Wow.  I don't know.  Which to tell you.
I have a faithful Shepard (Kimbri), one that is romancing Thane but is going to drop him at the last minute because she really loves Kaidan (Kara) and I will have one that actually romances Jacob (only human male LI) and will go through it (Kitty).  I want to see all the versions.

ME3 will have the backstory comic though, so you can start a fresh Shepard with no LI at that point if you want.

And welcome to BlueDolphin as well!  We all know how you feel--that's how we ended up here.  We were tired of hearing how Kaidan was "whiny" and a "Carth clone" when in all reality he's the best LI in the series--at least for mature women (and men, and regardless of age).
The man has so many layers, so much depth.  Not to mention a body that doesn't quit.

I had never really played any RPG's before ME so when I started up my first play through, I listened to my boyfriend who said Kaidan was whiny and useless. So I ended up romancing Liara and leaving Kaidan behind to get nuked . Well on my second run, I actually decided to talk to the man and I haven't looked back since. It is now impossible to play that game and not romance him. But what is funny is that I talked him up so much to my boyfriend that he actually started a game with a FemShep and romanced him. I converted him!

It's completely possible to clear up a case of 'Carthitis', the one with my fiance ended up being a deal made for me to play a non-biotic class while he tried the Kaidan romance.  I ended up really liking Infiltrators and he ended up finding the romance rather well done.

When I first started ME1 I knew he was a romance option and never looked back.

My sister is being a douche. Talking about Garrus vs Kaidan and she compared them to Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, do I have permission to kill her? Please note she is my twin, but I am willing to commit such an act due to her ignorance of the greatness that is Kaiden Alenko.

How dare she compare Kaidan to Luke Skywalker.

She is on BSN, do I out her for our wrath?




PS she claims it was not a insult but comparing how cooler Garrus is, which I agree to some extent but the fact that she decided that Luke was somehow a good comparison for Kaidan. Who I think is more like Han Solo in a more discreet manner.

I really like Kaidan and Garrus in equal measure. my hardest choice for ME3 is what Shepard I play as first. Kaiden is my canon (never "cheated" on him) but Garrus made it hard for me to romance anyone else in ME2.

I seem to be breaking the plot a bit in the progress too, so stop me before something explodes! XD

you need to go where you first meet the reporter Emily Wong ( the area thats near the Stairs to C-sec) and go along the long windows  and there should be a clickable option where it says something like "view on the citadel" and that should be near to the doors to the strip club area i think.
 

someone will have better directions than me but thats the rough answer hopefully that helps

@Up. Just when you get access to The Wards on the beginning of the game, go to the spacious place with a balcony (just opposite to the Flux/elevator corridor entrance). The marker should be over the railing.

I've managed to collect Garrus, Wrex, and Tali on the way though. Garrus I think I was supposed to get by going through Chora's Den, but because I got Wrex first my first visit to Chora's was just shooting people. Made Kaidan's "where'd all the dancers go? " that much funnier because as far as Shep was concerned there were never any dancers XD

Is there any conditions to meet to get Kaidan announcing that he finds Shep attractive, or does he always do that for fem!shep regardless?

He always does it like Ashely will always do it for manshep. my sister got a glitch once when the option wasn't available. she was VERY upset lol

EDIT: i'm not sure if Ashely has to be in the party as well but i assume so for it to trigger because i always had ashely with me when i triggered that scene

I think I played ME1 a dozen times and only recently found that scene. It drove me crazy because I seen it on youtube but could never find it. It's really easy to miss.

Another fun extra bit of dialogue, if you begin a romance with any of the LIs before going and meeting Sha'ira, when she says, "still some for pleasure" they will get jealous and snap a little at her. I love making Kaidan just a little bit jealous with both her and Liara before letting Shepard fully give in. I never complete the love trangle with Liara but I go until the point I get Shepard to ask Kaidan 'if there is a problem' so he answers 'not when you're around.'

On a side note I wish Kaidan mentioned Shepard's biotic ability if you romance him. He is the only npc that makes note of Shepard being a biotic but only if he is not romanced. Then again he says that even if Shepard isn't a biotic...
