How would you see a bromance continuing after the events of Horizon? I mean, from the perspective of 'this guy had my back, he's my friend, stupid writing events kept us from watching each others back again.' Teaming up again, would there be awkwardness, a couple of bits of harsh language, maybe a shared beer while you checked out chicks, how would that flow? Would there be an initial mistrust or would it be more like "**** happened. It's over. Let's get a beer."
And in case you think me mental...not a far stretch, by any means...I try very hard to make the guys sound and act like guys in my fics. Not what I think guys act like or guys sound like, but how they are, how they would react. Consider this research, I guess. Oh, and thanks for indulging my madness.
This one is an interesting question. I had to think about it a bit.
I actually think that it would be easier to repair a relationship between manShep and Kaidan than to repair a relationship between a femShep and Kaidan who were LIs.
I think there might be some tension at first, but Kaidan is thoughtful enough that he could work through it.
They would need to talk things out, though the talk won't be as intense as between femShep and her LI Kaidan. I think it will be very easy if Shepard blows up the Collector's base and severs ties with Cerberus. If Shepard opts to hand the base over and stays with Cerberus, things will be a little more tense - the friendship might not even be the same again. I think Kaidan would always wonder if Shepard is being manipulated by Cerberus.
Regardless of Shepard's decisions at the end of ME2, I think Kaidan will be capable of working with him. It looks like Earth will be under attack in ME3, so I think Kaidan would understand that he needs to put aside any lingering anger for the time being.
