I'm reading every spoiler I can and will withhold a purchase on ME3 until I'm sure it'll be a game that I like because I don't trust BW with the changes that happened between ME1 and ME2.

Is it worth it? Or should I peek and look at all the new Kaidan and ME3 goodness?

I'd love to do that (it would have made some events in ME2 much more dramatic - but not  Horizon, as I wasn't spoiled about that at all and it was incredibly shocking).   The truth is, though, I know I don't have the willpower to stay away.   If you can manage it, I salute you.  :-)

I'm going to spoil myself rotten for ME3 and DA2, lol. I can't help myself, and I won't be getting ME3 if the story sucks, I was too disappointed in ME2 to trust the 3rd one.

Well, they're not done putting out DLCs for ME2, aren't they? There's at least one more coming? I would wait a few more months at least. I think they'll put out a DLC before they start releasing heavy info about ME3. I could be wrong. Just wouldn't want you to miss out on DLCs because of a media blackout.

For what it's worth, I'm completely looking at all DA2 info (honestly not that much out there). I am sooo impatient that I've already done my taxes, too, lol. =D

Renegade awesomesauce. Gosh renegade Kaidan always makes me go Rawrrr. It's really too bad I can't renegade him personally since I'm a softy, so reading fanfics where he's more edgy makes me a happy, little, rabid fangirl

You're welcome But truly looking at that picture makes the anxious/fear of ME3 or the new DLC bearable... I mean just look at him, how can anyone mistreat that biotic god!

I'm trying to be optimistic here. Kaidan has a dedicated fan-base, that's us, and we are giving him all we've got...so I'm keeping my fingers crossed and know for a fact that BW won't let us down. They managed to make 2 excellent games, and yes I think ME2 is excellent.

Sure, it's not as good as ME1, and I agree with that, but as a stand-alone game, this by all standards is an excellent and compelling game. It has nice characters and a good plot, it just lacks what we loved about ME1, and I am keeping my fingers crossed for BW to make us happy in ME3 and the DLCs. Liara was left out for quite sometime and they managed to make the Liara fans very happy, they'll do the same for us.

They just have to.

I'll argue with you there, lol.  It sort of has a plot, if you look hard enough for it.  I blinked and missed it on the first playthrough, lmao

and we'd better get a Kaidan role that makes us happy or Bioware and the ME devs will have to go into hiding from the raging fangirls/boys with pitchforks and torches, not to mention the Ashley fans joining us as well, lmao

So I read an interview with David Gaider about DA2 chars and romances in particular and although I know ME and DA have different teams, do you think they work that way for the ME trilogy as well? And what would that mean for Kaidan?

Thought that was an interesting read, specially

I would be happy if Drew Karpyshyn just came back as head writer and Mac Walters took a hike.

Mac seems to be behind a lot of the screw ups. He doesn't even hide the fact that hes going more for HIS vision of things in the ME universe. He hasn't stayed true to anything that has came from ME1. Heck, he was a lead writer on ME2 and he couldn't even keep consistent with that in his comics. Makes me rage just a bit.

Unless they plan on killing off whomever is the player's LI, it's not gonna happen...and since pretty much all LI's cept for Liara could be dead already...I don't see that working. That's a lot of killing off to do in the span of 2 games or even 3 in Kaidan's case.
"Oh your LI survived the suicide mission? Well we can't have that *Bioware kills off the LI in ME3*"

"Ah yes, the Virmire Survivor....you won't be surviving ME3. We gave you a cameo in ME2 to 'save you' for ME3, just to kill you off muahahaha"

I honestly don't think they'll make the VS (or any LI) have a forced death within the span of ME3.  I really don't.  I was just saying that if Gaider was doing the writing... it would definitely come down to "Kaidan dies!" or "Kaidan had to sleep with Admiral Xen!"   There would be zero chance at a happy ending.

He's SUCH a sadist.
