Why do people complain about Mark Meer so much?

My only pet peeve with Shep is when I hear "aboot"
and Meer voiced the Vorcha! That had to be fun in studio.
Here are a few youtube vids:
I should go .

As others have said, you really can't have a femshep switch between paragon and renegade; it doesn't work.

I think most of the fanboi hate is because MM doesnt quite nail the renegade lines the same way JH does. JH nails about 90% of the renegade lines spot on, whereas MM only hits about 75%. That said, the opposite is true of Paragon. MM hits about 90% of them spot on, where JH only hits about 75%.
Funny, in my experience, people usually say the exact opposite. Only without the completely unverifiable statistics.

I disagree on Renegade; MM nails them perfectly. JH doen't pull off the "big stupid jellyfish" line nearly as well, for instance.

Seems realistic enough to me; women tend to be as stable as a FemShep that goes Renegade every other dialogue wheel.

The one reason I can't play a femshep. I cant get over that monotone voice.

Really? I thought most guys don't speak with inflections unless they are really gay.

You need to be gay to change the tone of your voice?

He was either directed to be inoffensively generic or picked because that's how he sounds.
He sounds different naturally, as noted by some commentors on some video interview with Meer and Hale. My best guess is he was directed to speak like that.

Mark Meer isn't as monotone as microsoft Sam. And I know tons of guys talk like that too.

In my defence I was talking about femshep being the rather monotone one,, not meer.

Both Meer and Hale have their good points and bad points. Meer's performance is stoic and more consistent. His VO in ME sometimes comes off as bland or dispassionate to some people. Others seem to prefer the disconnect or neutrality of his style. On the other side of the coin, Hale gives a very passionate performance and does a more convincing job w/ some of the more "emotional" scenes. However her performance is not as consistent and she can be quite over the top sometimes.
This. But personally I don't mind either.
On Hale's hand ME as a whole is over the top and full of ham, a little more doesn't hurt.
On Meer's hand he really nails the one liners because of his stoic performance, it fits the cliche fest that is Mass Effect.

IDK though, emotion can be too fleeting, IMHO.
