!!! Another Starcraft fan?

To answer the question about Alenko... no, I don't think it's a typical Canadian surname but even now there's a lot of immigration that means a lot of people have heritage from countries other than their country of birth.  Is it time to dust off the old conversation about what ethnicity (besides sexy) Kaidan might be?

A mutt
But honestly he could past for any darker complected ethnicity. I've heard everything from Italian to Asian. I would be curious to ask the bioware design team what did they have in mind while designing him.

Man, he could pass for many different Ethnic groups.

I see a lot of Spanish/Italian in him myself. My husbands LT is actually Filipino, and his voice and looks remind me A LOT of Kaidan, though no where near as handsome.

So maybe he has a bit of Filipino in him? Would make some sense, sense a lot of people seem to see the asian and latin in him, and many people from the Philippines are a mix of Thai, Chinese, Spanish and Italian.

Definitely not a 'kid.' I mean he actually looks like he could be 32, not 23...
Why couldn't Kaidan look like that in the PS3 comic?

Dude, Jared had a full beard when we were in 10th grade, facial hair means nothing. XD

And why couldn't we see much of Kaidan at ALL in the PS3 comic. Barely got any kind of look at him! :crying:

Here's something I've just thrown together (hence the shoddy quality as I had to do it on Paint O_o lol) but I think its high time that our Kaidan gets his own action figure being as there's little or no Kaidan merchandise Posted Imagewhat do you say? I'd definately buy 1 Posted Image

Unfortunately, not at all Starcraft fan. I like this game but it seems to I'll never be swift enough to be good in it :crying: However, my boyfriend definitely is a fan and I just enjoy watching.
About ethnicity - I apologise for necromancy on old topics, as a newcomer I should do more research what was discussed and what wasn't. To feel myself less guilty I may say that I haven't seen conversations considerng  possibilities other than "is Kaidan Canadian?", but I could easily just miss that moment.

Not a big deal.  Until we get new stuff... topic necromancy is all we have to talk about.  Just wait till the PS3ers get here.

PS3 player questions
"What do you mean he is older than Shepard?"
"Who is this Rahna you guys mentioned?"
"What is so special about L2 implants?"
"What is this about headaches?"
"'The locker scene?' What is that?"
"Who makes who feel human?"

All I can say is, youtube boys and girls, hours and hours of youtube videos will be needed.

Speaking of Youtube, has anyone seen a video of the comic where femShep actually chooses Kaidan over Liara?

LOL My boyfriend is the one who got me into it.  He'd probably kick my ass if we ever went head-to-head but we make an awesome 2v2 team.  My Terran compliments his Protoss perfectly and wow, my brain just went somewhere really bad with that one.

As for the resurrecting old topics, don't worry about it... I meant what I said in a good way, and obviously plenty of people are still very happy to discuss the topic.  Plus, like Sia said, there's not much else to talk about at this point that hasn't already been brought up.  Personally, I go with Eastern European and/or Italian for him... maybe some Asian but not a dominant part... his features just don't look that Asian to me.

I agree the Kaidan/Shepard romance is what makes ME1 special to us and to all the Kaidan fans around the world :) it certainly gives me the warm fuzzies each time I play

What she and Sialater said. We are in much better positions than the DAO forums. The Alistair thread has very nearly run out of steam (topics have been recycled and regurgitated a million times) and apart from his cameo in DA2 (the VA said he recorded < 50 lines and that accounts for all possible outcomes, depending on player choices in the end), his story is pretty much done. We still have much to look forward to with Kaidan. I am climbing the walls waiting for them to do their slow, painfully gradual reveal of who our ME3 squadmates will be. (Well, that and new wallpapers/avatars.)

I'm not sure if this is OT and I will take it down if it is, but I'm considering doing a total media blackout for ME3, no looking at ads, dev diaries, who the new squaddies are, etc., to try and keep all the surprises a surprise. Is it worth it? Or should I peek and look at all the new Kaidan and ME3 goodness?
