I was romancing ash and liara as male shepard but eventually I got to a point (after the poetry and the part where she asks if I accept her baggage and all) with Ashley where she would always just say I can't talk now but I wouldn't mind talking later. I don't know if it was maybe because I said I feel attracted to Liara as well (I said that to Liara not Ashley). I did not know this would kill the Ashley romance, I thought they would both come to me and I would choose then.
So now after virmire Liara is the one that came to my bed, but I wanted Ash. Is there anyway I can fix this without replaying everything? I tried to reload like 10 hours back but I can't seem to find the place where I went wrong.
Thank you!
Ashley/Liara romance, please help

I think that happened to me once, you may have said the wrong thing to Ash by accident and put her in the friend zone. You can say to Liara that Ash is special and that there is a connection between you and Liara and still have the confrontation in the conference room. But in answer to your question you may have to reload, I just ran with it. Someone else may have a better answer.

Benu5 thanks. What I said to liara exactly is that Ash is special but that I feel attracted to her as well. But after that ash gave me the cold shoulder, she did the drinking celebration thing with me and talked about the family but then I talked to liara and that somehow killed my Ash romance. Given my choices I think I should have got the conference room confrontation so something is not right.
I found the save where I talked to ash and we did the celebration but it is quite a ways back (about level 23 and my current save is 44... its like 15 hours back).
So I was thinking of reloading from there and sticking with ash and straight up rejecting Liara. I guess I could go straight to Faros and then to virmire to save time and skip the side missions but do you think I'll be too weak at that point to finish the game? Also what will be the consequences of my lower level in ME2 ?
Thanks!

Romance: If you decide to say you want them both, that does kill off Ash's romance, and bring Liara in. You have to be specific with Ash, as she's a "good christian girl" and definately wouldnt be a swinger.
The game tailors itself to your current level. Sure, some things will be harder because you are lower, but also, some things will be easier. It will balance out overall.
Lower level in ME2: You wont get quite as many starting bonuses.
ME2 Romance (spoiler alert): You dont get to romance Ash in ME2, but you do Liara. Play your cards right and you can have a real swinger in ME2. Ive got one playthrough where I got Jack, Liara, Kelly, Miranda, and Tali. Takes some work, but can be done.

Damn man how did you get so many. Thats crazy. I thought that would be impossible. See the thing I was really waiting for was the confrontation because at the time I hadn't decided so I was just romancing both kinda. But the confrontation never came.
But after virmire whoever comes to you to cheer you up and almost kisses you... that is your final girl right? Theres no turning back after that I assume.

I got that many by being an old-school powergamer who recognises how scripting works. It started off as a zany experiment, that actually worked. Do the renegade quickie with jack, then do the SB quest and get Liara, ignore the rest of eth crew for the main mission, and invite kelly up once youve completed the game. Then start on miranda/tali during some side quests until you get the option to invite her up to the cabin for a snuggle session, then ditch her for the other, and continue that over a few more side quests.
Ive kept that save handy, just to see how the opo hits the fan in ME3 when it comes to the girls being loyal. To make it more chuckle-worthy, ive given him the face of an absolute munter.
And yes, the one who comes and cheers you up is the one you end up romancing.

Crazy bogsnot!
Anyway I think I know what happened. Apparently the confrontation comes after 2 main planets and many people were saying after noveria. So therum and then noveria. Then confrontation. Problem is, I didn't have liara before noveria. I didn't get her until after. Therefore.. no confrontation. :\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
This is my plan, I would appreciate your advice bogsnot1. Reload back to level 22 (and turn difficulty down to casual so I can go faster through the game), skip all side missions and go straight to feros (can I skip it?) then do virmire, Illos then when I get back to the place I was at before, turn difficulty back up to veteran and resume the rest of the game with Ashley. Do you think there are any downsides to this? I know my level will be lower, probably like 30 instead of 44, so what perks will I miss in ME2? Also do you think I will be able to beat ilos at my lower level, I'm using an adept and thus far had no big issues with the game on veteran.
Thanks!

Taking Liara to Novaria will give you a few extra lines of dialogue in regards to Benezia, and if you havent seen them before, its worth doing at least once so you know what happens, and you get to find more out about the mother/daughter relationship.
You need to speak to your chosen LI 4 or 5 times to trigger the romance, so a couple of side missions will be required. The only 2 side missions which I would consider to be important are the ones for Garrus, and Wrex. More so Wrex if you want to keep him alive.
Dont forget to speak to your LI in between each mission, as well as Garrus and Wrex in order to trigger the details on their side missions.
I would do it in this order. Therum, Novaria, Feros, one or two other side missions, Garrus & Wrex's side missions, then Ilos. Save before you do the final Citadel landing just in case you need to do another side mission to trigger more dialogue from your squaddies & LI.
What you will miss out on with a lower level in ME2 is;
Starting level will be lower, and less bonus creds and resources.
Using Gibbeds save game editor you can easily add in the resources, creds, and level/ability points you need.
Anything you wish to change about ME1 plot decisions is a bit trickier to do, but can be done with the editor. You make the changes you need, then under the "RAW" tab you need to change the game completed status from "not finished" to either "out in a blaze of glory", or "lived to fight another day". Save and exit, then start a new ME2 game, and select importing an ME2 character.
Hope this makes sense. Been drinking for most of the day and screen is looking distinctly fuzzy right about now.

I can just download Gibbed's save editor for my Mass Effect 1 character and change my Shepard's level to 60, right? I'd like to get the extra bonuses but I don't want to do EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT ALL OVER AGAIN.
also did liara but picked her up last on my second run; dialogue was amusing but she won't talk to me

That. Is awesome. Now I have something to attempt after I finish my current "serious" play throughs (basically a canon maleShep and femShep).Bogsnot1 wrote...

I wonder if it is possible to pull the same thing on the opposite side with femShep and Garrus, Thane, and Jacob...

@Dreggon: No. Gibbed's only works with ME2 saves as far as I am aware. Best way to get the import bonuses, is to load the ME1 save game, and then use the console cheats to up your level to 60.
@I.C: Yes and no. You should be able to romance Liara after SB, the ignore romances during main mission, invite up kelly, start on one of the guys during side quests, ditch them after the snuggle session, and then start on the 2nd and progress through more side quests, then ditch and go for #3. Will have to check, but i think Femshep will get one less bit of nookie compared to Manshep
Edit: And just for the chuckles, heres what the "Legend" looks like. I admit, I took some inspiration from Ugly Shepard, mixed in a bit of Quagmire, and added a cheesey 70's porn moustache for good measure. I did apply the cosmetic surgery, mainly becasue the scars and glowing eyes somehow made him look less fugly.
