I knew the comic wouldn't do Ash and Kaidan any well deserved justice, but I didn't expect it to be that bad.

He's still a good kid. FemShep is a pedo if she's with him. Besides that, Liara is the canon romance choice. I'm not surprised in the least; Liara has gotten the most fanservice out of any character to date. 

And I think Hale overacted that narration waaaaay too much. I'm usually a fan of hers but that was overdone.

What? You mean to say that you didn't gain a newfound appreciation for the asari *nudgenudge winkwink*?  

The first time I played ME1, I was reluctant to even use Liara on a mission.

I mean, she's a scientist, not a marine. The other squad members at least establish that they know how to fight.  With Liara... You just have to kind of come in and drag her behind out of the fire on Therum. That experience made me think that she should be kept on the ship, where she's safe.

Eventually I did use her and found out how useful her biotics are. Makes me wonder why she wasn't capable of defending herself on Therum, though.  She could have at least contributed in the final battle there, instead of just curling up into a ball.

Agreed, the interactive comic is a joke. As much as I like Liara, Bioware dont even try and hide there favouritism, it's insulting.

Meonlyred, it's better not to direct our disappointment towards Liara as a character but towards the ones responsible for forcing her into a role that doesn't do her character justice either.

Oh I didn't mean anything against her, just found that comic funny. She is alright, just awkward sometimes. She did get a lot of brownie points with me in LotSB.

Just wish they would focus on other main cast.

I'm just going to add more support to that statement.  It's ridiculous how much attention has been showered on her.  It's frustrating when she's had an entire comic (it might have been atrocious, but the attention was still there), a DLC, and now this even more blatant favoritism and the VS has had next to nothing.

To date Joker and her are the only 2 crew members who haven't been able to die. Yeah there is Kaidan or Ashely but still one of them dies on Virmire.

BioWare really have some weird lesbian fetish that they want to inflict on all women (which is fine for lesbians, no problem at all with that, but I am not one..........)
It just sucks that Kaidan and Ash are marginalised this way. There are several crew members I would have left in Ash's place on Virmire, if I am honest. BioWare's behaviour towards the VS causes resentment to otherwise innocent characters........... <_< 
Surely the farce that is ''I am not a woman'', should be removed now that Liara is constantly referred to as 'she'!

There isn't any bashing going on here. Really. I've seen character bashing. This is just mild disgruntedness at author's pet syndrome.

Though I would argue the schoolgirl point especially if we're talking about ME1 Liara. And the blushing point as well.

Though really this just gets me angrier about the whole "Asari aren't female" nonsense. Gah.

I know you guys will hate me for this but I loved Virmire. It was intense mission, with an impossible choice you had to make. Yeah I totally could have picked someone else I would have to die in Ash/Kaidan place, but by having to choice between one or the other gave a strong emotion connection to the story. You already were trying to stop Saren from destroying all life but now you really wanted to murder him from making you choice between your LI and best friend.

I wouldn't. But then again I've been in the HP fandom for years. You want character bashing? You go in there. And of course some would label it as bashing. Some label pointing out valid flaws in characters to be bashing. 

Hell I got accused for bashing Liara for saying handing Shepard over to Cerberus could've backfired astronomically and having the audacity! of wanting Shepard to be anything but buddy buddy with her.

Good that I wasn't talking about you then.  And I don't particularly care about the HP fandom or what might be going on there. All I'm saying is that we aren't doing this thread any favours by posting this sort of comics and treat Liara as if she's personally responsible for BioWare neglecting Ash and Kaidan.
