Eventually. I'm really not good at it, though. I defiled the Ashes just for the achievement/specialization, and felt sick when I had to kill Leliana for it (it didn't help that it triggered the decapitation animation).

I always try to do a hardass character eventually, but I can't really make myself play someone who is evil for the sake of being evil.

That is usually how I am. I have a definitive plan for all my evilness but when I implement it I feel horrible and will start over. I usually have no problems playing a renegade in Mass Effect, though. Not sure why the difference with me.

Going to be a very naughty boy.

Always fascinates me when great heroes are born from utter bastards, and whether varrics retelling of our tale include his take on our actions or just the chosen hero bit.

I usually start off as a good male, and play as a ****y female on my second playthrough.

I've tried being a little evil in Bioware games, but I can never bring myself to kill people (just an example) for no reason, unless their thugs, in which case I'll do it for exp and loot.

The worst I've ever really done is be greedy and try to swindle an npc out of gear or something like that.

I'm always full renegade in my run throughs, but rarely that evil in Dragon age, (as I said sometimes the whim strikes me), the difference to me atleast is that none of the evil stuff really makes much sense, I have no qualms for effectively pissing about and choosing the most hilarious and evil options purely for comedy value but I won't take the story or the game seriously If I do so. Running circles around that Twi'lek who just wanted a dancing job whilst flailing my arms was one of the most hilarious points in my gaming career.

But yeah, defiling the ashes and destroying a panacea to all ailments instead of taking it for yourself and perhaps selling some to the highest bidder is far up my line of thinking than simply destroying it. Those evil choices never really made sense though some of them were messed up by meta knowledge, couldn't really justify killing all the elves for +1 constitution well that and my dad was in there it was still tempting though. Though I did make Isolde kill connor a few times, that was also hilarious.

Chaotic Neutral Hedonist Playboy run throughs are always fun

Hawke's 3 step program

1. Kill it/Sleep with it (Generally not in that order)
2. ???
3. PROFIT

Wow. That stuff really is evil.

Though I must admit, I tried the Gheyna seduction path just for fun, and Cammen's reaction was priceless

If you think that is priceless, play a female warden and seduce Cammen.  Now that is freaking priceless. Image IPB

Here's the link to it on youtube, www.youtube.com/watch

My main playthroughs will have my character be a bit of an ass when appropiate or for laughs, but overall, he's a pretty decent guy.

I have tried to be evil but I just can't be totally and indiscriminately bad. As a relatively moral person I gave a hard time understanding who enjoys that. The evil I do as a character usually is reasonable in some way, even when I killed wynn, she attacked me first. I tried to betray Alistair and just couldn't side with that douche who tried to kill me, Logain. So no, I won't be evil just for evil's sake but I may shiv any idiot who hinders my cause.

Eventually I do an evil playthrough for fun but I guess it will be easier now with the whole 'approval rivalry' thing. Before I found it really hard to make the evil choices seeing as though 70% of your party hated you for it.

Don't see how you can say making Alistair leave was a highlight. It was brutally hard for me :(

I had a bit of a psychopath on my hands with my "evil" Lady Cousland. She ended up with Morrigan (yay, equal love mod), mended a little, only to have herself left at the end. Stabbed her right in the gut in Witch Hunt, though. She was a bit of a mess.

But in DA2, I have a little vamp of a sociopath mage!Lady Hawke planned. I'm very excited for that playthrough.

Wow. That is fun.

My most fun so far as an evil guy was Force Persuading two dudes in KOTOR 2 to jump. Absa-lootely hilarious.

Sarcastic sociopath pragmatist lesbian rogue. The best kind. Not necessarily evil, just without conscience. Will do bad things if she deems it convenient to do so, but she won't go out of her way to kick a puppy.

It depends on how anti-hero Hawke is implemented. If s/he's like Renegade Shepard, then no. If s/he's like how I wish Renegade Shepard *had* been implemented (a pragmatist rather than a jerk), then quite possibly. I do tend towards goody-goody types in general, so it would make a change. (And sometimes a change is the most fun. For instance, I normally roleplay clever characters in D&D, but the most enjoyable character I ever played was a centaur with 6 Int.)

I wonder how "evil" Hawke can really get. I think it's going to be more of a brash jerk type of thing than a shank dagger wielding psychopath.

I used to be a Renegon kinda player in ME2 but after a while I was hoping that some parts of the game is possibly Chekhov's Armory, therefore I lean more towards Paragade now... Plus, I made a Samuel L. Shepard for a Worst Possibly Import ^^

So yes, I will be an evil Hawke, with Samuel L. Hawke.

No thanks. My LadyHawke might take a selfish route or play the field, but only where it makes sense for her to do so. She is basically a fence sitting, freewheeling "neutral" person. I can only see her being a jerk to people that rub her the wrong way. She is definitely not going to be a goody two shoes, though. Blood mage, ect...

I'll play through the game as both, but the 'evil' one will be purely to see the other side of the coin, per se. My 'good' play through will be my 'canonical' experience, and the one I will import into DA3 if it ever materializes.

The most fun I ever had when playing Origins was when I was being a total bastard to everyone.
Most of my Wardens were selfish, manipulative, arrogant, rude, greedy and borderline psychotic. And it was playing as those Wardens that I had the best playthroughs with.

Here are some of my favourite bits;

Hardening and romancing Leliana, then destroying the Urn of Sacred Ashes in front of her.

Sacrificing Isolde with Blood Magic and then make a deal with the Demon, totally screwing Arl Eamon over.

Seducing Gheyna and then bragging about it to Cammen. His reaction was hilarious.

Betraying Allistair at the Landsmeet. This is without doubt one of the highlights of DA:O.

Despite all my evil deeds, still being "The Hero of Ferelden".

I could go on but i'm sure you already get the jist of what i'm saying.
I'm so looking forward to being just as mean and heartless in DA2 as I was in Origins. How 'bout you lot?

Well. As for all Bioware games. I tend to be an anti hero. I do what I have to and if that means being an **** to some random person who gets in my way. Then thats that. I would punch people around in Mass Effect all the time. But was nice to my companions. So I will probably be an anti hero. Someone steps up, there gonna get knocked    down. But my friends will not be treated as such. I am planning on replaying the game several times. So I will probably play as each class as a male. And then as rogue as female to see how things vary. Thanks for asking though. I just registered at the forum and its nice to see people as nerdy as I am

I hope DA2 features characters as dislikable as Arl Howe, Vaughan and Habren were in the first game.

No matter how cold I can act or how power hungry I can be, I don't think I can go full on evil.. I'll probably end up blurring the line.. Like sacrificing peasants for a dark ritual one day.. and saving a lost kitten the next..

Im gonna do this on my second playthrough, because I find it even more satisfying to be evil after I have been a good guy and seen all the positive things I can do
