It was the best example I could think of to get my point across. Mine is the same way, she is a renegade, well as close to renegade as I get, more like paragade. She makes all the paragon choices but is a smarmy ass about it. I'd figured I had a couple choices with her not romancing anyone in ME1 & 2: either with Kaidan or maybe a new romance. She is my play-around character anyways. Things I haven't done with any of my other Shepards I've done with her, at least to see what happens. Let's just say there has been a lot of reloads with her.

One of the best things with being able to start the romance in ME3 is that it would give another Kaidan-path

No.
It's nice to see him being advertised because he's always been overshadowed by Ashley.
I'd also like to what his powers are in combat. Who knows how much they changed.

100% agreed. First game advertised Ashley and Garrus. Second game advertised Miranda and Thane. So far for the third (granted it is only one picture) is Kaidan and Liara. I really hope they stick with that, because it's nice to see him in place of Ashley. Most articles I read on the internet talk about Ashley as if she's the only choice for Virmire, and I find that frustrating because she isn't. I like seeing him in the spotlight for once.

I really won't believe BioWare can stop putting Liara (what have I just said? Blasphemy! Our "as intelligent as beautiful" Liara) everywhere until I'll see ME3 cover.
Good thing is when other squaddies tend to run around in casual clothes, Kaidan's armour going heavier game by game. What can be better than our reliable sentinel in so reliable looking armour?
Ehm, BTW, I hope Kaidan will have casual outfit? Constantly fully armoured LI will look... embarassing in several scenes. Can't wait to see that alliance uniform again!

His face did confuse me a little at first but I could tell it was obviously him.
I'm not sure how people can assume it's James Vega though, especially as most of the articles say they haven't seen him yet...

Maybe Kaidan is just trying to hide from the hordes of fangirls?
Wait, that can't be right. We were the first ones to recognise him!  (poor man, can't go anywhere or do anything without being stalked....Shepard chaining him to her bed makes more and more sense each day! )

Seriously though, it couldn't be anyone else, since I doubt Bioware would create two male characters on Shepard's team that look so similar - the only people that have looked similar so far are simply because they are the same species, like the asari. Maybe two people might have similar-ish faces, but they're not going to give them the same hair too! (come on, I barely know the guy due to just starting the citadel in ME1 and even I recognise that hair, slightly different texture or not )

Plus you think they would release two new characters if they were going to include any on the first official art - more speculating than just "oh, is that kaidan? Probably? Whatever, where's my next arts! >/" Seems silly they would introduce "James" and have him with Liara, who we all clearly know! (or maybe its not Liara. Maybe its another asari who just looks like Liara! Its the only possible explanation people!). Everyone's just jealous of Kaidan

They've obviously revamped the characters for the new game, and I'm sure we'll love the redesign just as much. Hell, I stalk Anders from DA2 even more after his design was updated and became an LI (be still my heart! ) - while ignoring everything that tried to derail me from this stalking path

I think there was an image somewhere in this thread, of Kaidan in ME1 that looked very much like the magazine version down to the littlest detail. its just angles really, but the face is unmistakeable, and people just like to stay in denial.

A few weeks ago, my buddy was all excited, because he thought he'd found a picture of James Vega and sent it to me.  I quickly squealed with delight and set him straight.
