Then I am really wondering how they get these statistics. Does it count how many players stayed loyal with their Shepards in ME2? This can't be taken serious, because players like to test different options and with the short Horizon cameo it is understandable if players tend to try the other LIs. But that doesn't mean that with ME3 or a Kaidan/Ashley DLC people will play ME1 or ME2 again to revive the romance with Kaidan or Ashley. And with the interpretation of statistics one has to be quite careful (I hope Bioware knows this too).

But we know that Bioware watch the fanbase - so they can easily see that their statistics cannot be really taken serious and that the players want to see more of Kaidan and Ashley.

From what I can tell from comments, the play statistics are ME2 only, so there is no, "People kept Kaidan and/or Ashley in their squad for [X] amount of [time/missions]" like there is with the ME2 squadmates, and they are pretty much measured by whether ME1 romance imports "cheated" or not.  And since, allegedly, only 50% of the plays were imported, obviously there's gonna be a skewed number there.

Never mind that some of us don't have access to XBox live (or intentionally cut ME2's online connection).

There might have been some reflection on the vitriol of the old forums, but I wasn't there, so I couldn't say, except that couldn't have been hard numbers like the statistics seem to indicate, though.

And really, statistics means nothing if BioWare really wanted to be fair to all the LI's, like BW employees have been quoted as saying (even if it were just an "off the record" comment...).

Edit: For the top of the page, a touching moment.

Trying to guess what we think BW will do based on statistics none of us has seen or even know what the overall trend is (all we have is assumptions based on forums etc) just serves to cause anxiety. BW have a plan, we'll either love it or hate it but until they tell us what it is we can't know. Liara fans were up in arms after the comic until the LoTSB came out and they needn't have worried, maybe, just maybe Kaidan and Ash are being left 'til last because of how important they are? Maybe Liara was emphasised because she's the focus of the comics and Dark Horse want to sell as many comics to the PS3 players as possible?

The crux is we won't know until they release more info about ME3 or DLC. There are ME writers who are very into Kaidan and they acknowledge that good characters have lovers and haters, can't remember if it was Hudson or someone else said that. So hang off sharpening the pitchforks just yet.

I allowed myself to tweet to Christina (maybe a wrong staff member, but she always seemed a reasonable person) about the name, I will understand if she won't reply anyway.

Please let us know if you'll get an answer from her, Akodo. Image IPB

As I wrote before, now even BioWare can't be bothered to write his name correctly anymore. But we shouldn't worry because what was it that Jesse Houston wrote? "All LIs are equal!"
Indeed. Image IPB

I just saw the comic and... gods, that just depressed me. In addition to calling "Kaiden" a 'good kid', he's barely recognisable if it weren't for the armour, and a whole load of the story just disappears. Suffice to say, I shall be denying all existence of this comic, and going back to praying we get some kind of DLC, or at least an awesome role in ME3.

I forced myself to watch the whole thing. As a summary, it wasn't bad. I wish they didn't ignore the geth, though.

However, I may have missed it, but is there no where to tell Liara "No" I like the good "kid" in the black armor (or the tough Chief in the pink armor)?

It reads as though Shepard is enamoured with Liara no matter what and [Human LI] steps up with some concern over the "very pleasant" mind melding thing, and Shepard can choose either one or remain single ("The mission is too important right now").

... so... not as such, but after a fashion?  Maybe it'd be different with the FemShep version?

Kaidan could of always asked Kaiden to take over for this role because he was... preoccupied at the moment.

We should have a sig banner that says "All LIs are equal; some are more equal than others."

OK, the choice is actually made at 5:40 in the first video. The choices are "Ash" "Liara" "The mission comes first."

I now really want to see the Kaidan version.

It'll have the exact same lines as the mShep version, down to making Liara the canon romance and making Kaidan out to be some young n00b.

I would like an official BW statement about Kaidan's name. I will adapt to anything they say, but please, BW, stop laughing at us constantly. >_>

This. From what I've seen  the comic is worse than I thought.

EDIT

And how could they turn this:

Into this:

....And he's the only one who doesn't have a tight looking outfit/armor. :P

Ash's boob cup holders look much more pointy then I remember.

I'm still trying to figure out why Shepard is referring to Kaidan as a 'kid' in the first place when he's a few years younger than Kaidan.

You know, just now, before I read forward, I had a HOLY CRAP, ASH'S BOOBS! moment.

Anyway.  When the hell did Ash, Liara, and Kaidan ever line up working Navigation like that?  Or... are they social networking or... what?  You know, that doesn't even look like the Normandy.

No, it looks like the SR-2.  As does the briefing room.  I highly doubt whoever wrote or drew for this comic ever played the original game.

I suppose twitter could still exist in mass effect.
The design looks more like SR2, coloring looks like SR1.

It's just artist's interpretation, not like someone told them to draw this way. It's not 80-90's where comic was made with double caution and double details, hand colored and such. And as far as I know comic artists, they tend to sexualize everything that has boobs (no offence to anyone. I tend to do that myself and "people like it").

What bothers me the most about the comic, even more than the obvious SHOVE towards Liara as an LI, and even more than not even *mentioning* the geth, is that there is nothing about Cerberus...which will cause even more hate towards the Virmire Survivor when they meet them on Horizon and have no idea why they're yelling at them for working with that awesome group.

I hope everyone is prepared for the influx of trolls to this thread, because I can't imagine any PS3 players actually liking Kaidan or Ashley after playing that comic and ME2.
