where everything is plot oriented, let's hope he delivers, because ME2's writing was a nightmare to me too.

Ok, I've given a bit of thinkin' to the VS becoming a Specter. My guess is that it happened a bit after Horizon, and that you'll find out about this during your trial. Something along of the lines of 'Specter VS now has the stand'. (I don't pay attenting to court dramas, shoot me)
Of course, upon revelation, Shepard will probably look like this:

It's very very hard for me to think of Kaidan and Fem!Shep. Though him and Man!Shep sounds oddly intriguing. Think that will be put in ME3?

I hope Kaidan will get to do some badass biotic scenes in ME3, like something Samara or Jack had in ME2. I will die a happy woman after seeing Kaidan do some awesome biotic throw or do some serious furniture rearranging. At least something intense and dramatic.

As for Kaidan being a Spectre, I really seen this coming. This is a point I argued with a friend of mine. (If true) Storytelling wise: Kaidan needed some why to be able to independent from the Alliance. It is a much easier why to explain on how he would be able to work with Shepard again. If romantic, it leaves a way for Shepard and him to continue a relationship without regs. Plot wise: Kaidan already had a flawless record before serving on the Normandy. Add that he was part of the team who saved Eden Prime and the Citadel. Shepard might have been leading them team. But I'm sure when the Alliance began looking for new candidates after Shepard, he had to be next on their list. It makes total sense and doesn't seem weak to me.

I also have really been hoping to meet a Spectre who isn't either trying to kill Shepard or dies in the first 5 minutes of the game. It doesn't hurt that Shepard totally tapped that...

why is it very very hard for you to think of Kaidan with femshep?


as for Kaidan or Ash becoming spectres - I think it makes a lot of sence.  they are loyal to alliance, they have seen everything Shepard has seen, they have dealt with the council before, they are both exceptional soldiers and could have potentialy been selecte instead of Shepard and it would also explain why they were all over Terminus systems, despite the fact that alliance and council tend to stay away officialy

I just don't feel that my Fem!Shep character would be attracted to someone like Kaidan. He's passive, quiet and a bit awkward when it comes to romance while she's headstrong and could be considered by some to be slightly insane. Ashley however...

But my Male!Shep, he's the paragon of Paragon. If only Bioware had spent a little more time with the god damn gay options...

but your femshep character doesn't equal every femshep character ever created, Kaidan is not passive, he's is reserved - there's a difference. more over saying that passive = gay is a disservice to gay people. sexual preference has NOTHING to do with personality traits. imagine your paragon of maleshep except that the personality belongs to a femshep. now imagine your femshep and except that personality belongs to a maleshep. considering that majority of the dialogue is identical for both gender shepards, its not even a stretch.

Well yeah, when I said Fem!Shep I assumed people who read would understand it meant *my* character. It's the kind of thing that's not said but understood, ya know? I mean, the game even lets you decide a bit of your character's background and their face. Not to mention their base personality. And passive = gay? When did I say that? I said passive would be unnattractive to *my* Fem!Shep. Not every Fem!Shep on this whole forum.

Definitely not. They've shown an aversion to adding male/male romance options right from the very start and they aren't likely to change that now. It's not particularly fair that female Shepards can be bisexual or gay and male Shepards cannot, but that's an issue you need to take up with the game designers.

I agree with Jewel I don't find Kaidan to be completely passive, I think he just respects, authority, rules and regulations that he is bound by. If he is a Spectre it will be interesting to see him speak/act more freely, as there will no longer be strict Alliance rules in place.

I don't think Kaidan's really a good choice to make an M/M option in ME3.
For one thing, he could be dead - either him or Ashley has to. Mass Effect hasn't had a gay male option yet - if they're going to have one in ME3, it should probably be someone that every player is going to have.

Also, Kaidan's romance in ME1 (along with most of the other romances, really) is rather female specific anyway.

sorry, but that's what I heard in your words, Antivenger. you didn't specify your femshep. whether they will add m/m option or not, I don't know. its not impossible but it would be difficult to write well. unlike ME2 romances or DA romances, ME1 romances start out in very specific and very polarizing ways, so addressing that would require a lot of extra writing and like Collider mentioned, it will also exclude people who chose to save the other virmire survivor.
