In case I'm not being clear; I'm talking about her awesome Shadow Strike move (I actually wish this was her 'bonus' power rather than her flashbang...)
I usually play it with Deadly, but I haven't number crunched, but isn't the difference between Rapid and Deadly 'only' about 100 points of damage compared to the cooldown benefit and plus her passive Master Infiltrator?
What enemies (and there can't be that many all things considered -- bosses only that I can think of) could that 100 really make a difference on?
On the face of things... is Kasumi's Deadly better than Rapid?

Its a matter of personal taste. If you want her to use it to lower defences so you can then take them out, use deadly. If you want to take out defences and let her finish them off, use rapid.
That said, it all comes down to which class I am playing to wether she is the debuffer, or killer.

I've only used Rapid Shadow Strike, because I usually send her off on occasion to kill weakened enemies, and that dang quick cooldown is addictive as all get out. Thing is, that only ever happens on her Loyalty Mission. Plus, since I'm usually playing on Hardcore, her Overload gets a lot more work than Shadow Strike. Once she's loyal, it's all Flashbang all the time.

Shadow Strike has had many uses for me, she is capable of finishing people off if they have around half health (on Insanity) while at the same stripped the defense of a merc and distracted them momentarily for me to finish them off. With Rapid if Kasumi's killing people with it then definitely go for it as the 80% cooldown bonus is noticeable allowing for more Shadow Strikes.
Never taken Deadly though so wouldn't be able to compare damage inflicted, however she can still do some damage even without it.

People should consider that the cooldown reduction boni in her Passive do not apply. That one is broken, just to remind you people. In that regard, the -80% Cooldown bonus is even of greater impact on the battlefield and effectively steals the show, especially because the damage gap is only 100 points (or 200 versus most defences). Rapid Shadow Strike outclasses Deadly Shadow Strike by far in practicality.

I think that's pretty much how I see it. If you're better at stripping defenses, then RSS is better for the kill. If you're doing the killing, then DSS is better for taking down defenses and CC.

On paper, yeah. And if you're on a PC. RSS takes a lot more micromanagement than DSS, making it unwieldy on the xbox. In my experience, the more frequently you're using Shadow Strike, the more frequently its glaring bugs are going to appear. I find using Kasumi to be a lot less frustrating now that I only use DSS.

I swear by RSS myself and play on the 360. Whomever my Infiltrator did not finish, Kasumi was there to clean up. If I recall, I even left active squad on and the AI initiated many of her RSS kills itself.

Deadly for my adept and rapid for my engineer.
