primal & entropy. focus on crowd control and nuking.
Thus: frost and fire lines from primal. disorient and paralyze lines from entropy. sleep is a mental resistance check, paralyze is a physical resistance check. something for every situation.

For the mage in my party, I will focus them on crowd control role. Will use a fighter with taunting to fill the "defender"/tank role. A rogue for "striking", and then either a berserker "striking" warrior, or a "striking"/nuking mage.

I was originally planning on Primal/Spirit spells, but now I'm leaning more toward Entropy/Spirit. I'm definitely taking all the spells leading up to, and including Waking Nightmare. Probably the Hex line as well. Spirit interests me for its anti-mage spells. I find dispelling and countering opposing mages one of the most entertaining things about playing them, and I doubt Wynne will put up with my character long enough to rely on her for that sort of thing.
I'll leave the boom spells and corpse raising to Morrigan.

Primal/Entropy for my evil mage. Not sure which specializations I'll take, I don't really see (yet) which will fit him.

I'm planning to focus on entropy and spirit. Also one line from the primal (probably electric, it has always been my favourite from elemental spells), and then the healing line from creation.
I don't know about the specializations yet. At least spirit healer, I think, and blood magic really fascinates me but I have no intention of playing an evil character. So let's see..

i'm torn between entropy and spirit both seem pretty good, was even thinking about a "necromancer" themed build, basically all entropy, spirit reanimate line, spell might (to get undead mage) and frost line from primal
but really most schools looks quite balanced on paper and the ability to do spell combos seem great will be a pretty hard choice

Primal!
I am all about elemental spells generally, and in DAO the elemental school also provides some good CC.
I am propably going with Fire/Earth for my PC and Ice/Lightning for Morrigan... these schools seem to go very well with each other...
Think about it
Fireball - Earthquake - Inferno : With this sequence you can basically have the enemies immobile and takeing massive damage for the entire thing, as long as they fail their checks... you can top it off with another fireball, since it refreshes very quickly. Fireballs that knockdown are awesome! Plus, Fireball seems to be instantly cast, so you can start stunning moving enemies accurately.
Now imagine this sequence with Morrigan casting Chain Lightning and Tempest at the same time! I am pretty sure the entire enemy group dies at this point. Unfortunatly, you can't mix Ice magic in there, as it will put out the fire....
My PC will be an AW/BM, so he'll appreciate Earth Armor, which combined with Arcane Shield will propably make him quite hard to kill.
Hell, Morrigan with Ice-Lightning would also kick much ass like this:
Blizzard-Tempest-Chain Lightning : Freeze em with blizzard, damage them with the Strom of the Century combo, and then finish them off with CL.
Or, if she's attacked, Cone of Cold and then Shock, for some close ranged death...
I wonder if you can have both flaming and freezing weapons active at the same time...hmmmm.
The rest of the spells will be pick and match, but mostly Spirit for the Sleep/Paralisis spells. Party Friendly CC is goood

Im going to go with a arcane warrier/bloodmage, heavy enthrpy, and primal atleast up to the firey weapon spell.
If not that ill go with arcane warrier/shapeshifter for a more of a mage that can bear arms
(yes i know a very lame pun)

I am going to roleplay as very good jesus-style, and to me entropy that most people seem to favour just feels a bit too evil for that. Same goes for spirit. Using the elements to wreak havoc just feels more neutral to me.
I will do primal and creation magic.
Probably earth and frost from primal to get good crowdcontrol abilities and possibility of combining them to freeze and shatter. From creation i will do healing, probably those aura buffs and then grease.
Specializations will be spirit healer and arcane warrior since i feel blood mage is too "evil" and shapeshifter just doesnt fit with how i imagine the character to be.

While being a blaster can be a lot of fun, I prefer to play as a more subtle wizard, so I'm thinking mostly entropy, with a splash of spirit and blood magic.

I love druids so I am making my version of one in DA. Shapeshifter with creation healing and primal.

My character concept is a pretty hard core damage / debuff Arcane Warrior + Blood Mage. Because of that he'll go Fire and Lightning, pick up Walking Bomb and Mana Drain from the spirit tree, and Weakness from the Entropy tree.
Seems like a pretty fun / interesting combination. Drains the magic out of his enemies, infects them and reanimates them, and then blasts whoever is left in a storm of fiery wrath.
I will probably do the same... But with a Bloodmage/shapeshifter with some stone spells.

I'm going all Creation since I plan on trying to start off on hard difficulty. I've never been a fan of tip-toeing around FF effects in games being an Everquest PvP vet (mostly casters, esp Necromancer). Plus I really like the looks of the Creation spells, and their effects (EDIT: By "looks" I don't mean graphics, I mean their function. Poor choice of words.). The only thing outside of Creation I really plan on taking is Flameblast in Primal to go along with the Grease spell in Creation.
I've given thought to coupling this Creation focused build as an Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer. I think once I get more details on how the game works I'll be able to put together a pretty much invincible melee focused party.
Me, Sten, Dog, and Shale is what I'm planning for this build, specifically.
