Nope, he doesn't. And truth be told, I find that rather unappealing in a man. And I agree, the opposite sex can be interesting even without the "sex" part..! Friends are a good thing to have, Bioware.

@ Jenova, I know sorry probably didn't come across right I like Ash, but I just cannot bring myself to kill Kaidan. I have 1 play through where she lives and I just started yet another Shepard :/

@Collider - I need to do that at some point because now my curiosity has been peaked. though I can see how he'd be getting more annoyed as you lead him on more and more. I usually either go for romance all the way, or friends right form the beginning with all characters, I could never juggle relationships in real life so it transfers to my gaming as well.

edited to add - handling rejection well, to me its the oposite.  if I reject a guy after building up to something and they are OK with it and just seamlessly move to friend status, to me it just feels like they didn't care for me at all and it was just a sexual fling to them.  now if they get pissed of and get all cool and professional, I can understand that much better. I feel bad about it, but its more acceptable then, "I'm ok with watever, casue I don't care either way" attitude

I've "rejected" Kaidan before (w/out Liara, btw). There's a few ways to do it, with varying reactions from Kaidan. I'm fairly sure there's a polite way to turn him down. Because I'm a Kaidan geek, I have saves before every conversation with him. I'll let you all know if I find a way not to romance Kaidan as female Shepard without being mean to him.

The one time I shut Kaidan down was with my Shepard, Valerie. I did it during the "1st" romance dialogue. It was after he got done talking about all the personal stuff, and you can end it there. It wasn't overly harsh, and he just takes it as getting mixed signals. At least I didn't think it was overly mean or harsh.

Jacob does the 'not big on forcing these things', IF you try and talk to him too often........ I prefer Kaidan's 'I've wasted enough of your time....'', line, better! Makes me feel less like a desperate loser, lol.

but but...every time I bug him on my Jacob- friend playthrough he keeps talking about drinks and giving me bro-fist and bro hug...no matter how often I bug him its weird, i need to figure out what I did to get such a different result O_O

I wanted a femShep for ME2 that was not previously involved with anyone. And, I refuse to Virmire Kaidan just to keep him from "ninja-mancing" my character. (And, I couldn't qualify a good reason to not save him when there so he still made it into ME2).

I was able to see the conversations that a male Shepard gets with Kaidan, and see how vastly different the stories are. He's much slower at sharing certain tidbits of his life when not romancing Shepard. He still ultimately mentions Vyrnnus, but no where near as soon - or as in depth.

Well hi =) Just finished my first run of ME1. Got ME2 and played that one first, liked it and got ME1 after that. Finished it today and this is the first time that I got to play the Kaidan romance and boy do I wish there was some Kaidan dlc that I could get now =) I guess that there will be some way to meet up with him in ME3 and I won't let this shepard romance anyone else in ME2. She's waiting and hoping for ME3. I guess that I wouldn't mind if there were a few more conversations. I have romanced Alistair, Leliana and Zevran in Dragon Age and feel that I got to know them a bit better. If I could get some more Kaidan-time I would be a very happy girl =)

Ah, communication breakdown..........  He says that before you are buddies.....
After you are buddies he does the drink spilling, if you romance him he holds you hands and kisses you every time you go to him!

Ah, the one advantage of the Dark Horse comic! It has enabled me to have a single Shepard (and even that was tough, lol) for trying the Jacob romance in ME2.

Thanks to masseffectsaves.com now I even have a save with alive Ashley. I just couldn't make one of my Shepards, what are at least in a friendship with Kaidan, into a Cerberus loyalist in ME2 and wanted to see the development of such Shepard into ME3. I'm not so connected with Ashley so I don't have a feeling of betraying her

It's so sweet to tell Liara you're interested in Kaidan and see her only as friend and then get that line from Kaidan. "You can't even imagine what we've talked about"
