I'm not looking forward to a Kaidan who is angry about Shepard moving on, to be honest.

Even if, I don't see him as someone who would constantly remind Shepard of that. More like a "let's move beyond that, we've got a Galaxy to save" :/ The whole "cheating, "breaking up" and other Horizon concepts are starting to be blurry and I have a feeling that in the end it won't really matter, like the choice between killing the council and concentrating on the Reaper who's sitting on the Citadel. If LI, everything about this relationship is only in Shepard's head, and we may start from the clean card >_>
And, what TZ said.

But this is something we won't know until we play the game.

What the hell does "beefing-up" mean? Textures needed some overhaul, armor needed update as there are no "light" or "heavy" amors anymore, also he can't run in Alliance BDUs all the time, right?

That Xbox mag thread made me even more excited for ME3, seems like the original 3 LI's are going to get a lot of love. Can't wait!
Although I'm sure more information about the ME2 LIs will be given soon, I'm just really glad they are feauturing the VS so much in the interviews we're getting. I guess the mention of their 'big role' is actually just what it is, wow.

So they are beefing up Kaidan? There was nothing wrong with him imo but I did see it mentioned back in the day. The nude models weren't that polished though and he looked great in armor/casuals. Just no Jacob body, please...just no.

Kaidan MUST have hips. Jacob's body was ever so creepy, it didnt make sense!

With another location mentioned that might be personal to a certain buffman, could be interesting:o

The game is sounding better by the day and we have to wait till 2012 :crying::crying::crying::crying:

Oh crap... I was kind of dreading this. With all the death happening on Earth, I was wondering if we would see the tragedy of the VS losing family. Kaidan's parents or Ash's sisters. I don't want to be right... :( I'm sure it will be insane emotional and great for the storyline, but seeing Kaidan grieving might end me.

I am excited about going to Palaven and Tuchanka. Tuchanka was my favorite planet off ME2. Maybe 'cause I've been playing way to much Fallout lately.

I just had a scenario come in my head due to this information.

Say that if you stayed "faithful" you could save them (the family)  and if you were not then they die.

*dun dun dun*

Luckily I am always wrong so I doubt that would ever happen.

So not the right situation to meet your boyfriends parents though right?

*Hiding behind cover while getting shot at*
Kaidan: "Mom, Dad, this is Shepard, we're kind of dating."
*Explosion*
Mrs. Alenko: "Hello dear, Kaidan says such great things about you."
Shepard:  "I....er....Do you guys really think this is the time?!"

To my mind, this would be an ideal outcome.  Not earth-shattering in its central-plot-importance but extremely personal, it counts as a dire consequence for anyone who cares about Kaidan.  (Though a certain part of me already foresees this reaction from the haters: "It's your fault they died - they'd be alive if you'd joined me in ME2!"  Considering how much ink is spilled over which events are whose fault in, say, A Song of Ice and Fire, when many of those who are blamed are innocent children who had no ultimate say or power...  People like to play the blame game, sometimes to an outrageous extent.)

IMO that would be AWESOME! In a heartbreaking, 'emotional engaging', dramatic, Jho crying at her screen, type of way. For Shepard to be able to try and comfort Kaidan and the scene and dialogue of that...wow, such possibilities. For me it would bring the relationship to a whole new level if they add something so dramatic. But, even being able to 'meet the parents' would do that too, it makes it all so much more personal and draws more people into the relationship and thus makes it feel more 'real' in a way.
We don't know what will happen, or even if we get to see/meet family though...but wow.

Experiencing something that emotional, it would be awful and horrid and I wouldn't wish it on Kaidan who has already been through so much....but it sure would have some awesome dramatic impact, making the invasion even more personal for both Kaidan and Shepard. Can you imagine an emotional, raging Kaidan on the battlefield? Again WOW. And another reason for Kaidan to make sure no harm comes to Shepard...oh the drama lol

Just saw the visit to Vancouver before and after.

"The Seatle/Vancouver megacity on the west coast of North America is a truly gigantic space which Shepard will visit before and after the Reapers take it apart."

Could meet his parents first, then the attack, then save them?

