I agree on most parts. Certainly the lack of Kaidan in ME2 got to me on a level and I have a hate-love thing going with Horizon and the simple fact that answering messages and mails is not an option - but once ME2 is accept as - well, ME2 and not ME1 part 2, it becomes enjoyable.
Sure - some of the nice options from ME1 are missing, and it feels more linear - oh and I sometimes wonder how my crew mates survive the missions in their outfits - but it really isn't so bad.
I actually like the combat, I like some of the new weapons, I like the fact that my Shepard can run around in bright green armor with purple stripes if she so chooses to and I certainly love the spacehamster, my undying and well fed fish, Mordins musical solos, the discussions with Samara, Joker and Edi's developing friendship, the hope that Mordin might find a way to help Thane and thus help Kolyat keeping his father but more than all, I like the fact that I can show TIM the finger at the end, keeping his ship for myself and some of his crew as well.
The fact that we didn't try to escape Cerberus earlier, that I didn't fire my Cain at TIM directly after Horizon, that I didn't kick Anderson in the butt for not trusting me - well, they are my Frodo scenes from the LotR movies - I skip them, at least in my head.
Not everything is perfect - not everyone will like the story from head to toe but I have hopes for ME3. I'm not willing to believe that BioWare will run us over with their big EA-we-need-more-customers-truck, I am not willing to believe that they don't know we exist and that we are some of the most loyal customers of their company.
Sure, us being the only ones without a DLC is annoying but to be honest - I'll glady not wait for a DLC if the final result of ME3 makes up for it. I won't give up - there's always hope.
Hmm - top of the page. Kaidan is a fighter - he won't give up either!
