We now have two rogue arachers as possible companions. Which one will you choose to be in your party? Sabastian, Varrel, both, or neither?
I'll personally be choosing Sabastian if archers are given better talents than the ones in DA1. I always thought they were the underpowered spec.
Varric...primarily because I won't be able to get Seb (unless all the future DLC eventually comes out in disk form). Even if he were in the vanilla version, I'l probably rank them V then Seb. Of course, I would be SORELY tempted on bringing V, Seb, and 'Bela around as an all-rogue party

Suddenly, I want Varric to have a crossbow that fires other crossbows, each of which launches a guy playing electric guitar.

That being said if Sebastian is too much like Nathaniel Howe, I'll be quite angry as well. I just realized the only character I found likeable in Awakening was Sigrun, so if any rogues come along with her personality they are set to go with my party
Between the two listed though, I'd have to say Sebastian, his bow looks more bad-ass.

You do realize Sigrun is a dwarf lady. That would make your opening statement and your second paragraph a direct contradiction.XX-Pyro wrote...
Hate them dwarves. My first run through of Awakening I had my fingers crossed for Oghren to die. Naturally he didn't, so I left him to die in Vigil's keep while saving Amaranthine, which he somehow managed to survive.

the whole "unreliable" narrator bit
I dislike it, mind you I am totally ok with framed narrative or framing devices, just not the unreliable kind.

Also, his being "unreliable" (which I assume is what you mean by represents, as I've seen you moan about it before) means he can't shoot Bianca at the bad guys and make them die? I don't understand how his place in the plot alters how efficient he is in combat. What if he does more damage than Seb? Still not bringing him?

thanks, I'd rather just tell someone to "gtfo" straight up
and yes, even if Varric ended up doing more damage than Seb I'd STILL bring Seb.

That's silly.
not really. I'm entitled not to like him am I? Like some people thoroughly do not like Leliana or Velanna or Jack or JAcob?.....if there ever was a "virmire" decision involving Varric in DA2 (and sadly unless the framed narrative ends at some point there won't be) he is going to be the red shirt of the moment in my run.
I'm just not going to bring him with me just as I never brought morrigan along unless I had to
