FINALLY finished ME1 yesterday, hooray! Yay for space mage Adepts who only died a few times over the entire game (some sort of crazy record for me, haha)! And by some odd coincidence, in the scene where Shepard has apparently been crushed by Sovereign or whatever (last thought no doubt "WTF Joker, couldn't you aim it a different way?!?"), and the random security person found them, Kaidan was the one who looked all sad and depressed because she was gone. I squealed, my brother rolled his eyes, but I was happy.

So onto ME2 now (I want my real singularity back damnit!) and hoping my laptop will continue to cope with the graphics demands, haha.

Love for Kaidan! (oh horizon, you're going to suck aren't you?)

Sorry to drop by from another forum, but I'd like your opinion on something said on the Sebastian Support Group for Dragonage 2.

Several people are likening the Sebastian romance to that of FemShep and Kaidan. Can any of you enlighten me as to why? I don't have ME1.

Oh goody Horizon Funny thing, I was doing my first Insanity playthrough and was about to finally get to Kaidan on Horizon when my Xbox got the red rings of death...so sadly both Kaidan and Shepard are stuck there. Go figure rofl

What's even worse is that Horizon doesn't have that much of a negative impact on me anymore. Nowadays I just rejoice seeing and hearing Kaidan in that cutscene and since it's the only oppertunity to actually have some dialogue with him (even though it's cringe worthy to say the least)...I just enjoy it nonetheless. Maybe it's because of how ME3 is just right there around the corner, not sure.

I really just squeed at his "Lilith" at the beginning of the Horizon cutscene....it's sad really lol. I guess with the wait for some closure being over soon, I seem to treasure what we do have a bit more.
Whereas shortly after ME2's release I was growling at Horizon left and right after the long wait to continue the romance....can't believe it's been this many years...gosh I hope the closure we get for Shepard and Kaidan is going to be rewarding.

I've always had this love/hate thing with Horizon.
Yeah, its a highlight of the game since its the ONLY Kaidan we get in the game with the exception of the intro.
And I know what you mean about him saying "Lillith."  I hate that its her name, but its said so gravelly and hot.  So wonderfully Kaidan's voice.
And he looks so good on Horizon.  Yeah, I know.  Bad teeth animation and some eye crossing or something.  But beyond that, so fit and trim in his armor that just seems to emphasize how gorgeous he is.  Yet his face shows the strain of those years that he had been away from Shepard.

I really hate, though, how you're ramrodded into saying things that I never would have my Shepard say.  I feel trapped in those awful choices of dialogue--more so than feeling trapped into working with Cerberus in the game.  Where are the Paragon or Renegade interrupts?  Why can't my Shepard respond to his "loved" line?  Why can't she come up and hug him and say "thank God you're okay!" rather than "How ya doin?"  Ugh.  Why can't she tackle him like in one of the more fun fan fics I've read?

But I do love how the who sequence of emotions are right there, animated on Kaidan's face as he goes through his rangs of emotions in talking to Shepard.

I anxiously await ME3 and being reunited with him.  I hope that BioWare has gotten the message that Kaidan is a beloved character, not hated by everyone and does his character and his romance justice.

Had a dream last night that was a way different opening of ME3 that had Kaidan helping my Shep break out of prison. What made it weird (beside the fact it's a sign I'm obsessed and the fact it was kind of like a milder version of a Borne movie) was that Kaidan was going on about how he wanted to have kids with my Shep and how he wasn't sure if his biotic talents would be passed onto the kids. Also, the two had enough time while escaping to look at what was essentially people's yard sales.

Gah! ME3 can't come out soon enough! But at least I'm going to NYCC in two weeks or so and BioWare will be there.

I know this post is three months old but from the perspective of someone who has played both romances...they are nothing alike. The romance with Sebastion never even really goes anywhere.
