What, exactly are you looking for?

Staff Commander Kaidan Alenko:  Assignment Normandy SR-2 Liaison

Staff Commander Kaidan Alenko:  Status:  classified

Something that sums up what we want for Kaidan in ME3...like squadmate in ME3 but making it sound more 'official', as if taken from ingame....gah, I'm not sure how to explain it, hence why I can't come up with a one liner either lol

Like if you had to write an one liner to go underneath the ME3 logo for Kaidan, what would it be? Does that help?

edit for top of the page Kaidan again...brought to you by diraemythos :

But, would you really be saving Kaidan in that instance, Sesh? If you chose him over the galaxy, don't the Reapers win?

No. I save Kaidan, kill the reapers with my ultimate Turian/Reaper tech weapon and reproduce a new Shenko race...perfect end......

Oooooh!  Re. a new neat and snappy reference to supporting Kaidan (for possible sigbars?), what about Sentinel Ally for ME3?  Something referencing the Sentinel Ally achievement for ME1 anyway.  I've installed ME1 on a bunch of different computers after a couple of them got nuked, and Kaidan's Ally achievement is the only one I've gotten on all computers.  :-D

Hmm, Sentinel Ally could work as a name for the pic itself :) I'll just keep working on the piece itself and then maybe it'll become clear what I'm looking for :)

Curious to know, do you think the fault in Horizon has to do with how Kaidan is written (as in, do you think he was out of character) or in the way Shepard was written? Because I really understood Kaidan's anger, and felt it was in keeping with his character, but none of the responses from Shepard would be what my Shepards would have said. Way too passive on her part.

In my opinion Kaidan was out of character in that he wasn't willing to hear Shepard out.  The worst of Horizon however was how they wrote Shepard.  They make such a huge deal about what an eloquent speaker Shepard is but then on Horizon she just turns into a babbling idiot.

And yes, Shepard is far too passive on Horizon.

Well I've just expressed my opinion on one forum about the need for the Kaidan/Ashley DLC and just got my head bitten off but I can't have people talking bad about Kaidan now can I Posted ImagePosted Image we'll defend him and his right for DLC Posted Image...hopefully (crosses fingers) I guess Kaidans reaction was understandable he was hurt and annoyed that Shepard didn't try to contact him, but I agree with the above comments I would have loved the comments that Shepard gave to have had a little bit more emotional impact instead of "Its been too long Kaidan how have you been" (well at least we got a hug huhPosted Image) ok is it sad that I reload the Horizon mission just so my Shepard can get the KaidanHug lol

You know, it's not in my nature to think positively.  Bioware shafted both my warden and my Shepard so I fully expect to be shafted once again in ME3, if only for the fact that my Shepard didn't choose one of the shiny new "compelling" love interests available, lol.  I can see Kaidan being cannon fodder in ME3, going out in a blaze of glory to save Shepard, at which point the game disc will go flying across the room, lol

I hope DA:O satisfied the wish of BioWare in making "happy life with LI but committing something awful/one of you is dead" choices. Waiting since ME1 to get this in the end will be frustrating

I hate to play devil's advocate but what if a happy ending with Kaidan doesn't make sense? Personally, I don't really want a ultra super happy ending for Mass Effect. I'm not saying I want Kaidan to die, good god no! But would a white picket fence and 2.5 children really be in their future? Would Shepard retire after all this? I mean she is still young and I don't see her hanging up her M-920 Cain any time soon.

Then there is Kaidan, he is in the Alliance to help people, to do some good as he says it. Would he really stay home and be a house-husband waiting for Shepard to return every few months? How would it work for them to able to work together, would he have to leave the Alliance? How would post ME3 work with them? These are the questions that have been bothering me about the epilogue to the ME trilogy.

I have to agree with your comment there Posted Image I think that a marriage ending may be a bit too predictable tbh for both Shepard and Kaidan Id say the happy ending should be that they didn't die lol the reapers are gone either for good or for another 50,000 years trapped in dark space and its left to our imagination where they decide to take their relationship maybe?? although one things for certain we definately want to see a bit more Alenko than we did in ME2 lol It's certainly going to be interesting to see where all this goes in ME3.

I don't think they will actually show a wedding or anything. However, I sorta like what Shepard tells Grunt...how she's not planning on living this life forever.
A happy ending is all in the eyes of the beholder really, what IS a happy ending? It's different for most players. ME1 had a lovely happy ending if you ask me, though I'm hoping the trilogy doesn't just end with a shot of Shepard alone...I would love a shot of Shepard and her LI at least..have them kissing in front of a crowd or something lol

I'm curious to see where it's all going.

Thats actually a really good idea =) I think an ending with Shepard alone will make us (well i know it would me anyway lol) feel really deflated I mean we carried the relationships through the trilogy we at least want something that resembles Shenko happiness lol...i want to draw that image that you've just described now lol

I can see the ending working both ways and in my opinion it should be open ended enough to allow the player to draw their own conclusions.

One of my all time favorite pieces of fanfic is Chem's After the End where Shepard and Kaidan have retired from the military to settle down and raise a family.

I really enjoyed that one to. I love the idea of Kaidan as a daddy. I have a feeling he would be helpless to the whims of his youngins.

Shepard: "Dear, you actually bought her a pony didn't you?"
Kaidan: "No...maybe....yes...."

I can see my Shepard being maternal. And maybe starting a family years down the road. But that is just MY Shepard. But I know not everyone plays their Shepards the way I play mine. My point I guess is I don't want Bioware to tell me what Shepard does post-Reapers.

I agree with Shenzi - I can see it work both ways, too. A lot of it depends on what type of person Shepard. is. Also, being married doesn't mean you're glued to each others sides forever.

Yeah, I'm exactly the same way.  As super awesome as it would be to see a wedding at the end for my main Shepard, that wouldn't fit at all for my renegade character.  And I wouldn't want to box in anyone else who has other imagined plans for their Shepard's future.

As long as our chosen LI is featured in the end of ME3 along with Shepard, I think I'll be happy.  I loved the end of ME1, but I would have liked even a little acknowledgement of Kaidan in the end scenes (like him being there waiting while Shepard walks away from the meeting with Anderson and Udina).  It would feel kind of empty if ME3 ended without giving us some closure with our LI.

Something like that would work as a ME3 ending. Shepard is being presented with a metal all Star Wars A New Hope like. She walks off stage to find her LI waiting for her, all s/he would say to Shepard is "Ready to get out of here?" or something like that. That would leave it opened ended enough for us to fill in and guess where they are going from there.
