I got really lucky with that one.  I could have very easily missed it.  I was trying to take a picture of something else and when I swung the camera around, they were off in a corner together.  I swear Ash was making a grab for Kaidan's hand. 

... or at least, I think it was his hand. 

Heh. It does indeed look like she's holding Kaidan's hand.

I think the fact that the Shepard team shot for ME3, having Kaidan in it proves beyond shadow of a doubt that a lot more people saved Kaidan then bioware might have originally anticipated. (they do have the numbers and percentages of virmire survivors) otherwise, he wouldn't be getting as much of a front and center attention and instead might possibly get a smaller screen shot ala first pic of remodeled Ashley.

edit - oh my, I didn't even realize that they look like they are holding hands!  I was just admiring how they were both in perfect profile

I still haven't actually saved Ashley yet. I've stuck with the choice I took the first time I played the game.

Kaidan.  No.  He would withdraw and focus energy on the current mission. 

But  Ash vs Miranda or even better Ash vs Jack ( It seems they both have been Miranda -ized for a reason in ME3).

While I can't see Kaidan getting into an argument over Shepard's affections either, I can see him getting into a hostile-feeling verbal debate with another character for letting/helping Shepard get into some of the situations that happened in ME2.  Then the other character pointing out that at least they were there at her side and keeping her safe while he turned his back on her completely.  This would be especially true of Garus, I think.

I hope that they keep the interactions in character and not cookie-cutter *insert character here* type of scenes.

Now, spunky Ashley--yes!  I could see her taking down Miranda or Jack.  Actually, I'd make a playthrough like that just to see that outcome.

By 'reward' I mean more dialogue, content, more drama, just 'more' if you have a love triangle. It's a good excuse to extend romance plots. It's used in TV shows all the time. (Bones for example)

Hopefully it's just a difference in flavor, though now I am expecting Kaidan to still not be easy to woo regardless. If I had my way Kaidan/Ash/Liara would take you back earlier on in the game if you were loyal and we'd get unique 'let's get to know each other better' dialogue trees.

About Kaidan being angry at Shepard or possible the new LI. Time to play Devil's Advocate!

We need to remember that Shepard's death might have changed him a bit. "Hardened" him, probably not give him a completely knew personality but made him less likely to let things slide.

However that being said I wonder how much stock Kaidan gave their original romance. *okay hear me out* They were only together a matter of months, Shepard has already been separated from him longer then they were together. They had sex once. Kaidan does say on Horizon that he loved Shepard. But that was 2 years ago. I'm sure he still does but I can't see him getting overly pissed that she moved on. HOWEVER, I can see him making a semi angry comment about if she was really dead, like she claims it didn't take her anytime at all to get over him.

I can see this too, and I agree.

Kaidan is mature enough to act rationally about the whole thing.  I can see him being disappointed.  But perhaps more about Shepard's betrayal than anything.

Or maybe he felt Shepard was the closest he had felt to having a connection and making things work, and he's heartbroken that she doesn't feel the same.  Hard to tell at this point.

Either way, I hope BioWare sees no need to make him start freaking out, shooting things, having cat fights and screwing over his [former] girl/friend.

But I see one of Kaidan doing the line from Austin Powers the Spy Who Shaggled Me about sleeping with Garrus. "No, I mean, literally, HOW could you sleep with him? The mechanics of it is just mind-boggling!"

DA series is where you get all the good catfights.  ME people are too laid back for that.

I would like to see this as well--that you get together sooner and have different (more couple) dialogue through the game with Kaidan (or other LI) if faithful.
Those that weren't faithful would have more angst and vying-type dialogue in place of the happy couple dialogue.  Then they wouldn't get together with the LI of choice until the end.
