Random but interesting bit of info I picked up from an interview with one of the ME3 people (can't recall if it was Casey or some other guy; I've been watching way too much E3 footage lately lol): timeframe between ME2 and ME3 is 6-12 months, apparently.

So that means another year at most with no contact with each other after all that went down in ME2. Three years... must be agonizing.

Aaarrgh, what. D:

So agonizing, yes, but this just adds so much more to the fact that I have a ridiculous weakness for couples that are seperated for such a long time, but find a way to work things out...*coughCid and Edea in FF8cougcough*.  <3  What is my life?

Oh god, yes, Cid and Edea. ;_; (<3 FF8!)

...Yeah, it seems that angst works pretty well for Kaidan and Shepard. @_@

I bet it is going to be the first time Shepard is reunited with Kaidan, they are probably to busying with the 'omfg the Earth!' to really be all hearts and flowers. Besides from what I heard (not going to say because its kind of a spoiler) Shepard has more pressing things on her mind. But I'm sure the next scene after the rescue will be very interesting.

Can you tell us where you heard it from so I can go spoil myself? *justtoocurious*

It's one of the videos of the escape form Earth demos. It shows a little more of Shepard getting on the Normandy. Look at about the 16 minute mark.

I kind of like that Kaidan and Shepard have been separated for so long. I want them to earn their happily ever after. A little bit of bittersweet heartbreak makes for an epic romance.

I just hope we do get to continue our own experience in ME3, despite the time that has passed in the game. Meaning that I don't want the reunion to be brushed aside because they solved their issues in that period while we were waiting for Bioware to finish the game ;) A lot of time passed since Shepard's return from the relay and the trial that awaits her in ME3....seems a bit silly 2 Spectres don't have the resources to at least contact eachother again or meet up to talk. The mail from Kaidan in ME2 makes it logical for Shepard to at least reply to it on her return...not wait 6 to 12 months to see Kaidan again imo.

Judging from Sheploo's scruffy look in the demos, maybe Shepard spend the majority of that time locked up and they can work the story around that with Kaidan being denied seeing Shepard? And him taking her to the trial is the first time they see eachother again since Horizon.
I don't know, the hopeless romantic in me is already searching for valid storyline reasons to still have a fresh reunion when so much time has passed again ;)

Maybe they are afraid of hurting each other again?

Neither of them strike me as the type of person who would push everything aside for personal goals. Kaidan also said 'When things settle down a little...' They need a lot of personal time together to work through everything. Meeting for a short time between assignments probably doesn't give them the time they need. ME3 will force them to work together and hopefully talk.

A message is easily send though...well it should be anyway...we all know Shepard has issues with the mail system :P I don't know with Kaidan being a Spectre now things may have changed. I just want a nice reunion.

If anyone is interested, here is the IGN profile of Hilary Goldstein, the Editor-in-Chief at IGN.com and the one making the anti-Kaidan remarks in his articles/video. If you feel inclined, go ahead and leave him a review telling him what you think of his anti-Kaidan stance.

I just watched another IGN demo commentary on Earth, and the guy said something like 'So look forward to walking into the sunset with Liara, I mean seriously who'd wanna be with Kaidan?!'
And guess who it was...Hilary Goldstein. The way he said it, was like NO ONE would want to be with him. Really annoyed me...

It isn't just his Kaidan bashing, he is a bad journalist all around. Him and another ign journalist did a breakdown of the ME3 Escape from Earth trailer that was just stupid. Trying to collect my thoughts so I can write an intelligent review of him without using words like 'Jackass.'

