I've seen speculations about Alliance making some problems because of their affair, has no sense IMO, maybe only to break someone's morale. But law doesn't operate that way, she can't be judged for something from the past, something that cannot be proved (I assume nobody knew), plus she's not really Alliance anymore.

I think with Kaidan being a Spectre and Shepard no longer being with the Alliance (and a Spectre as well if you had her re-instated) that all the regulation stuff is behind them...now the media is a different story...and the way the news is done...I'm surprised that we haven't already heard reports of Shep having kids with Wrex, Anderson and Udina. The story about Ash being posthumously honored as a pro-alien made me chuckle...I never knew what was true, partially true or an all out lie. Was always suspicious of the story about the Alliance enlistments being down as well. Anyway if their relationship did become public knowledge I bet they could put some hilarious news tidbits in there...and they did promise more humor.

Yep...he's confirmed.

I don't think there's been an official announcement on the matter, but it's either that, or he's running around with the Spectre logo on his armor for No Apparent Reason.

I really think that some of how they go about doing it will be whether or not they allow those who have single Sheps to start a late romance with a ME or ME2 LI. Just for time and money's sake I don't see them doing a completely different dialogue tree for a late romance as opposed to one that started earlier. And since a late romance would require getting to know the LI it would probably go slower for all of us. If you can't start a late romance they could probably just jump in there where they left off (if any of that makes sense).

Since bioware has made it tradition to have romances in their games and since ME3 wont have any new LIs we can assume the old ones will be available for the new players. I cant think of how they gonna do it tho. I definitely dont want to have to re-romance Kaidan again if i stayed faithful, or have the same dialogue with a romanced and a non romanced Kaidan. There must be some different lines for ppl who will romance him first time and ppl who have already been in a relationship with him.

Well I hope they make a big difference in that dialogue...if it's different enough it might warrant a single playthrough for one of my
Sheps so she can start the romance in ME3...will be hard to resist the temptation in ME but if the ME3 dialogue is really good I'll force
myself to go through with it.

I don't see how this scenario makes Kaidan less of a good-guy. He wants to help stop the Reapers, it makes sense he would accept the spectre status given how much power such a title holds. He does not control the Alliance PR department and the Alliance have already smeared Shepard's name by the start of ME2.

It's not exactly my opinion, but almost everywhere I turn people seem to believe that he's sent after Shepard, or similar other speculations that would imply he's somehow hostile to the commander.

I think he may be more annoyed and rash by now, but I can't believe how could he suddenly change his mind about Shepard's commitment (or change his commitment to Shepard), considering what happened during ME1. Some seem to think that Horizon is a total "break of any bonds", while I think his head will cool by the events of ME3.

That's all probably covered on whatever tabloid news channel's out there with al-Jilani as their star reporter.

If this was put in game, I'd probably spend hours just clicking for the articles.

I think someone else put a link in here to the info for both him and Ash being made Spectres...but if it were to turn out to not be true the Spectre logo on his uniform would need a lot a explaining.

Thanks for the quote thing on the pic...I was having so much trouble that I didn't even notice I'd put the / in the wrong place. I'm a little batty anyway right now...just finished my first playthrough of Liara's dlc...loved it but was ticked that I'm seeing the picture frame of Kaidan with no Kaidan and Liara doesn't even mention him. 2012 can't come too soon.

I would not put past the council if they made him a spectre to have him assist the alliance in arresting Shepard (Having Shepard's former friends be the ones to capture Shepard would also futher reduce her credibility). He would follow through with this because I have a feeling that Kaidan could easily be mistrustful of Shepard after Arrival (mistrust would range depending what else Shepard has done and said).

Even if he still cares about Shepard. I doubt Kaidan will put his own feelings in front of the galaxy. He seems to have buried his emotions for the last two years.

I think them being Spectre's has more to do with them being the VS than the LI...and more to do with the overall story than the romance. I don't know why anyone should complain...we didn't get hardly any Kaidan/Ash in ME2...they are due.

Really? That's interesting. They're perfect candidates because they've worked with a Spectre before on a top-secret mission.

I also thought they'd be Spectres because it's an absolutely predictable direction. It's also been hinted at in parts of the game:

- News report on many humans becoming spectres
- "I have to report to the Council... they'll decide" paraphrase from Horizon

I saw this coming miles away. But I don't think it detracts from them but adds some weight to what happened on Horizon.

Like I've said before, their whole job has been trying to find evidence of the reapers and convince the alien members of the council that they exist.

I also doubt he would do that, I forgot to mention that by bonds I meant what they were fighting for. My last few posts aren't about the LI, but about Shepard's former squadmate, just to be clear. I usually mention the LI status when I need to do that. Sorry for confusion, if there was any.

...makes me sure they somehow want to rejoin Shepard. For a while I even thought they will be there to take commander away from the trial (or maybe get Shepard's sorry **** out of attacked Earth). But that's just my wild imagination.

Agreed. I think that the VS being a Spectre was something that was planned out from ME1, the romance having nothing to do with it.
As for why people complain...probably best I don't give my true thoughts on that one.

I think it was my first playthrough of ME2, maybe my second when I was certain the VS was a Spectre and it was for those exact reasons, the news report and reporting back.  Plus, why would they send someone of Kaidan's or Ashley's rank alone on a covert mission to the Terminous System?

About Kaidan being hostile - I don't see Kaidan being angry with Shepard by the time ME3 starts. I think he would've, at least partially come to terms with Shepard working with Cerberus before sending the email, if he hadn't I don't think she would've even gotten the "maybe...I don't know". I think him saying "if you're still the woman I remember..." shows that he still believes in Shepard or at least wants to.

I think I have a good idea as to which fandom that might be...it seems that Kaidan fans clash with them a lot. Seriously though I don't think there should be any complaints as to Kaidan/Ash's rank because no one knows exactly what rank any of the others might be. I mean Liara is the Shadow Broker now...that's a pretty big deal. Who knows what positions any of the others might be in after Arrival( which I should be playing through for my first time tonight or tomorrow...yay!)...Garrus? head of C-sec or maybe a Spectre himself...Tali...an Admiral if you kept her from getting exiled...I mean look at Wrex...he's the head of his people. Not saying they would do any of those things...just saying since we don't really know where they are and exactly what position they hold right now why complain about Kaidan and Ash.

As for how hot Kaidan looks...maybe they just needed a little pic to remind them

Have to agree with you Fort...all the signs were there. I think Anderson also mentions that Kaidan is trying to convince the council of the Reapers. Not even Shepard had free private access to the council until she became a Spectre...the only time before was when she was with Udina and Anderson.

I have a ME fic, Jennifer's story mostly and A DA:O fic that I took down cause it needs a lot of worked...I hate Mary sues, and my Cousland was on her way there *face-palm* 6 more weeks and school will be over for good! AHH! and I can write/read/draw then till my hands fall off
