But I just don't understand Shepard here. She just raced to his rescue, looked EVERYWHERE on the settlement for him. Then thought that the Collectors had him and had escaped the planet. Then he appears out of the blue like out of a dream. And all she can say is "How you doin?'!! I would have held him tightly, tears in my eyes and been mumbling over and over thanks to God that he was still alive and well and not taken by the Collectors.

Jacob is ok but his waist is kind of...not there....Jade5233 wrote...
I know. And I worry because no matter how good it is, I am worried that ME3's handling of Kaidan and Shepard's story could never hold up to our expectations of what it "should" be.

I know, I know. I just want to see what happens in ME3 with an unfaithful Shep. My 2nd paragon, Kara is interested in Thane but I think is going to turn him down in the end, unable to be unfaithful to Kaidan.Selenora wrote...

We've done this who's right and wrong on Horizon debate several times here. They were both reacting badly--but that happens at times with strong emotions.

Besides, Kaidan announces "I loved you" to Shepard in front of everybody. So that pretense is out the window. And TIM seems to know anyways.Joisan wrote...

Yes, that would have been my preferred reaction too. I know people have tried to justify it with, "She didn't want to make their relationship evident with Cerberus watching and/or listening" but honestly, in that situation I would be way beyond thinking that logically. Screw Cerberus, my Shepard would have tackle-hugged him with tears of joy in her eyes and the very first words out of her mouth would have been, "Kaidan! Thank God you're okay."

I agree. I prefer mature men. I like that both Shepard and Kaidan are a bit older and not in their early twenties.
About Carth though...I loved the KOTOR romance, both Carth as a character and the dialogues with him, but to be honest, the whole "I have a dead wife" plot background is not one of my favourites. I'm glad they haven't used that for Kaidan.

{The "How are you?" line made me rage so much! All the emotions that I'd gone through that entire mission, knowing he was there, searching for him, staring down each colonist, and then absolutely 100% convinced that he was dead before he just waltzes magicall around the corner, sexy Sbarge voice reciting how Shepard was a legend and a ghost... and all Shepard has to say is, "Kaidan, how are you?" Are you kidding me?! I would have rocketed into his arms after standing there in shock and been a sobbing wreck! Hardcore marine be damned, when someone you love has returned after you believe they've been taken or worse, tears are a given. I would not have been able to stop touching him, making sure he was real.}
I fixed my internal reaction to Shepard's first line to Kaidan by assuming that she thinks he's moved on after two years. That kind of awkward moment with an ex that you're still in love with when you run into them unexpectedly. Where you say something oh-so-stupid and overly polite because you don't want to embarass yourself expressing emotions that (you assume) they don't reciprocate.
(Edited for buggering up the quote in my attempt to only use the part I was responding to. grrrr....)

Welcome bluedolphin! It's always good to see another fan of Kaidan. This place is so peaceful, hm?bluedolphin wrote...
Hello everyone. I have decided to finally stop skulking around and say hello. It's funny, I have only recently discovered these forums and I've been stalking this one ever since. It's so nice to find someplace where Kaidan is loved. All my previous experience has been on forums with people saying things like "...Kaiden (they don't even have the decency to spell his name right) you mean there are actually people who let him live?" Those comments make me so sad.