I saw that breakdown, some of the things they said were ridiculous, it was like they'd never even played the game before.
I'm definitely going to try and write him a review, there is already one posted about his 'character bashing', but if we post some more, maybe...just maybe... he'll take the hint. We can only hope. :/

On another note, DSilverman confirmed in an interview that they haven't forgotten about femshep, and there will be a trailer on the way. So hopefully some Kaidan clips? Please? ;)

Judging by the earth demo clip i'm guessing only Anderson was at shep's trial. I mean we didn't get to see the trial, but i doubt Kaidan/Ash would've had time to peg it from the trial grab some armour and guns, head to mars to grab the normandy and then get back to earth to grab Shep. Bit of a shame, but i'm guessing Anderson and Hackett were expecting the reapers soon and had Kaidan/Ash ready to charge in to get Shep out alive. I can tolerate them being part of the cavalry instead though :)

I wonder if Kaidan was given the Normandy. As in it's technically his ship now since Shepard is on trial.  B)

 Mizz that pic is...:o:wub: Amazing!

I don't if Joker would let Kaidan take the ship.  But I can see that happening...although my shepard would definitely want it back. ;)

I don't know if I know want angst.
If you look at Kaidan in ME1, the interactions with him were far from angstful.

Like I said in the Ash Thread, I bet this will sadly never happen :crying:
We can be grateful that BioWare gave us at least two new pictures.
This and the early Full time Squad member Announcement is honestly more I ever expected!
After they ignore Kaidan and melded him and Ashley into one person in ME2, my faith in BioWare was very, very, very small. I'm still warily, I fear that ME3 Kaidan is only Ash's Placeholder again.

But I also think the Kaidan Community generally should be more louder (on Twitter,Facebook etc.), look the BSN polls, Kaidan is everytime in the front positions. I don't think we are in this supposed
minority (Yes I know the stupid Interview with Casey Hudson and Mr. *insert curse here* Goldstein)
but we doesn't should give Haters this satisfaction and make us self smaller we actually are!
If the Kaidan Community bomb DSilverman, Christina Norman, Jesse Houston... with Requests for more Kaidan in Promo Stuff maybe we see him in the FemShep Trailer.
Wow I think this is the largest Post I ever make in the KAST, I hope it's not too awful

I was thinking the same thing.  It is possible that Kaidan could have been promoted to Captain during this time.  With him being a Spectre, the same fuss would be made over him needing a ship and a crew.  The Alliance has the Normandy available.    Now I wonder, who found the picture of Kaidan in her cabin?

I was wondering the same thing but the one thing I thought of was that Ashley is only an LT don't you have to be a higher rank to be in command of a ship? But then again if Kaidan is in command this may mean Bioware is treating the VS as two seperate characters which is awesome. Cause they are very different and it seemed for awhile Bioware forgot that.

This guy is actually the editor-in-chief? Wow. His lack of professionalism is astounding.

Normandy 1 was commisioned by Alliance but it was completely destroyed.
Alliance did not build Normandy 2.
Cerberus took shematics of Normady 1 and build a far better Normandy 2. Shepard and her team even further upgraded it.
After Collectors Base Shepard "steals" Normady 2 from Cerberus, not realy stealing, as they did give it to her.
Normandy 2 needs repairs, they do "side" missions, scanning for resources etc in order to get her fixed, no credits from Alliance or Council, thus making the ship even more the property of Shepard than before.
I very much doubt that Shepard would allow Alliance to take her ship away and giving it to someone else to command. She would order her crew to conceal the ship (maybe even with Andersons and Hacketts help), and turning in herself for trial.
Anderson or Hackett sends Kaidan/Ash to the ship in the case that something happends, their comm links not blocked or traced as they all belong to Alliance (commlink from either of them to Normandy itself or either of Sheps crew would probably be watched), call it contagency (hope I got the word right) plan.
The trial goes however it goes, Reapers or whatever attacks, Anderson and Shepards starts shooting, Normandy comes to rescue.

Anyhow, I think it could be something like this. I can of course be completely wrong.:pinched:

You're right.   If Ashley rank is Lieutenant, she wouldn't be in command of a ship.

Because we are to have different experience because of the choices we've made through out the series, maybe there will be a different set of circumstances if Kaidan is the VS instead of Ashley.   Well, I can hope that they have finally separated the two.  They both are wearing Spectre armor.  Ashley looks like she's wearing leather while Kaidan is in  medium or heavy armor?  It's a start.  I'm happy about that.
