Kaidan looks hot in Shepard's armor...

I agree.  I tried to keep it Alliance themed at least.

He is in need of an upgrade--I hope they bring him back with his own custom armor like they did with Liara.

So... Kaidan kicked Ashley off the elevator at gunpoint.  I don't know why; looking for some alone time with Shep, I guess?  Shep didn't even notice.  Now Ashley's probably gonna kick his ass.  Posted Image

Hey all! I've been lurking intermittently for a while (I think since the start of the version 2 thread  :bandit:). I figured it was about time I de-lurked and became an active member! And for the record, I absolutely adore Kaidan, but I think that goes without saying. He's the reason I played ME1 and continue to replay it...even if the MAKO makes me twitch. I like to think he's teasing my Shepard every time she goes flying off the side of a cliff, or gets stuck in a ravine.

Anyway, hello KAST! I have de-lurked just for Kaidan ;)

Yay for moar Kaidan! Can never have enough :)

@TZ Love the new avatar :)

Edit : Hello Nisus, glad to see another lurker coming out of hiding ;)

Question guys, often when reading fanfic, I see Kaidan's appartment being described as well...pretty much empty. Simple, clean, just a place to sleep. Why is that? :)
I think there could be stuff like paperwork, lots of books (to me he's an avid, old fashioned reader)...would there be art though? Hmm would he take the time to even decorate his home properly, I can imagine him spending a lot of time away from it.
Anyway just wondering :)

From my point of view Jho, I just see it as a place to lay his head. I'm just assuming that he's kept pretty busy by Anderson/Hackett/whoever, lol, and tries to keep himself pretty busy to avoid thinking too much, in the first year or so anyway.  but that's just me thinking in emo dribble mode, lol

Well I think the reason most describe it as being so bare is because he's away from it so much. Especially if the Alliance had him on those missions in/between ME2. (Speaking of, I'm sort of thinking, and hoping, that maybe the DLC will address the real reason why Kaidan/Ash were out on Horizon. If not most definitely in ME3.)

But I agree with you that he would have a few stacks of paperwork and books laying about
the place.

(Side note: Going take the time to finally say that I really love the fanart you and the others put out here. I consistently have to rotate which is my wallpaper for my laptop because they are all so... Guhhhh.  <---- Words fail me, the emote can do the talking. =P)

Being at his shoes, i wouldnt want to spend time to decorate a place i need only for sleep, and i would use my appartment only for that.........I wouldnt even want to be alone in a place, when all i could think of would be..my painfull memories....

No idea lol Sorry not much help when it comes to tech stuff ;) And I rotate my wallpaper a lot too, usually between clothed and shirtless Kaidan :P

And thanks for the responses. Yes I imagine Kaidan won't be home much. At least Shepard has her own ship and cabin she can call 'home', I can see Kaidan working alone and just boarding different Alliance ships to get where he needs to be. His appartment would have been a dark place shortly after Shepard's death, don't even think he would bother keeping the place clean either...though he strikes me as this 'neat' guy, who has a lot of structure in his daily routine. (neatly pressed clothes, everything properly sorted) Not sure what triggers that thought of him though :)

How long would it have taken for Shepard's pic to dissappear from his desk, if at all? I like the idea of him having some rare shot of him and Shepard together on the SR-1 or something, but still having it on his desk after two years..not so sure. Maybe a groupshot would be more neutral, or one with Shepard, Kaidan and Ashley.

I should be working right now, not thinking about what Kaidan's place would look like lol

Jho, the way I thought in my emo dribble was that he would have come to some realisation that he needed to move on, possibly spurred on by a friend, or the fact that he went for drinks with the mysterious doctor.  that's when he would have sighed to himself and put any pics of Shepard away.Posted Image

But now that he knows she's alive...and him sending that email...would the picture return? Actually I can see the picture being taken from the drawer and just lying on his desk, as if he gazed at it but never really putting it back...symbolic for how things are right now.

I can see Horizon having a real impact on him, so when he's back on the Citadel and alone...he may reflect on what happened, look at her picture and write her that mail?

I dont know  Jho...in rl if something like that happened to me, i would mourn but i would want to continue living. Maybe i would have a pic still and remove it only if i would find someone else, so i guess he could still have Shep's pic since he has not found anyone yet. Not very healthy tho .
and i should be preparing for working right now......Kaidan will be the reason i will be fired one of these days :)

Thats how I see it Jho.  I think he would have looked at the picture for a long time before he actually wrote the email, trying to sort out his emotions.  He may even replace the pic back in a drawer but keep being drawn to to it and taking it out to look at, possibly while waiting for a reply that never comes, except in fanfic, because apparently Cerberus technology only extends to receiving mail not writing/sending it, lolPosted Image

It's actually something I've been thinking about lately, tossing up whether to add a chapter or 2 to my Kaidan emo dribble fic, lol.

I love your um dribbles...okay that's sounding weird lol

But yes, Shepard not returning her mail is annoying...she should send at least two..to Kaidan and her mom (if a spacer). The Alliance must do some crazy stuff for her mom to be so understanding after assuming Shepard went deep undercover for two years and staged her own death

Timmah already knows something is going on between Shepard and Kaidan, that much is clear the way he talks after Horizon...he doesn't like the connection and wants it gone. So the whole "Cerberus checks my mail blabla" doesn't fly, unless Timmah decides to block outgoing mail.
Shepard's a smart girl, she could have written it down on a pad and handed it to Anderson or heck hire a courier to deliver it to Alenko. One of those singing delivery boys would have been funny, just a short message she got his mail but wants to speak to him in person. Would be even funnier if the singing messager was Elcor....but that's just me.....

re: Empty Apartment

I chose to go with this route in ENF because it evoked the kind of existence Kaidan was living. He had been grounded on the Citadel for months, and he still hadn't bothered to give the place the little things that most people do to make a place homier. Partially because I was trying to make an allusion that his life was empty and hollow to a degree, but also because being a marine evoked a spartan existence in my mind. Spending years going from one ship to another, you pretty much take what you need to live.

re: a picture of Shepard

I never really decided if he had one in ENF. I would think if he did, that he hid it around the time that he had felt it was time to try and move on. My Shepard wasn't a snoop, so she never had a chance to stumble across it. (Although, I like where Jilly had Kaidan keep his picture of Ella in LfW. Storing it on his omnitool makes really good sense.)

Bahahaha!

I personally see his place being a little messy. Not sloppy or dirty, just things out of place. And I totally see him keeping her pic around. Not up on a desk anymore, but I don't see him getting rid of it.
