On an unrelated note, has anyone else ever tried a playthrough with Engineer Shep? She's my main Shep and I always had her team up with Wrex and Kaidan for ultimate carnage.

I have an Engineer DudeShep. He is the one that was made for Ashley and got ninja'd by Liara...so I reloaded and saved his bff Kaidan instead.

I think I have played through all the classes at least once (more for sentinel and infiltrator) And Kaidan is always useful/pretty to have around.

My favorite ME1 class was vanguard. With Wrex and Kaidan, I was an unstoppable force.



I've played through every class in ME1 and found that Kaidan perfectly compliments any team.

what fort said. kaidan works for everything, even when he overlaps skills. the me1 wiki makes it sound like kaidan is pretty useless, esp. if you're playing a biotic. i found adept shep + kaidan + liara was a dream team on hard core. the mobs don't ever stay on their feet for more than a second. i would imagine engineer shep + kaidan couldn't go wrong.

I recently did the final fight with Saren with Adept Shepard, Kaidan, and Liara on Insanity. I swear that fight barely took a couple of minutes, the cut scenes were longer. Lift, sabotage, overload, marksman, and shoot; repeat until dead. My brother was watching and he goes, "holy ****, maybe I should save Kaidan on Virmire next time."



It made me really miss Kaidan in the fight against Vasir.

He realy does. Even when I played my Sentinel he was perfect for my squad.

Renegading Kaidan is a matter of using the intimidate option, which is labeled red. Never choose the red option and you'll be safe.

I normally pick "Do you?" thinking it's the most pro-alien option... but I'm questioning that now... Is "fair enough" the most pro-alien? I'm really confused on this...

If you ask if Rahna was okay, you skip the entire option to renegade him.

Other than that, as I understand it, you have to choose one of the charm/intimidate options or you don't renegade him either, you either agree to disagree or lose the romance.

Collide is right, I'm pretty sure it is both the renegade AND paragon persuade that can turn him more xenophobe. Someone has been documenting all Kaidan and Shepard's dialogue and that can show you thing exact moment where you can or not turn him. Anyone remember the link?

I most of the time stick to the paragon dialogue options so I never get the persuade at all. By the way, fun fact: only FemShep can turn Kaidan renegade, just like only ManShep can turn Ashley less xenophobe.
