Still here! The other thread moves so insanely fast that it's easy to forget about this one.

I'm right there with the people who aren't for the S/S Kaidan romance. No offense to those who are up for it, but there's just too strong a reference to Kaidan's preference in women that a sudden interest in men would feel really off to me. Needless to say I wasn't a big fan of what they in DA2 romance-wise.

For the record, I'm not against S/S romances at all. It's when it threatens characterization that I do.

There's just much more to speculate/talk about in the other thread with ME3 coming in next year. Doesn't mean this should die an untimely death, though. I'm not really a regular here, but I'm bound to pop in every once in a while for discussions and sharing and whatnot.

I don't think it threatens anything. References are there as nranola says, but I don't understand this whole "it's gonna ruin his/her character!" thing. Then again, I don't discuss s/s romance, it's not directed to me, I won't pick that option, so why I should be interested in something that won't be in my game, I'm like that unfortunately.

For now new thread is just, apart from occasional speculating and s/s hope, one whole picfest, because, there's - let's be honest - nothing much to speculate. There are things I'm interested in, but I kinda regret I asked mods to fix my problems with posting there. I browse ME3 threads, sometimes click to comment something, but then I erase everything and decide to keep away :x

Didn't mean to turn this into another s/s discussion, I just stated I have nothing to add to said discussion since I'm not a fan where Kaidan is concerned

My mind has just gone blanc on the Kaidan subjects we've discussed so many times over, even if I try to jump into them again with new visitors to this thread. And since we can't really 'chat' in here without Bioware spanking us for it, again I have little left to add....cept for art....if RL allows it. Hence the 'retire' (does make me feel old) part, again I have nothing to add.

I do find it a shame the group has split up, but again it's logical...this is the ME1 and 2 forum, that one the ME3 but the split started as soon as we got some ME3 Kaidan info and those who want to stay spoiler free felt they couldn't come here anymore, which is not good either

@TZ I understand, it's easy to reply with spoilers in here when we're all bouncing with enthusiasm, forgetting the spoiler tags. When people feel the need to bounce and scream said spoilers, they can go to the other thread

I just don't want to see Kaidan (or any other LI for that matter) swing the other way from out of the blue. Like I said, there's been several indications for Kaidan's preference for women, and little to none for a preference in men; I'm concerned about how they would make him fit for S/S without it being too much of a shocking revelation. That's about it, really. If an S/S Kaidan doesn't feel too disconnected from what's been shown so far then I have no complaints.

I know this topic has been touched on a million times, but those are my two cents.

This is the way I feel mostly about it. Of course, I still enjoy Kaidan very much and I'm just in the middle of a new playthrough with him ^^...lol...and probably will have some more until next year ^^

I can understand that there is the ME3 Thread now, because like you already said, many people want to stay spoiler free...*giggles*...not me, but a lot others and I respect that.

...I'm like a sponge and want to suck in any Kaidan news.

The main issue with trying just to “skip by spoilers” is that it’s not that easy to do, I’ve seen people say “spoiler incoming” and then just dive right into it onto the next line. It’s unfortunate that BW doesn’t have actual spoiler tags so that people can hide the spoilers.
 

If people want to put spoilers in both places I have no problems withdrawing from here until after ME3 is released, I’m not trying to tell people what to post where. I just had hoped when TZ made her suggestion regarding leaving this thread spoiler free that those of us that have been around KAST for a long time and aren’t interested in having the ME3 story spoiled would still have a place we could chat occasionally and share fan fic / art.

This.  And like Akodo, I don't care about the s/s thing.  It won't matter in my games, so whatever.  

But... I don't want to know more than what I already know or figured out.

Or even "SPOILER!!!!We will have this and that in ME3!!!". It's a lucky occasion newer forums are disposed higher in forum choice page - most of the people won't scroll down and let the emotions fountain in the appropriate, ME3 dedicated part. The bookmarks complicate things, however.

@ spoiler alerts:  Its like a car accident.  You don't want to look but you just can't help yourself.  I would hope that people would respect people's wishes and stay spoiler-free here and take their spoiler content to the other thread.
I respect those of you that have the willpower to keep unspoiled.  I wish I had it.

I have started to write The Shepard Chronicles.  Its a series of messages Kimbri Shepard writes to Kaidan through ME2.  There will be no spoilers in this story.  Its strictly what happes in ME2 and ME2 DLC.

I got curious and snuck in to read it. Started some time before midnight and that was clearly a mistake, since I couldn't stop reading..I had to read every last sentence and by the time I was finished the dark sky had turned to a lighter shade. Oops. Plus it took me a while to fall asleep after that, because my head was filled with everything that I'd read. So thanks for the tip! How often does akg.writes update the story?  (I sure hope the wait for chapter 46 won't be too long).

@Elisabeth_E - I've been following the Manipulations almost from the beginning, it's pushed its way into my top 3 favorite ME fics along with After the End and Iunctio. She updates every few day typically which is good because she always leaves me really wanting the next chapter.

There were too many things I missed from ME1 -- like really running around on more of the Citadel and I wanted to see the electronics district DX

Apart from missing Kaidan on my team, I also missed being able to read a dossier on him. The Shadowbroker had pretty many dossiers, but Kaidan's wasn't among them.
