Speaking of Sheploo, he definitely looks a lot more... sympathetic to me this game. Like a more of a real person.

Yeah he looks a lot.... erm... better, if that makes any sense, less of a statue more of a person ;)

Meer's voice acting sounded a lot better too.

Blegh, watched another demo presentation...Casey talks about you seeing Ash or Kaidan at the pick-up (earth demo), the IGN guy basically goes "Most people will see Ashley though" and Casey goes "Yeah, there is some love out there for Kaidan but not a whole lot."

Oh well.

It's Casey. That says all, I think. Posted Image

I was also miffed by that. This thread surely shows evidence of the great love that many of us have for Kaidan. :-)

There's still a behind the scene sneak peak at a closed doors demo comming up @ BiowareTV in 2 hours or so today.
I hope its a new demo and not something we have seen before...

And yeah I guess I wasn't the only one miffed at his statement. I thought the interviewer was an idiot.

Casey Hudson makes me sad. :crying:

Seriously, would it have killed Hudson to show Kaidan some love instead of mocking him?

I'm almost entirely certain Casey Hudson's position on relative Virimire Survivor love comes directly from the metadata regarding that particular decision in Mass Effect 1.

He also isn't really obligated to love the same characters anyone else does.  Nor is anyone.

According to Collider, the interviewer was the same guy who made that quip about Kaidan in the IGN article.

The interviewer seems to have something against Kaidan. I can excuse Casey somewhat since the interviewer put him in a corner, but I still don't like his answer.

In this case, it was the IGN guy who annoyed me though...with his chuckling after Casey talked about you either get Ash or Kaidan based on your ME1 choice. Maybe he's right and Kaidan will be dead in most games, but still...it was annoying.
Oh well, it won't have any effect on his role in ME3 since he shares it with the, according to IGN and Casey, more popular Ashley...so it doesn't matter in the end I guess...still...<_<

Edit : Darn this thread moved fast. Agreed Collider.

Well, not only did we have to sit through the exact same demo again, but that IGN guy really pissed me off.  Like, really?  Really IGN guy?  Casey didn't exactly help...<_<

The guy interviewing Casey was Hilary Goldstein.

Maybe so, but you have to take a look at the gender divide in the player base.  Those that play FemShep are in a minority, but I imagine Kaidan is far more popular among them than he is among players of ManShep.  And, while the ManShep playerbase may be much bigger, FemShep is still an option than Bioware has given us and I see no reason to diss her romance options.  I mean, given that she gets less play, her LIs are always going to be less popular in terms of pure numbers, but that doesn't mean those characters are less loved by the (still large) group of people who play FemShep.

Why single out a subset of your fanbase for ridicule, though? You can bet if the host had said, "Well, most people are going to see MANSHEP" and Casey had replied, "Yeah, there's love for femShep, but not a lot" there would have been a real problem.

Seriously, that jibe at Kaidan was uncalled for. I'm not WILDLY OFFENDED or about to boycott the game or anything, just... disappointed in their lack of tact. I feel like I need to go romance Kaidan three more times just to balance it out.

I'm assuming video game journalists do not have to be professional.  At least pretend to respect Kaidan's fanbase.

I wouldn't get riled up or anything. I mean Kaidan is coming back as full time squadmate...

So, that shows us how to be a good interviewer right? :?

Why coudn't Steimer be asking those questions?

Thanks Milla.

I just hope this sort of attitude "Kaidan gets some love but not a lot" won't result in underdeveloped character arc :/

Yeah, the whole "Kaidan is not the most popular squadmate or LI" thing is not earth shattering news to anyone here.  As long as the writers treat him well in ME3, Casey can say whatever he wants.

And to be fair to Casey, he was just responding to Hilary Goldstein's leading question.

Have I mentioned lately how much I dislike video game journalists?  It's been at least a day.
