Why do people complain about Mark Meer so much?

I prefer Meer, tbh, because he just seems to perform his lines effortlessly and consistently. A calm threat is always better than one seething with hate and camp. His paragon lines blend well with his renegade lines, and his decision to play both sides closer to neutral was a good call.

IMHO Meer is much, much better than Hale, who is way to emotional and her overly emotional/dramatic delivery sounds incredibly stupid to me at times, it often makes me stop playing the game for a while. Although in the end, she is not that bad, it's just that Meer is flat out better.
Meer sounds like a military officer - he is the main reason why I have A LOT more male Shepards than female Shepards (over 20 male Sheps and only 3 female Shepards).

As for the "You haven't played Mass Effect until you play FemShep" comments around the forums and even a gaming site, I find those to be quite misleading. I have played as FemShep as well, and I was unimpressed.

Since it would be unfair to make sweeping generalizations, some lines that demonstrate what I mean with Meer:
"We couldn't have done this without you, Tali." - ME1. Wince.
"We're lucky to have someone with your skills, Kelly." - ME2. Cringe.
"Calm down, Liara, I was only joking." - ME1. Cringe/wince.
Anyone else have any cringe-worthy moments with Meer?

Hmm, not really. Although after hearing Meer in ME2 and then listen to some of the above mentioned I sometimes think: 'Hmm, that's not very good. Oh well...'. In my opinion Hale has way more moments where I have to cringe.Nightwriter wrote...
I suppose because I feel he is very stiff and inexpressive and he has this tendency to ruin scenes for me. I think Hale is a bit better, but not insanely better.

I think most of the fanboi hate is because MM doesnt quite nail the renegade lines the same way JH does. JH nails about 90% of the renegade lines spot on, whereas MM only hits about 75%. That said, the opposite is true of Paragon. MM hits about 90% of them spot on, where JH only hits about 75%.
What? I found the complete opposite. Tried playing a femshep once but everytime I picked a line that was renegade or "tough" I cringed and had to quit the game.
Also, this thread is similiar to this one: social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/105/index/5595706

There was absolutely nothing wrong with those lines.
Some cringe worthy material from Meer is:
"How are you doing Kelly!?"
From Hale? Every single time she says the word "Collectors". Godamn, she puts so much emphasis on that word it makes me cringe up into the fetal position. I just can't handle the over emphasis she puts into all of her dialogue, it's like a parody of an action hero.

I just happen to like female Shepard better, and yes I would like female Shepard to get more marketing attention.
BUT it's not because I feel that Meer does a crap job, I just happen to be very tired of Sheploo's face.

Hale, I find is perfect for a Paragon but I just don't really buy into the Renegade route. Her voice doesn't click in that role, imo.

Best thing that ever happened on one of my ME1 playthroughs, was when I quickly switched from playing FemShep to ManShep. It didn't switch propperly and I ended up with ManShep with FemSheps voice. Had me in hysterics, but I was never able to re-create the glitch afterwards.

Yes there was.
... I actually think I can see where this is going. So, in the interests of preemptivity:
Yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was yes there was. Ha!