Please let this be, it would be EPIC.

I think, even though I might want it, we just get a reference to Kaidan's family there. Should he be at your side when all hell breaks loose there, I'm sure he'll display some angst concerning his family.
An actual scene with said family is probably too much detail for one of the LI's, not to mention actually creating the family and doing VO work for them. Specially for a character that's most likely dead in a lot of playthroughs :/ Unless, however, they handle it like they did with Miranda and pan the camera to Kaidan talking to his family in the distance or something.

Still, Kaidan angst....very dramatic :)

I'm waiting to see how Kaidan reacts to both faithful and unfaithful Shepard in ME3, whether he's still angry or regretful, or what. There are still some things we don't know about the "new" Kaidan, so I'm waiting with baited breath.

How Kaidan and the other LIs react to rejection will have a lot of influence over how I feel about them. Rejection scenes in ME2 offered a lot of great insight into the relationship, often more than the actual relationship dialogue did.

Faithful or unfaithful...I'm  still thinking he'll be in character...they even seemed to bring some of Liara's old character back in the dlc...sure she was more mature but the old Liara was there. I don't think they will mess with a good thing. As for what will happen if you cheated...I still wonder if it simply opens up a choice as to which one you want to finish the game with...the old LI or the new...the one you don't choose won't be a squadmate and the "bad" thing that happens will happen to them because they are not with you and are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just thinking out loud...won't really matter to those of us that didn't choose a new LI.

My heart is going pitter patter...never expected this...they could really push the relationship angle with this...2012 can not come soon enough.

I wouldn't mind if they beefed him up a little bit, but not to Jacob proportions.

Jacob's proportions were awful...worst mesh I've ever seen. As for Kaidan...I didn't think his mesh was that bad...especially at his terminal...but I do love the new look.

I don't think there's much to read into the "beefy" comments. As was said, every human male had the same body in ME1, so that only leaves armor.

They could wind up saving their families...it doesn't have to be bad. I was kinda hoping for some interaction between Shep and Kaidan's parents...just wonder how much they know and how they would react to finding out that their son was/is  involved with Shepard. Maybe this means for those that chose the Spacer option that they'll get to see Shep's Mom too.

Really...I find that an odd choice...wonder why. I mean they never really made any big deal about Vancouver in the games...I think Kaidan may be the only one that mentions it.

Jacob did get to talk to his father though and it was more than what Miranda got...so don't count it out yet. Thane also got some time with his son. I mean it is possible.

Not sure if it's legit, just saw someone else say it and cant find the original source. But it does look as if that we go there before and after...for whatever reason that may be. :o

I'm all for it...maybe they are able to hold the Reapers off in that area for some reason...I was just wondering if we might be able to visit there afterwards and interact with the parents or something...May simply be that Kaidan goes looking for his parents afterwards and we don't get to meet them until the Reaper threat is taken care of...anyway I am looking forward to Vancouver. Who knows if they are bringing his hometown into play maybe they are bringing other parts of his past into play...Maybe the thing with Vrynnus will be made public knowledge or Rhana will show up. I've got fanfic ideas flying through my head right now but with the new game coming out next week they will have to be put on hold for now. ME3 is sounding better and better all the time.

The mission thing sounds good...be horrible for those that chose a ME2 LI if it was in front of his parents the cheating was revealed...eek what a punch in the gut for Kaidan.

Dunno if they'll bring back personal squad mission thingies though, I mean they were such a big part of ME2 where the focus was just on the whole suicide mission team.

I'm just thrilled Casey said they're focusing on a smaller squad with deeper relationships...so maybe family does come into play.

I agree, I'm thrilled that they're finally pulling back to ME1 style, less characters more in-depth conversations...so maybe family does come into play. I mean it wouldn't make sense for Kaidan to be home and he doesnt even mention his family!

But yeah, should something happen to them, I think my Shepard will burst into tears, then take it out on the reapers...Kaidan angst, as good as it would be, is still heart-wrenching. :crying:

I cant wait for this game, hoping nothing too bad happens with Kaidan. I'd cry too, perhaps too much. I always do with the Kasumi DLC.
