Hello, hello.
Here's the story... After playing BG2 zillions of times, I go for the tactics mod and the tweak pack, including the Weimer shapeshifter rebalancing mod. So now werewolf shape is applied through a 'claw' weapon that using the ability puts in your inventory.
I have a shapeshifter, dual classed to fighter at 15. Normal werewolf shape had the unlimited duration, as intended by the mod. At level 13 and 14, before I dual classed, greater werewolf shape also had the unlimited duration as nature intended. But now that I've dualled and regained my druid abilities, greater werewolf shape seems to have a pretty limited duration. A few turns, maybe. Normal werewolf form is still unaffected.
If it doesn't just run out normally, resting or reloading the game will also cause me to unshift.
Google doesn't yield any results, and god damnit, I didn't put myself through 2 mil xp of dual classing uselessness just to have this shape run out on me, always at the worst possible moment, as buffs tend to.
Anyone know what the deal is?

More information.. as I said, the shapeshift is applied through an item. It seems that I can drop the werewolf claws as normal, but when I try dropping greater werewolf claws they just disappear. Not on the ground. Not in my inventory. Just gone.
Casting my mind back, I think I might have dropped greater werewolf claws when I dual classed. When I dropped it then, it was as normal. It stayed there on the ground as all obedient items should.
So, busting out the lateral thinking, I tried dropping regular werewolf claws, then resting, then shapeshifting into regular werewolf, then resting again. And bingo. Now regular werewolf is doing the same thing.
So I suspect the problem is that my greater werewolf claws are still sitting on the ground... somewhere. I'm not gonna lie, the idea of hopping around maps to try to find a single item on the ground doesn't exactly light any fires of delight within my heart. Burning-irritation, yes. Delight, no. So I don't suppose there's a console code or something that clears away all items on the ground in the entire game or something?

Just to continue this riveting blow-by-blow account of my own incompetence, I decided to import my characters back to the start of the game, use that trick where you pause the game at the start so you can keep your items, and then console myself back to the Underdark where I was earlier.
Oh, and it worked. My greater werewolf is now behaving as it should. Like a good dog. I just hope I didn't lose anything vital to the plot, like slayer change or something... maybe I should go back to the Asylum and continue from there.
But if someone knows of any potential alternative solution I could have used, I'd like to hear it. Thanks.

Look at your new savegame in shadowkeeper, find the item and make a note of it. Then look at your old savegame (you've still got it right) and add the missing item and make a new savegame, or use the console to CLUA it.
