I honestly don't think they'll make the VS have a forced death.  I really don't.  I was just saying that if Gaider was doing the writing... it would definitely come down to "Kaidan dies!" or "Kaidan had to sleep with Admiral Xen!"   There would be zero chance at a happy ending.

He's SUCH a sadist.

Worse.  He's a disciple of Joss Whedon.


I want my happy ending, dammit.

Well... I have to say, I'm a disciple of Whedon, too. 

But I diverge on the principle of how the story should end.  I like to reward my characters for their pain.

I think one part of it is that VS fans are waaaaay more vocal lately, so the haters are being louder too.  Another thing is the DLC coming up, and whether people like it or not, they're thinking that there's a good chance that Kaidan and Ashley will be featured in it.  Another thing is that many people believe that the Virmire Survivor is likely to come back as a squadmate in ME3...and they're not so sure about the ME2 squadmates.

Basically, Liara gets a pass right now, but Kaidan and Ashley are going to get tons of hate until there's a list of who's staying or leaving as squadmates in ME3.  I can't even bring myself to hope that they're in for sure, personally.

Got it.    My brain's still really messed up from a cocktail of cold medications (as well as trying to accept the prospect of imminent death by mystery respiratory infection), so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't coming off the wrong way.

True, love or hate the VS...it's filling these boards. For a character often described as 'boring and bland' Kaidan sure triggers a lot of emotion in people lol

I hope the next DLC is announced soon, even though I have no reason to believe it will be a VS one. Just want to know what it is.

hi to the new thread. i've been quite awol, but its nice to see the kaidan love continue.

i made a poll that has nothing to do with kaidan, unless you count how HE likes to see femshep look. but since we're talking polls...

um, yeah, that's all i have to say until word on the VS shows up. in some ways, this super quiet of BWs has me wondering if they have some brilliant, early-game thing for the VS in ME3...but then, i am the eternal optimist.

Don't sweat the surge of Kaidan/Ashley hate. The DAO board goes through the same cycle where they're now hating on insignificant supporting characters simply because they've run out of steam on the bigger topics and have heard every possible argument/rebuttal from the regular members. I think a large part of is from the lull between games since DA2 is about to come out. Every time WoW is about to release an expansion, people get bored with the current game, stop raiding or they log on wasting time with alts because they simply just want the expansion to come out. Boredom leads to aggravation on the boards. Maybe the vibe on the ME boards will pick up once the players disappear playing their DA2 game.

Did anyone notice that the Cerberus Daily News is shutting down as of Jan 24 (one year post-release)? The squib says it will only do three more weeks, one week before a new DLC release, and two weeks before ME3 is released. Guess that means there's only one more DLC coming out... no word as to what that might be, though.
